HIV and Oral
Ok guys I had a thread earlier and I want to thank those that responded but going back to the incident, how likely is it to get HIV/aids if a guy was blowing me and another dude back to back? The guy would suck me then switch to the other guy's dick, then back to mine? They all stated they were clean and I still keep contact with them. But realized they bareback that night. I used condoms for all other penetration it's just this one thing that has me worried the most. I'm getting tested In a few weeks. They said they both had been tested recently and were negative. But soon realized how sexually active they were with others. I hook up maybe twice a year if anything more of a relationship person.... Just scared how carefree people can be with safe sex I guess. Thanks in advance for your answers guys!

It is very difficult to catch it from oral sex. You would probably have to taste blood in your mouth for it to penetrate your body.
In fact it's so unlikely that without a condom it is safer than anal sex with a condom.
But of course it's easier to catch other STD's like chlamydia and herpes.

If you want to get a clear opinion, please avoid expressions like "bact to back", because I have no idea what it means. Asking you to clarify takes time, and makes it harder to give you a satisfying answer.
The risks of Oral sex are very low (when it comes to HIV). I don't know of anyone who got infected this way and there were studies about serodiscordant gay couples that showed that the chance is low to nonexistent. (According to the result there were NO infections over the course of 10 years. The couples used condoms only for anal-penetrative sex, but didn't use any kind of protection for oral sex)
I don't expect anyone to believe that of course, but it is an opinion among the many.
If you are afraid that you might have been infected (as you clearly are) you should take a test 6 weeks after the encounter and repeat that test 3 months later as well.
I wish you well.

Re: HIV and Oral
Thanks... And by back to back I meant that one of the guys gave me oral then he sucked the other guy and was pretty much going back and forth between both of our penises. I was just thinking if the other guy who was getting sucked had HIV would I be at risk when the guy sucking him, Went back to sucking mine moments later. I know there are STD's as well I'm getting check in about 4 weeks, but it didn't hit me until after in regards to the one guy sucking us both how much of a risk would it be Having the other guy's precum in the one guy's mouth then moving on to suck mine?

Re: HIV and Oral
Saliva contains enzimes that render the virus unable to infect, or atleast that is what the experts say.
The chance exists, but I think it is very small, because in order to get infected that way, the other guys precum should enter your urethra, but if you suck, you swallow. It is a very really low chance.

Re: HIV and Oral
From what I understand about oral sex and HIV, you would have a pretty low risk unless someone was bleeding significantly (not just a bite on the lip, but like gum disease bleeding...) or the guy giving the oral sex took a load from the other guy and then somehow inserted it into your urethra.
Since both of those are really, really unlikely to happen without you noticing, I'd say you don't have much to worry about. Sometimes giving oral sex can carry a minimal risk, but I've never heard that it can be carried through the mouth, especially with the virus-killing enzymes in saliva that Coward mentioned...

Re: HIV and Oral
A certain amount has to get into your bloodstream for you to get infected.
Since the stomach acid destroys the virus you would have to get it in your system either from the mouth or the throat.
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwr...402a1.htm#tab1
As you can see from this info there is 0,01% chance of getting infected when you give a HIV positive man oral sex. So on average you would have to give oral sex to someone infected about 10.000 times to become infected yourself.

Just don't do it right after having any kind of dental work...even a teeth cleaning. Wait a few days for complete healing. The process of having your teeth cleaned involves microscopic tears in the gums that you don't want exposed to semen.

I've heard you should wait an hour or two after brushing your teeth before doing oral sex.

Re: HIV and Oral
My understanding is that it is almost impossible to catch HIV from oral sex so long as you have no open wounds in your mouth. So long as your mouth and gullet are wound-free even swallowing is highly unlikely to result in HIV infection.
For this reason it is not recommended that you brush your teeth for a couple of hours before oral sex. Use a mouthwash

You are missing one thing here.
The OP was on the receiving end of oral sex so unless he had an open bleed cut on his dick the chances of him getting HIV from being given a blow job will be virtually zero.

Yeah, but the OP is worried about infected semen transporting from another guy to his dick via the cock-sucker's mouth. (Sorry for the vulgar expression here).

Re: HIV and Oral
Thanks for your replies guys, getting tested next week since it's been around 4 weeks.... Then getting tested again in 4-6 months. Just starting to see a new guy and really like him. Hope everything is good.
Glad that you made my post a bit clearer Coward92, so do you think the chances are small even if the guy did have HIV? Both of the guys state they are negative I just wasn't aware
How easily they bareback with each other and apparently a few others!

Yes, I personally believe that your chances were very low, but if I were you I would be totally crazy about it too, because I have insane irational fears about being infected with HIV.

Really there is no need. Even if they were HIV infected the chance is still just 0,01%. It won't happen unless you have a serious cut or some kind if infection which makes it possible for the semen to enter your bloodstream. I would be more worried about other STD's.
Just get tested once in few months. There is no need to worry about HIV. Seems kinda paranoid to get tested twice specifically for HIV after such a very low risk sexual encounter.
