just read the story on that , thats fucked up !
Probably hundreds of TV/radio prank victims die every year, but nobody really cares.
The entire reason for ptranks like this is that what so many ass holes are into some one else fucken lives. The fucked up Magazines about celebs who shit the same way we all do but these low life males and mostly females that buy the trash mags and look at paparazzi photo's what a stupid world.
I've heard much worst prank calls ...
The British media are hypocrites. They have done much worst by following the Royal family around.
NEVER LISTEN TO A ONE SIDED STORY AND JUDGE.
ummm, the British media should be blamed first for hunting the royal family.
Then the hospital maybe be blamed for what was said to the nurse(s) behind closed doors (thats where the real bully began).
I find the royal family pretty boring but the British media created stories from them out of nothing.

wow,
just watched a report, the British media saying "Blood on their hands ..."
What more can you say about British media? ... they are rubbish.
NEVER LISTEN TO A ONE SIDED STORY AND JUDGE.
I hate to make a martyr out of them, but perhaps this should help send a message to other wankbag radio DJs that do the whole "prank call" thing, completely oblivious to who they could be hurting/humiliating.
I read yesterday that this is being treated as High Treason.....the only crime left for which the Queen can order the death sentence.
Jesus, imagine she did?
Chaos.
There's nothing funny about it Telly. They're being vilified around the world as though they murdered the woman. Not to mention the massive guilt they must feeling over what should have been a harmless - if rather stupid - prank.
- - - Updated - - -
It's a prank phone call, not High Treason. The Royal Family didn't even lodge a complaint.
^ Hey, I'm not saying what I read is fact, just repeating what I read....
no ravenstar, i find it funny because its the media's fault from the start.
And the media try to blame the radio station.
They create sensational headlines like "trolls" to begin with.
NEVER LISTEN TO A ONE SIDED STORY AND JUDGE.
Yeah I know LOL I was just responding to what you said. It's a fairly ridiculous claim by the UK Media to be saying it's High Treason. Given the Levinson Report and the way the UK Media is being beaten over shoddy practices I can't help but wonder if they're using this to deflect some of the problems they've been having for a while.
Agree completely. The British media will clutch at any straw right now that sees the limelight directed away from them.
I've read articles today about the Royal Family (namely, Kate) expressing their deep sadness at what has happened. Normally the Royal Family are kinda quiet and avoid getting involved in such media affairs, so her comments were certainly a surprise/breath of fresh air.
might be a lesson to be learned here and maybe some laws to be rewritten, there was a case here a while back where a radio prank call went wrong , they called this bloke pretending to be from his insurance company ( i think ) and told him his claim was being rejected , he lost the plot , told them he was going to their office to fuck them up and slammed the phone down , i dont know whether they managed to defuse him before he got to the office and blasted some innocent.
i personally believe that any of this bullshit should be banned , its fuckin stupid and if you need shit like that on the radio to start your day you're a fucken idiot .
just shows , you dont know how close some people are to the edge ( dont push em ).
the djs should be held responsible for their part in this , or do they get to blame the listeners who were tuned in at the time for demanding this sort of dribble?
twitter is
wot expect so lands
anyway

When I first heard about this prank, I thought it was a terrible thing to do, because I thought the immediate consequences would have been that that woman would certainly loose her job and be dragged through the mud of the British tabloids (which are the worst in the world). THAT to me seemed like very real consequences, and THAT alone should've been reason enough not to carry out/ broadcast such a prank. Not to mention that there was a third party involved (Kate Middleton), whose privacy was violated when she was in poor health. That the victim of the prank would possibly commit suicide was probably not something anyone would've thought of, but as I said, that there could be terrible personal and professional consequences for whoever took that call should've been on everybody's mind. Or maybe it's a sign of the times if in fact noone paused for a moment and thought of the consequences of their action...
That being said, I don't think all the blame should be put on the two DJs who carried out the prank. I'm sure there were other people involved/ responsible at the radio station, like producers, the legal department, etc.
I wasn't going to contribute to this - but good deal of the discussion here is far more rational that what is being seen in the media (especially that being quoted from UK) - so following is largely what I posted in the Mod Forum last night (when a Post report requested two threads on this be merged):I also think that the most sensible comment I have seen in the media was yesterday, from Peter Fitzsimmons, an Aussie Journo who often does write very straight up, commonsense, pieces: http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/societ...208-2b29q.htmlOriginally Posted by TriBi

Very tragic, I feel sorry for the victim's family. I don't condone what the 2 DJs did, but the true culprit is the management of the radio sation for allowing stunts like this to happen.
The hospital might be to blame because they might treat their staff poorly hence stress and suicide.
Such a harmless prank doesn't cause suicide:
