I don't remember the brand of car, and I don't know how the technology works, but there is a commercial running for a 'bird's-eye view' feature to aid in parallel parking. I'm guessing it's cameras which take images of the surroundings and a computer program creates the overhead image.
Anyway, in the commercial, the driver prepares to park the car. His wife asks, "Are you sure you can fit in there?" The guy just smiles and a screen switches to the overhead view and he parks cleanly in the small space.
That's all fine and dandy, but if you can't parallel park, or don't even know the basic techniques, you're not going to get the car in the space no matter what view you have. And if you know how to parallel park, you don't need that overhead view.
A waste of money as far as I'm concerned.
Agree or disagree?
