I was grocery shopping this afternoon, and suddenly faced a Greek Gallic god. This Adonis was so handsome. Not too tall, not too short, perfect blond hair, nice stubble, a bubble butt to dream of, and the most magnificent eyes ever, two amazing pearls of iridescent blue into which you could gaze and lost yourself for a millennium. And then he spoke to his apparent girlfriend mentioning going back to Australia.

Last summer, I was posted at one of my favourite café, and spotted a magnificent specimen of a man. Chiselled, wavy hair, million dollars smile. And of course he was an Australian with a charming accent.

Why are all those Australians so gorgeous ? All the Aussie Jubbers are ridiculously handsome, and most like Anders123, just sweethearts. That is infuriating ! What is it ? Something in the water ? food ? air ? Are they not supposed to be heirs of ugly criminals ?

Well, that's it, the moment I win the lottery and can afford a ticket I'll get on a plane and I'm going to make a razzia of Australian males !

They plan on going back in a couple years (he is finishing school, and she is getting citizenship first), and getting married there and living there. And I must say... she is friggin STUNNING. Your answer was tongue in cheek but I know the real answer (beyond the UK's fixated conceit with comparisons between its empire and Rome) is that audiences associate British accents with affectations of "empire."

Which I find irritating as I'm a nitpicker for history and I always appreciate attempts for genuine language or accent or actor choices in movies.

But hey I'm sure pale blond guys are what audiences want to see more over actual Huns or actual Italians or whatever else... bleh.

I wondered as well. I always assumed they have the least attractive guys in foreign nation but look at their rugby team! During the Olympics a lot of the Australian athletes are also pretty hot.

At least when I was in Australia, I found the transplants (particularly from the Netherlands and the UK) to be the worst and the local Aussies to be quite affable.
