Hurricane Sandy Aid: Lawmakers Erupt In Anger After House Fails To Vote On Relief Bill

NY area - Repubs & Dems - are rightfully pissed at the House Republican leadership

which has decided to let Congress adjourn WITHOUT HOLDING A VOTE ON HURRICANE SANDY AID

Yech - and here I was singing JB's praises - shut my mouth

There's $60B that the Senate has approved - with the House in for only $27B

    double yech

New Jersey is currently the biggest victim in terms of paying federal tax dollars out and getting nothing back in return from the government... maybe it's time to cutoff the welfare states if they're not going to be there when we need them.

The Republicans are incapable of governing. I hope New Jersey and New York voters remember at the mid-term elections.

Re: Hurricane Sandy Aid: Lawmakers Erupt In Anger After House Fails To Vote On Relief Bill

During the height of the Cold War (late 50s, early 60s) the USSR was our adversary. When the Berlin Wall went up or we were in the midst of the Cuban Missle Crisis, someone asked then Premier Nikita Khruschev what the chances were of having a nuclear war with the United States. The Premier replied, virtually none. The USSR will not have to launch one missle nor fire one bullet: the U.S. will simply rot from within." What a sage! Obviously he did not envision the Tea Party, which IMHO, is today's "clear and present danger."

At this time, I would like to congratulate all the fat-ass Democrats for staying home on election day 2010, which allowed these swine to get elected. 2014 is not that far away. Now is the time to start planning to unseat them.

I don't know, but that tie is atrocious.

The same shit happened in 1994 as in 2010. I will simply put two names in the brackets, depending on which time period you choose to look at.

I don't think the furor will die down quite so easily. Christie is still criticizing Boehner, rightfully so. The whole thing is a disgrace. The vote on Friday is only for part of the package, $9 billion. There will be a vote on Jan 15 on about $51 billion of the package. Then the Senate will have to take the whole thing up again. It's an unconscionable delay. Boehner and the House Republicans area disgrace.

See and I rather like his signature lime green tie. I had thought it was an affront to the standard Red = Power and Blue = Trust but after a little research it appears green is to symbolize practicability and down to earth. Boehner is many thing and Practical is not one he demonstrates. Rep King said he had a discussion with Boehner later yesterday where the speaker explained the plan for the emergency relief of 9 billion on Friday with the remainder of long term monies coming Jan 15th. King also said that he knew all was going to be OK with the bill when Boehner greeted him with a expletive. Funny no cries of outrage as of yet because Boehner called King a bad name.

Christie is the one who really stands tall out of this.

I just watched the clips of his Press Conference this morning and he surely has driven at least ten spikes into the coffin of the GOP Congress for 2014.

On the other hand...I think he just cemented his own re-election.

Christie calls himself a republican but supports every kind of spending. If hes so dissatisfied with his own party he should leave it. Democrats have been dealing with this same bullshit for years, why should Christie expect any different?

Slight correction-- Republicans support every kind of spending under a Republican. The only difference with Chris Christie is he doesn't immediately return to "spending offends the baby Jesus" only when a Democrat is in office.
