Oh my god I can't wait......![]()
Love that planet it seems to be set on. Is that Earth? Dubai in 10 years, tbqh
Can't wait!!
For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, 'It might have been.'
Looks absolutely brilliant! I can't wait! Great to see the lens flare has been turned down!
Gah .. they need to officially reveal who the villain really is now ..
Check out my very own Body Hair Lovers and Photography Groups!
Looks great and epic.
Can't wait for it.
Chris Pine is so hot.
And Zachary Quinto......... he's hott too.
J. J. Abrams can go sodomize himself with a spaceship made out of rubik's cubes as far as I'm concerned. Let the franchise die already!
The HOBBIT in IMAX 3D will have a 9-minute STAR TREK 2 trailer: the first nine minutes of the movie!
Apparently the director just wanted to do IMAX 2D, the studio wanted 3D, so this was the compromise![]()
OMFG I cant wait for this movie. Sci-fi is just non existent on tv these days just wished they have a good sci-fi show on but I guess just have to wait for the movie to get my fix.
I know what you mean. I wish there was more science fiction on the telly too but it's too expensive when shows about teenage girls talking about their mobile phones for hours is more cost effective and gets better ratings.
Plus, science fiction fans are probably far more likely to pirate television shows so they can't make a profit.
Except Doctor Who of course. I love that.
^ they only pirate the shows because its not available world wide some country has to wait for years.
Dr who is the only great sci-fi show available but its way to short and now with the stupid season split in to 2 is even worse.
Information/review about the first 9 minutes of footage that was released...
We’ve seen the first 9 minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness [io9]
I want to seeeeee. :/
I saw the 9-minute trailer before the HOBBIT, and am now inclined to think it is NOT Khan, but Sybok, Spock's brother. No vulcan ears, but he could be a totally human half-brother through Spock's mother.
The bit about helping the girl, and the resemblance to Spock . . . and of course Sybok would have a little grudge about Vulcan being destroyed and his mom dying.
Yet, admittedly, the trailer gives very few clues. I will say that the effects, maybe because I wasn't used to the format yet, outshone those of the HOBBIT in certain ways. Apparently it was shot in 2D and the 3D was computer-generated afterwards, unlike the HOBBIT. Not sure of the frame rate, though. I found the HOBBIT to be beautiful! I usually "tear up" at movies, not for emotions, but eye strain, and the IMAX 3D faster frame rate didn't seem to bother my eyes at all, even after three hours.
Yeah I saw the Hobbit (again) last night this time in Imax, and was totally surprised by the long Star Trek trailer. It was more like a mini-movie. When I saw the Hobbit the first time (HFR version) they showed only the short trailer.
I don't think the main antagonist is any character we have seen before; it think he is new.
New Trailer. And holy crap am I pumped for this movie.

I saw Star Trek:Into Darkness last night & it was Excellent...I originally planned to see the Friday midnight Showing but they moved the showing to Freaking Wednesday...
2hrs-10Min of Good action & Drama...We get to see more Tears from Hottie Captain Jimbo this time around...The guy delivered in those scenes and didint come across as some Spoiled Punk...The whole Crew got decent Film time and worked great as an ensemble...I like that the 2 Leading Starfleet Admirals were Tv/Movie Sci-Fi Heroes...That was a nice touch by the Casting Director...
I would have preferred at LEAST 1 or 2 Ass-shots but the Director didnt give us ANY booty...Star Trek is def Family-friendly & a Pre-Summer must-see.....
And a Note to the Director for Star Trek 3..Please ask the other Star Trek Legends to appear..
I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge Star trek and I am seeing this just for Sherlock... I'm worried I'll end up rooting for the villain. Can't wait until tomorrow.
I just saw this movie, and it was AWESOME!!!!!
I think that it's about the best Star Trek movie EVER !!!
... and that's saying a lot for me because I was ready to hate the new Treks.
I'm not a fan of prequels, or remakes, or rewriting Trek history - but THIS movie is the way Trek movies should have always been.
I also loved the nods to the past they put in.
I even cried. LOL
I watched VERY carefully to see how they planned to deal with The Villain. Had they altered the Final battle with him it would have changed all of their lives in the Future....
Young Kirk & Young Spock had NO idea had they dealt with The Villain a certain way Kirk's Future Son would STILL be alive in the Future...So nothing was altered because their battle with The Villain played out the way it was suppose to.......
Had Young Kirk known that the Villains Life or Death would determine his Future son's Life or Death, Young Kirk would have done the unthinkable for the sake of his ONLY child...I would have..

