Re: The Pope Endorses Genocide
I bet that is the same gay board that has the Salvation Army troll who constantly defends their gay bashing. It turned out that she was also the Pope lover. Big surprise!

I admit I am surprised at the responses in this thread. People who I expected to be all defensive of the pope, remained silent - thus earning a few points in my book - while people I NEVER would have expected to deny the obvious, did...

Just who do you think "den[ied] the obvious"?
And what is this "obvious" you think they denied?
"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Re: The Pope Endorses Genocide
I have often wondered if some sort of defamation action is being developed about the Pope's recent comments. Various evangelical mis-leaders, ditto. 130 years ago the Elders of Zion nonsense was spread around, it led to the Holocaust and so on, and people in the middle east and russia still take it seriously. Now Mr. Pope steps up to the pulpit to spread similar nonsense...
Good luck for anyone who is developing a proper anti-defamation lawsuit, perhaps in Europe. It looks like an easy three-par to me.

Re: The Pope Endorses Genocide
And now the same German shepherd is calling for an inter-faith alliance to fight gay marriage?
The man is an embarrassment to Christ.

Re: The Pope Endorses Genocide
I understand you, guys. I deplore the attitude of the Pope completely. I can not accept it.
BUT
He was never a Nazi. This argument is too simple. Take a look at his biography. He and his family (his parents and his brother George) opposed the Nazis always. All his comrads of that time attest this. You can repeat it and repeat it (that he was a Nazi), but it is not true.
But why do we always look what he says? You make him more important than he is. He represents the past - not the future. I hope, it will be come a modern and open minded Pope some day. We will see.

The fact that it was going to be printed like that shows that it is socially ACCEPTABLE.
This pope is incredibly dangerous, why did John Paul II had to die, as much as i don't sympatize with organized religion, i did admire him very much, and he would not be one of spreading hate and encouraging (albeit subtlety) extremist positions just to be sure he gathers as much Catholics as possible.
Fortunately, less and less people listen to such "authorities", even Catholics that i know recognize serious flaws in him....
But meanwhile the "queer" people of Uganda will continue to suffer...so sad

This isn't exactly news. The centuries old Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades say hi. The Church does get somethings right (like charity) but it gets other things VERY wrong.

Since the Vatican is its own nation (with the lowest birth rate in the world), the difficulty of that would be immense.

You're far too polite about it.

We had one in John Paul I. He was killed for it.

John Paul I. died of a heart attack. He was a man with heart disease. The vatican is more boring than you think.
