Red Patch Under Lower Lip

So I have this red patch of skin under my lower lip. I have absolutely no idea what it is and I've never had it before.

History: A few weeks ago, I had a cold sore on my lower lip. It was very small and only took a few days to heal(I found it early and immediately put on cold sore medicine --Zilactin and I iced it). After it healed, I saw a few small dots right under it. I thought maybe the cold sore had spread, so I iced it down again and put more Zilactin on it. It didn't really help. Initially, I thought it was just a rash because when I had the cold sore, i was licking and biting my lips a lot.

Fast forward to now, it developed into a red patch. I'm very sure it's not a cold sore. It isn't painful at all, but it does get itchy sometimes. I've tried everything from icing it to zilactin to neosporin, to aloevera, to hydro cortisol. Nothing has been working.

Any suggestions as to what it is and how to treat it? At this point, I'm paranoid that it might be some kind of STD.

If you left the ice on too long it could be from frostbite. If this is the case, the discoloration could be there for a while. I had this happen to me.

While I was icing the cold sore, the ice cube did make contact with the entire area that's red now. I noticed it did get red after I iced it, but I thought it'd go away.

If it's the ice which caused it, the area should return to normal in a day or two. If it doesn't, you should probably let a doctor look ate it.

I take it you can rule out shaving rash and an adverse reaction to any new skin products?

Yeah. I don't really grow hair under my lip and I haven't been using any new skin products. Will probably be going to the doctor before Thanksgiving.

The redness or darker coloration if caused by frostbite can hang around for months. As I said in my first reply, it happened to me.

I've been cleaning the area with an antiseptic and using a burn medication. It's healing nicely and the discoloration is fading already. Thanks!

I get wind blisters sometimes in winter but if you apply chapstick a couple times a day any blisters can be minimised. It think it's the dry cold/snow/wind combo. A lot of people in this region get it. Frostbite is more serious so if it's super chilly cover up with a face piece.