I laughed at what they did with Sulu![]()
And yep, I really liked it, too. But I didn't like the final "duell" .. that really had a starwards feel :-/

watched it and YES
it got me pumped along the movie
and it's still better than the overhyped Ironman 3
the villains I love him so much
so psycho and sleek and CRAZY!!!
I cant stop starng and wondering how perfect Chris Pine is and too bad theres only one shirtless scene of him and thats quick snap
Although a little cheesy, I enjoyed the reversals to the other movie. I was also glad to see Nimoy make a small appearance. I thought the Klingons were cooler then I've ever seen them. I wasn't overly thrilled with the first movie, but if this second one is the direction Trek is going, I can get behind it, happily.
One funny thing I missed that my friend pointed out was that other shuttle they had, had I guess Kirk said they picked t up during the "Mudd incident".
There are some points I could nit pick about, but I doubt most care about continuity issues like that as much as do.

Because of the timeline being changed by Nero, virtually everything held sacred canon to the original Trek is now free to play around with, or ignore. I'm glad they didn't just kill off the villain, and that in the end the essential humanity of the Trek message remained intact, if not shining out clearer than ever. The reversal part could have been a complete cheesefest, but it is basically nitpicking at an otherwise really entertaining film that keeps to the Trek traditions while boldly going towards an appealing re-imagining of its own. Loved how they even snuck in a tribble to help save the day... I can't wait for another entry to hit theaters. Even more, it's about time the franchise get its own television makeover too and return to series form, whether it's from the original series era or later times.
Amazing things ahead for the Mets ....hosts of the MLB All Star Game in 2013
So I finally saw it, and watched the first of Abrams Star Trek last night to catch myself up to speed. I really enjoyed the movie, it was easily better than IM3 and the 1st Star Trek reboot. The movie had its flaws like the pointless, maybe not pointless, but obviously he wasn't going to remain dead, and weird revival, but other than that I didn't have any major complaints. The villain was awesome, and Cumberbatch did an incredible job like always, and I'm happy he survived, just so Cumberbatch can maybe be in another Star Trek in the future. How ironic was the fact that the destruction occurred in London. Sherlock destroyed his home and also sort of saw him as an evil version of Sherlock.
I didnt question the shuttle Jimbo, Spock, Uhura & the Arms team used to seek out the Klingons..I'd expect the Enterprise to have several shuttles that can carry at least 10 Crew members...Come on Man this is America in the Future..We are still the Shit and gotta represent above the other Planets...
I Love Nimoy but he appeared in the 1st one and he Narrated the closing theme in the first one...Wouldnt you like to see Nichelle Nichols come Face to Face with Young Lieutenant Uhura?
I don't wanna see Old Spock in Part 3..I wanna see other legends...
I am curious if the actors of the original crew, TNG, Voyager, ... have watched these new Treks and what they think about them.
It will probably never happen, but I've always wanted a Voyager movie too.
spoiler alert...im a really harsh critic for star trek films apparently.
saw the movie last night in imax 3d, paid 17.50 for that and was a little let down. it played more like a wannabe superhero movie, the scene where they start talking about dismantling one of the torpedos was pretty lame, i got up at that point for more popcorn, when i came back they were still talking about dismantling one of the torpedoes. the use of the warp core death scene from star trek 2, and using the blonde chick, carol marcus? was completely random, shes a scientist not a weapons expert. the ending scene that reminded me of nemesis with kirk and khan jumping from the enterprise to the enemy ship that had to 'deploy' weapons to destroy the enterprise.
watching the villain negotiate with spock made no sense, it essentially just gave spock an opportunity to play his hand. if khan wanted his people back why didnt he just carry out his threat? the whole movie used old borrowed ideas from previous star trek movies. i cant believe they spent $190 million on this for two outer space fight scenes between two federation vessles that are right above earth, and starfleet is nowhere to be found. at various points in the movie the crew is spelling things out for the audience, and the main theme behind the movie that a starfleet admiral is trying to start a war by killing the enterprise crew is far fetched.

I found it enjoyably sleek and exciting. As it's not the kind of movie I expect more from than that, I was satisfied.
Some of the things I thought about...
...The character of Carol was introduced because this is the super-slashiest homosexual Kirk-Loves-Spock script ever. Gazing into each other's eyes, saving one another, making passionate declarations of "friendship." Geez, just get married already. If Kirk didn't have Carol "on board" and Spock didn't have Uhura, it'd be easy to spot where the real romance lies...
...9/11 imagery. Will it ever end?
...And Dr. McCoy!Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
Shall we re-name thee Herbert West, Re-Animator?
They loved living here.
But I can't let them stay.
They'll have to find food, and I hope that they may.
Good luck, boys! Good luck!
