when I was a child I had a fever, and my hands, feet and head felt like balloons. I had an out of body experience and I could see my body floating above the sofa where I was laying... only when I was older and heard the Pink Floyd song did I recall that, and I realized someone out there felt that experience too, and I realized maybe I'm not so different after all.
So then I wondered if That feeling triggered my sexuality in some way because after that I noticed my penis more and it would often swell up like a balloon. So I wondered if Roger Waters was gay as well...

anyway, I thought of all of this because Roger and Eddie Vedder played in Madison Square Garden last night. Did anyone get to see it?

Pink Floyd is awesome. That song reminds me of my best friend who committed suicide at 17, we used to listen to pink floyd together while drunk and/or stoned or both. She od'd on pills, and that's why this song reminds me of her, she became comfortably numb.

the Sissor Sisters are cool, I've seen a lot of bands cover this song...when I saw the Wallflowers, Jacob Dylan killed it for his encore...it was awesome

oh, no need for sympathy. that was long ago. I wasn't fishing for sympathy, just remembering and stating what happened and how I remember that song. No sadness here at all but thanks.

I agree. It's probably one of my favourite albums of all time.

hmmmm. Sounding a bit rough, both of them. Vedder had trouble hitting those high notes in the song. And Waters, all of the decades hating on Gilmour probably has been rough on him. But at least those two finally (partially) reconciled this year. Here are Waters and Gilmour together again performing the same song earlier this past summer. Gilmour doing his guitar riff on top of the wall was awesome.

The song is about bandmate Sid Barrett and his heroin addiction which was sad for the other guys as he was a creative force in the band and all their attempts to help him sorta failed.
