Re: R.I.P 2012 - The Day the Music Died

The previous ten years were the ones where most of the artists I loved died....I like R&B/Jazz/Dance the best and one by one in the past 10 years they have passed on....I met a handful of them over the years...

Michael Jackson, Syreeta Wright, Nick Ashford, Luther Vandross, Barry White, Nina Simone, James Brown, Rick James, Teena Marie, Loleatta Hollaoway, Vickie Sue Robinson, Billy Preston, Wilson Pickett, Phoebe Snow, Teddy Pendergrass, Phyllis Hyman, Bill Withers, Viola Wills, June Pointer, Issac Hayes, Lena Horne, Ray Charles and Izora Armstead (Weather Girls)

There are probalby more but that's who comes to mind at the moment.

I thought Earl Scruggs died a long time ago.

On the other hand, I didn't know about the man from Men at Work. Hearing of his death depresses me. Life is so short.

Thank you! Thank You! for posting this since I don't watch AI. It's amazing how her voice stood up after all those years. She is currently so underrated but time will correct that.

Rest in Peace Jenni Rivera... I'm not a big fan of norteņa & banda music, but she was truly a wonderful and influential person.

She was a family person and wanted to make a better life for her children and community. Truly a powerful person who empowered many and she really should be still with us. I am still in shock about what happened.
