one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry
Gentlemen, residents of the United States go into the public record--a record which anyone can search.
Rest assured: if a man named Andreus Thanos (or his other "real" name) lived in the United States as a legal entity, he most assuredly would appear in that public record.
There is no doubt to this whatsoever.
Now if Andreus Thanos was a pseudonym, or he lived as an illegal immigrant, then all bets are off.
Andreus Thanos being a pseudonym doesn't tie in with Boston Pirate's claims of knowing him though, so someone is definitely lying.
The difference is, a big poster here has verified that was supposed to be their 'real name' and identity.
I don't know if Greeks go by this rule, but Spanish go by Father-Mother hyphenated Surnames, and only use the Father's in America.
Perhaps Andreus did the same - Example: Andreus Thanos-Olympian.
^It would have shown in the public database, Borg.
I think some of the posters in this thread (not you) do not want to face the ugly truth.
On another note, several have comment that this story is a most remarkable, real-live murder mystery. Consider:
1. Someone created a character.
2. Someone killed him.
4. We readers have to look for the clues.
^The thing is that my information is cold, hard data pulled from public databases, not just "baseless speculation".
Ah right OK, that's fine then
Maybe it's easier for me to look at it that way because I didn't know Andreus, his brother, BP, anyone, so I don't have those "close ties".

Even I, who had only been here about a year and 1000 posts when he left and had very little direct interaction with him, considered him kinda larger than life. This, I think, is why this thread has reached 17 pages. I suspect were we to raise this about any number of other JUB big guns - no names need mentioning, but I'm sure if we drew up lists there'd be many names popping up on them more than once - who've made a big contribution here over the years, they'd get to double figures easily, hot or not.
Make no mistake, Andreus could pull a crowd. Frankly I think we all deserve a bit more credit than "it's because he was hot and packing."

I hope you get this message.Comments welcome.
Andreus had an occasional (and rather annoying) habit of posting pictures of "himself" for only a few minutes. He would post a link to a picture, and the picture would be removed after a few minutes.
On one occasion, I recognized the picture he posted as that of a little-known amateur male model, who had once done a small series of outdoor nudes.
It didn't strike me at the time as evidence that he was a fake. Lots of people who are not comfortable with their own appearance post pics of other people which they claim to be their own. It does not mean that they are not real people, with real lives and important things to say about the world.
But, it does fit with the impression that much (or even all) of his persona was not what he claimed it to be.
Just beware, if I had posted all the things I've thought applicable and have been kind of wanting to say in this thread, we'd probably be on about page 40 by now. I keep typing in stuff, but then deciding not to hit the 'submit reply' button. I find it a fascinating thread.

Same. Unless there's some serious ethical issue involved I don't know why you'd withhold stuff but bother to mention you "know things."
I wonder why the administration here doesn't require proof of death to place a member into the Garden? There are probably a thousand or more deceased members on this website and we don't even know about their deaths. Just seems ironic that we can honor the loss of someone that may have very well never existed at all.
Rumor had it that Kahil's dick was bigger than Andreus'. Just saying is all.
Everyone wants to be heard. No one wants to listen.
So maybe he just sought out a new life?
Really, most of my points would be based around the fact that I'd prefer to read the mundane story of one real jubber, than the exciting and interesting story of a fake one (unless its in the story forum, which I like). I am really, really passionate about that. I came to the Jub forums at a time when I needed to connect and Jub became very important in my life, helping me through a rocky patch. When Andreus confessed to being HIV+ on here, I thought that was really amazing. That is why I said in that thread :
I have just read your thread from start to finish. It took me an hour or so, but it was one of the most rewarding hours I have ever spent. I don't personally know anyone who is HIV+ (perhaps that is a fault of my own making), but now I feel I do.
Thankyou for sharing and all the best to you. From what I have read, you have all the mental armoury required to fight it. And I believe you will succeed.
So I spent an hour of my life reading something that I could have done something else more constructive and worthy of my time. There still might be an Andreus, but I very much doubt his story. Unless there is something else that comes to light that swings things around. So, it's been an unpleasant, in many ways, thread, yet fascinating. But at the same time, if someone can see the possible consequences of their actions before embarking on a similar pathway, perhaps some good will come out of it.
That's basically my thoughts in a nutshell.

Nope? Thought so
We also do have a few deceased members where I am very certain that they actually died. Most of them were well not "larger than life" just your average nice jubbers. Some had contact to other posters outside of JUB, some had their life-partner drop us a mail or write a PM.There are probably a thousand or more deceased members on this website and we don't even know about their deaths. Just seems ironic that we can honor the loss of someone that may have very well never existed at all.
But I'm not ready to be prescribed anti-anxieties or anything .... I'm still quite capable of functioning as a normal, happy human, despite this thread
Answering your own threads isn't a good sign ... Be careful, you might turn into Joswanprince!
^ Justaguy and joswanprince are the same person???
But do carry on with your investigations & comments, folks ... it's fascinating stuff!!

^^^ Joswan has been known to start threads, and then answer his own questions. I just didn't wanna see Justaguy start turning into him when I saw him quoting himself.
I found this surfing... somehow, I thought it fit here since this thread seems to be about resurrecting the un-dead.
... and I just thought it was kind of a cool picture, and didn't know anywhere else to share it.
Let's put it this way. I'm not going to be calling in any representatives from the Guiness Book of World Records.
We're being sidetracked. Better get back on topic.
As for Croynan ... he was a dear friend and I, too, miss him greatly on the boards! I did receive an email from him not too long ago .... He was dealing with a few issues in his life but is doing well and keeping busy.
But I digress .... back to the super sleuthing, everyone!
A thread becomes SO popular, that it eventually drags you in, so here i am. And, now that i am, i no longer have faith that anybody is real except for myself. However, with that in mind, how do i know i'm really alive, this could all be a dream, a continuation of a life unknown to be ceased, this thread is a mind-fuck. Good-night, god bless.
BOSS: I'm sorry, but I'll have to lay you and Jack off.
SUE: Can you just jack off? I feel like shit today.
