I'm not in the sock puppet parade. Not sure of what was what, mind you, but Kahil's posts in his blog were ever changing and consistent with his pics on JUB.

The difference in Dreu's posts and Kahil's were enough that if the same mind wrote them, then a writing award is due. A lot of the time they were posting real time in those swirling arguments.

If so, it would represent the first interesting thing here that rises beyond navel-gazing speculation, and it would be highly indicative of the truth.

I'm almost certain that an individual needs to log in, to show activity in a user account, and I'm not a Mod. What Quasar has asked about, I think, is whether a Mod actually has the power to override the password of a user account, in any way, to access an account. I have my doubts about that, otherwise vBulletin would have the reputation of being NOT secure. On the other hand, I guess there are tweaks and options available.

Somebody else asked the IP question...I've logged into JUB from various IP's because I do a lot of traveling and am often far from my home IP. (I don't have, nor have ever had, any desire to post under anything besides my primary - and only - username here...or elsewhere on the internet.)

I'm trying to think of a scenario that could be "real" that would explain all this, but I can't think of one.

Whoa, horsey! You missed a couple of the pieces of the puzzle.

I already knew for certain that Stacy and Jasun were real people. In fact, I can tell you even more. At first, they detested each other. She thought him a misogynist, as I recall.

But over the months, they began to warm up to each other, and in fact, I think they are pretty close in real life.

So let's put that behind us. What do we have left? I have ascertained that:

1. No person with the name of Andreus Thanos (or his other "real name") has ever lived legally in the United States. I give it a 100% probability that Andreus was either a pseudonym or a sockpuppet.
2. Someone with very similar parameters as Jasun lives in Los Angeles, and has some kind of a tie to Denver. I give it a 60% likelihood this is the same person.
3. I haven't done any research on Kahil. He was our last remaining thread to Andreus's identity, but someone PMed me and told me that there's considerable doubt that they ever met in person.
4. I felt sure I found Stacy's other sockpuppet. In fact, it happened to be a very similar case, with Elvin exposing both sockpuppets--a most remarkable coincidence.

No other questions have been raised about anyone else's identities, ChickenGuy. I apologize that my detective work has made you feel uncomfortable, but did you see the Title of The Thread?

Exactly. I have been here since 2004 and that was my understanding as well - that they never met in person.

I always thought the "death" was hard to believe, especially since it was never explained in detail, and there was no obituary or other corroboration other than the brother's posts.

I will say this, I don't think there is anything suspicious at all about Enchanted. He is an obvious newbie, and he leaves a trail as wide as a horse.

When he posts, he is nothing as vague or obfuscating as Dreu was.

Enchanted simply noted a few of us remarking about Dreu and became curious. He yet posts his pics on other parts of the web and is easily traced through them. Dreu was never that transparent nor concrete. Never.

My sarcastic humor has never translated well here. Aside from Mitri and Dreu the people I listed have never been in question as fake or sockpuppets of another JUBber. I know no one in this thread truly believes I have ever or could ever be anyone but callmewhenursober, darlingstacy, evilbitch and stacy.

I actually have a question, I hope it doesn't seem inappropriate or plain ignorant, the positive post started in January, the disappearance was in September so, let's say that since getting infected and dying was a year or maybe a year and a half? It seems a reasonable period of time for all the events take place, as told... Would this really be possible? I'm not sure but even in the beginnings of the disease (in the early 80's) this would be seen as a really quick evolution no? This period for all this kind of events it's plausible? Specially knowing that he was medicated and only interrupted, whatever, during the Ramadan. I'm only asking because I really don't have a clue and if yes, I hadn't the idea of the condition still represent this kind of danger

Early on in this thread, I myself was absolutely convinced that Andreus was real. By page 13, I became absolutely convinced of his fakery.

I think Enchanted started the thread because he wanted to know what Andreus was like as a person. Naturally, if somebody had had doubts about Andeus, this quest of Enchanted's would have begged questions.

Invariably, one of the doubters would have said,"But there IS no Andreus".

I see this as only natural.

My knowledge is limited but as I recall, in the 1980s the period from diagnosis to death could be six months, whereas post-1996, patients are living upwards of two decades and we haven't seen the lifespan ceiling yet because the disease is still young.

I think the whole sock puppet issue is off-putting. When I come to forums, I want to share with others our real-life experiences. I don't want to read fiction except when I am reading a novel.
