I know I haven't posted in a while, but I thought I'd just throw this out there.
December 4th I get to undergo some super fun vascular surgery on my right leg, cause my varicose veins are soooooo bad, that they worried I'll get a blood clot[s] and bite it.

So I am going under, full aneasthia[sp?] And getting the troublesome vein[s] removed. A little nervous, and a little not, but none the less thought I'd make a post in case it ever comes up to a "where is EP?" kind of thread. If I never post again, assume the worst.

Someone will probably let you know, I'll likely post something after in this thread a few days after the surgery provided there are no complications.

Good luck!! I'm troubled by blood clots in the legs and you're doing the right thing. If you have to take Coumadin, getting your prothrombin levels checked regularly is very important.

There was an emergency at the Hospital today, my surgery for today was canceled.

It's been rescheduled for the 18th.

Needless to say today has been a mentally exhausting and stressful day.

Well I turn out to be in about the same boat as you. Have some kind of arterial blockage in my left leg and am being referred to a vascular surgeon.

I have the same issue with my right leg. The only issue is that it looks very hideous.. No shorts for me.

I was always physical, maybe this is why.. What sort of symptoms were you having that prompted an operation?

I think its left leg peripheral artery disease. Have had 2 DVT's in left leg. Losing mass in the left leg; left leg feels leaden and almost like wearing a concrete boot; calf becomes very sore during walks or on rugged terrain; pulse in left ankle noticeably low. Talk to your doc about an ABI test (ankle-brachial index test).

Okay, I made it through guys.

I am staying with my parents.

I am very sore. A very good person is taking care of me and helping out.

I had a few breathing problems during and after surgery, left the hopsital after 8 or 9 last night.

I have a cane to assist with walking and I am not working until the 15th.

So just some fun facts.

I don't know if I already posted some of this info.

I had reverse blood flow from the malignant vien[s], which will be taken care of with the stripping.
During the surgery I had some trouble breathing the last thing I remember was the EKG going off, probably when my breathing went shallow, and a lot of talking with the staff. needless to say if they had me countdown I don't remember.

Had a tube to help with the breathing, so my throat is sore now. Took a bit for the anestesia and freezing to come out.

I have over 30 incisions, stiches in my groin.
I remember seeing some nasty junk in a can from when they pulled my breathing tube out in recovery. I was in recovery for about and hour and a half.
The surgery took longer because my veins were pretty bad and bigger than he anticipated.

I had a lot of pain and didn't even stand and started to spurt a lot of blood.

Then I was in the room after recovery just waking up, had my dressings changed.

Never have more woman seen my penis in my life.
I felt like Lady Gaga in Marry the Night when they were changing my dressing, but there was no nurse for me to go "she has a great ass".

I am hoem at my parents for a bit while I recover I'll likely be oout of work until the 15th of January. I've got all my leave forms filed.

I am sore, a great guy is taking care of me while I recover. My parents are helping too... here's some pics. I'll post one more once all the banadages are clear for come off, and I am recovered.

Incisions marked by my surgeon, it was more flared when standing up, looked horrible Surgeron said "looks like we're doing this just in time, and i've really got my work cut out for me.


Just after being wheeled out of recovery, very bloody and spurty.
