Who's Your Favorite Gay TV/Movie Character, and What Is Your Favorite Gay TV/Movie Moment or Scene?
Don't know if this counts, really, but it was the first one that came to mind. Probably because it came at exactly the right time for me. And it sticks out even twenty years later.
I was in college, and I was in the earliest stages of "questioning". I wasn't even sure what I was questioning, really. I just knew that something was up, and I wasn't quite sure what it was. Because I was at college, I didn't watch much TV. A couple cartoons, and maybe a primetime show here and there. I had started watching Dinosaurs on ABC, and despite the obnoxious baby character, I found a lot to like in it, so I tried to catch it when it was on.
This particular episode was called "I Never Ate for My Father". The episode is on YouTube, but honestly, the entire episode isn't very good. It's just one scene that hit me. It involved the teenaged Robbie going to an initiation of the YMCA (Young Men's Carnivore Association), where he had to eat a mastodon. This isn't shown - instead, the scene picks up where Robbie is walking home with his friend Dave. End up that Robbie got sick to his stomach when the big moment came, and couldn't eat the mastodon. His friend consoles him, and tells him that maybe he's an herbivore. Robbie gets angry at the suggestion, but Dave tells him that it's no big deal, and lots of dinosaurs eat vegetables occasionally "...including me." Robbie is shocked and asks a few questions, and Dave invites him to come to a vegetarian place on the outskirts of town that weekend.
Despite the lameness of the rest of the episode, that scene stuck with me for weeks. I don't know how obvious it was to the general populace that Robbie's "vegetarianism" was a more acceptable way to talk about homosexuality (it WAS 1990), but it was pretty damn clear to me. And it took me many years to really understand why that particular scene appealed to me. Because it was a "coming out" scene - for Dave, not Robbie. And now Dave had somebody he could talk to about this stuff. And it started me wishing that maybe I could talk to somebody about the stuff I was going through, as well.
As I said, I don't know if it counts towards this thread. Robbie may have been my favorite character on that show, but that's damning with faint praise. And it's not like he was even gay - he was gay just in a metaphorical way. And it wasn't like they referred to it again after this episode ended. But it was the one that stuck with me the hardest.

Prue when she comfronts The Angel Of Death. Not only did I agree with her resentment towards Death 110%, I do not care what anyone says, The Death Of Death was just is EVIL! Second will be When Cordy and Oz caught Xander and Willow making out. The betrayal Cordelia felt when her worst suspecions were reality. She gave that loser a chance and he blew it.
Eternal youth and endless life. I'll sacrifice everything and everyone to obtain it
