Have you ever put something back in a store in the wrong place?

Yes. All the time. I'm too lazy to go back and put it in the exact same spot I found it. Sometimes I don't even remember where I found it.. what's the point in me using up even MORE time to put something back? It's the responsibility of those working in the store anyway.. like they get paid organize everything and make it look good. So who cares?

I do this all the time. And I work in a supermarket.

If someone leaves an item from a different department in my department I never return the item to the correct location. I just dump it on whatever shelf and get back to my job. I ain't spending ages walking around the store trying to find out where the item is supposed to go...

May create more overhead by doing that because at the end of the day or shift someone has to sort all that out. I assume you wouldn't put a perishable item back on a non-refrigerated area. If so, then that's a loss item and if your boss finds out you could get written up.

If it's a bakery item I'll dump it in the bakery, perishables get dumped somewhere in that department etc... I highly doubt to get written up, everyone does the same thing. It's just how our store works.

I experienced the same thing years ago when I worked at the K-Mart. We were under some really bad management, lots of people were expressing their contempt in various ways..
