Is there any actual proof for this or just more grandstanding like they do on Fox News? Obamacare is actually beneficial in the long term... and will provide for increased profits. But a single payer system would be even better... like how the rest of the developed world does it... even Japan and Germany. Two countries that CARE more about the healthcare of their citizens.

The euro zone is imploding. The very last thing we need to do while we are experiencing an anemic growth rate of 1.9% a year is to stop the vital government spending that is a good third if not half of that growth. We do need to make sensible adjustments and cuts to save by finding efficiencies not by cutting out programs and instilling austerity. If the republicans get their austerity plan then we will see the great depression because republicans and cutting spending are exactly what caused that tragedy.

The OMB numbers suggest that spending actually DID decline in 1937 and 1938 (see here) and, contrary to the assertions of Cooley and Ohanian, that decline had a very deleterious impact on economic activity and employment. I will address the tax issue presently, but let’s first deal with the “excessive unionization” canard. An objective observer looking at the US in the 21st century would hardly conclude that unions have any real power in the American economy today, any more that we have a “socialist” government dedicated to the promotion of a vast left wing agenda which enhanced union power. Obama has not addressed Labor Law reform and wages haven’t risen in a generation; in fact, last year they fell.

Okay first of all Social Security is easily fixed by raising the cap. Simple math takes the system out 75 more years and then only drops to 95% of a payout from the previous seventy five years.

Obama also RAIDED the Pell grant system and took the handouts we were giving big banks and simply used the same money to provide more pell grants and get kids education... same situation with medicare... monies being paid OVER top of fees were cut out to stop rewarding HMO's for inefficiency. funny how an election year talking point that was absolutely baseless and proven so on the campaign trail yet you still haul it around.
