Will you taxidermied your pet remain?

Because personally I really into it, if it's done beautifully/honorably..
Even right now..I have little conflict with my family ( no one supports me -_-) about how we gonna treat our first family dog burial/cremation in the future, because I want to "preserve" my dog inside a beautiful casket like this:

    she deserves it! ^^

Are you ok/not with this process?

Good Lord no. I'm going to bury her or have her cremated. I'd rather remember her as she was when she was alive, not as a glassy-eyed abomination.

My dog meant a lot to me so I had him cremated. I didn't want to bury him in the back yard because surely I'll move one day, and I didn't want to leave him. He keeps me company here at my desk.

    Oh my God no.

There is no way to have your pet gutted and stuffed in a beautiful and honourable way.

There is a time to let the dead go.

Unless your pet was named Lenin or Mao, I can't see the plexiglass solution.

Ecologically, simple burial is my preference, short of making a trip to some place that could recycle the animal into fertilizer.

I've had pets, loved them, but their bodies are no more sentimental than a human's. We are not our bodies. When we vacate them, the remains should not be idolized.

I love living things and then their memories. After having worked in a funeral home, I have no sentimentality for corpses.

Out of respect for the things that lived, it is appropriate and respectful to remove their remains from sight during decay, also preserving their memory as the living things they were rather than a decomposed body. As my grandmother declined in a nursing home, I choose not to remember her there, but as she was for 89 years before that period of decay.

When the time comes and my two dogs pass away I will have them cremated as I have had with dogs in the past. I do joke with my partner that I'm going to stuff his cat.

    Yep.

In a little bit of a creepy sort of way this does seem like it is something someone would do who has trouble letting go.

That's terrible. Almost as bad as Celebrity Plastic Surgery Gone Wrong….
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

I remember when I heard about Trigger being stuffed I thought about Roy Rogers and Dale Evans being stuffed instead...wonder how they (or anyone else) would like it?

I would say that qualifies as 'Sea' in the poll.

I go for burial. Even our goldfishes, I always insisted on burying them in the garden.

I wrapped them round in a long length of kitchen roll, and then I dug a hole in the garden. Afterwards I placed a brick standing up to mark the spot. There was an area of our garden which I called 'Fish Cemetary' and at one time there must have been six of seven bricks standing up in a cluster there. But this was like a decade ago.

Nope. They'll be cremated and put into a small box and kept on the shelf with the other ones.

    U would be right.

We're always turning our soil every year to grow new veg. The cichlids, angelfishes, goldfishes, catfishes and water snails all went their sewery ways in the end, it wouldn't be right to use them as fertiliser for our own consumption, or let them rot away to be dug and turned over year on year....

We are fortunate in that we have a cemetery down at the bottom of the lawn. It is where all our cats lie and where we will be also.

We are thinking of building a little Mausolem....

A little cremated urn with a nice picture of your beloved pet when it was alive sounds appropriate enough to me. Stuffed animals are just creepy.

My Buddy died on Labor Day. His death liked to have killed me!

I buried him in the front yard next to a big boulder to use as his head stone.

Joswanprince, if it's the family dog you must account for everyone's feelings. If it was your dog exclusively I wouldn't judge you negatively if your taxidermy (or any other method of deposition) was meant as a genuinely loving remembrance.

I've cremated my pets and take comfort in having their ashes and some mementos nearby.

I'm more for cremation, just seems like a more easier way to keep them around. Taxidermy just seem weird, like weird to physical see your pets, plus they'll take up room.

One of best things I do with Mo is cuddle cuz his fur is soft and he is warm.

So imma have him stuffed with an electric blanket so we can cuddle....

I will find a nice place to bury mo and let him go back to what he came from ... nature

I had a wonderful little tan Siamese with a shape and ‘personality’ that almost begged for mummification.

I thought I’d like to keep her little mummy in her own little sarcophagus on the mantle where I’d see her all the time and remember how much she liked to always be wherever I was.

In the end, I put her under a shrub just outside my kitchen window so that every day I see her marker and that lovely blooming shrub she’s now tending for me.

bad taxidermy happened because the artist doesn't fully understand animal anatomy or perhaps lacking aesthetic skill ^^

Actually I told my mom about my intention, then my sisters..they both disagree but I still insisting. My mom said, she wont notify me when Twix pass away..until she cremated. Well, I prob won't aware her departure since Im not in parents house. if they disagree with me, just hoping Im not around when it happen

    That's wonderful- A remain becoming plants...:~)

I think you almost break my glass casket- taxidermy heart..
    It's actually very special-touching solution ...

here's the thing: Taxidermy is not weird or anything..it's my way of appreciating Twix-my dog and some people I bet they're out there or they're shy here because of the poll
    1 vote from me!

I want to taxidermize her but when my family already burn her in cremation- (my least fav method) -_- or bury her..(better ) THEN I wont throw fist or tantrum for this thing...I love Twix but maybe because she's not exclusively mine, so I must pay attention to other family member's feeling. ^^
