All seeing eyes..
sun (positive)
moon (negative)
the eyes pointing arrow like a symbol of alchemical substance
triangle pointing down is feminine nature, the center dot looks like sol symbol
oh wait...it looks like a stylized astrological chart..with trines, squares and sextiles...
that's all I can give/guess![]()
Thank you! I'm particularly interested in the straight lines in the middle.
Love that tatto, love the lines
I think illuminati symbols and freemasonry designs are so pretty.
^ you meant the mountainous lines beyond the eyes?
All seeing eye, whom the sun and moon obey... represents God, or rather Man being God
Sword pointing to the heart represent justice
Pointy arrow going south is very "gender" symbolism...
my wild guess that the owner of this tat could be gay? ^^
I have to clarify something... Illuminati and Freemasons are not even close to the same thing. The former didn't exist very long, the latter is a venerable men's fraternity that any man of goodwill may petition to join.
Straight lines could be graphic representations of the square and compass... or maybe the cable tow ...
Cardinal points and virtues, here pointing south to represent beauty, the 2 crosses are fortitude, the 2 triangle pointing to the sides are prudence, and the triangle pointing north is justice.
The frame obviously sun flower:
from quickie;
The sunflower moves itself in the most direct position in front of the sun so it can get the maximum sun rays. This is symbolic of spiritual faith, and worship because we follow our belief system as the sunflower moves to face the life-giving rays of the sun.
http://www.whats-your-sign.com/symbo...r-meaning.html
It's power enhancing frame..
Circle with a dot inside, refers to the symbolism of the solar orb and the universe, dot represents an individual Brother within boundary line (circle) of his duty to God and man.
In Masonry symbolism, the sun and the moon are Boaz and Joakim, the two pillars of the temple. the eye with the Arrow down symbolizes dedication to a mission that cannot be completed, yet is honorable. In effect the fool. The fool is brighter than the sun, over his shoulder, so the sunflower always faces to enlightenment, being the person looking at the glyph.
The pyramid with the lines represents the Pleiades and their relationship to a location on the planet at one particular point in time. the point of reference is the human soul, which is shown by the circle in the triangle, although those proportions are unusual.
The set of lines above are local references, I believe.
Hope that helps.
^I believe the tat is half freemasonry and half astrology but the upside down triangle is not a pyramid but an astrological aspect
you were right about 2 pillars

The pyramid I am referring to is within the Pleiades in the center of the flower image. It is the representation of the soul's position within the Pleiades. The symbol above with the eye and the arrow looking symbol is a very complex glyph. The eye is the connection we have with God, or the god head itself, depending on other things not in this glyph. the arrow thing represents the way we intend to dedicate our energies.
Seghers, do you know where the person physically is who has the Tattoo? what continent?
@Boston= I doubt that pyramid is actually a pleiades.. The small stars -squares and 3 small triangles symbols are dead on astrology although there are 7 legends inside the sunflower. 7= Pleaides. I guess the owner use freemason energy to bless his natal chart? Im not a freemason but this kind of things startled me
Nishin also have good explanation above
"Straight lines could be graphic representations of the square and compass... or maybe the cable tow ...

by heart? sort of.,
Local references.. the place that the person is located.
Below the flower, you have a lotus, and that is vaginal symbolism. That with the two squares in the Pleiades star formation... it seems like this tattoo is a commemoration of something very important.
Birthlike.
There are eight lodge positions. There are eight lines.
This tattoo is probably a commemoration of someone who has risen to the lodge rank of Master.
^
Hmm..you seem seriously knowing this subject matter, I better shuh up
Hail Ijubbinatti!!
I really have interest in occult, I wish that could be a money making profession ^^
I love this shit
What is it that people find compelling about symbolism?
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did.
apparently this is a tattoo by thomas hooper, who has a thing for geometry and loves "mystic" symbols. so the lines don't really need to mean something ...

Interesting, this makes me want to have my half sleeve finished and fixed.
"Patrick O’Dell...photographs fearless people searching for their place in life and the talismans which will guide them there... The engravings will give strength to the adorned individuals, strength that they will require to proceed protected into uncharted territory."

^ That's beautiful.

Maybe BostonPirate was referring to the position of certain stars in our Galaxy , very much like StoneHenge at the Summer and Winter Solstice when the !st rays of the Live-giving sun are celebrated ?
That is what i thought , great Thread .
Just read Bostons reply makes sense though i still like the idea that the lines may represent positions within our Galaxy .

The eye sun and moon could also refer to a kabbalistic aspect, as the supernal triad of the tree of life, kether, chokmah, and binah. The sun being chokmah the supernal male aspect and the top of the right pillar of mercy, and the moon being Binah, the supernal female aspect which is the top of the left hand pillar of severity. The eye with the downward pointing ray looks to be a stylized version of one of the many glyphs for alchemical mercury. But at the same time, keeping with a tree of life theme, could be a representation of one passing over Da'ath, which is the great abyss between kether and tipheret. In tarot, the major arcana High Priestess represents this path between kether and a tipheret as the art or craft, piercing the veil between mortal understanding and hidden truths, which would make sense because most priestess cards in some way or another have a representation of the two pillars within the card's art.
Joakim and Boaz pillars are usually graphics on their own, appearing below the sun and moon, I'm not sure why they are not drawn here or if Sun and Moon alone represent them...
To me Sun and Moon belong to the EYE-SUN-MOON trilogy independently of the pillars.
Sun and moon represent opposites (male/female, day/night, light/dark, life/death etc) and are balanced by/subjects of the all seeing eye ("God") which they obey.
It is also interesting to notice Sun and Moon have been reversed, Sun should be on the left and Moon on the right...
The triangle pointing down represents the feminine nature… yet the triangles above this female symbol are placed asymmetrically.
What means the compass with its sixteen points?
The lines are as the lines on a sundial or as rays of light hitting a mirrored surface.
Seghers, I feel honored that you'd ask me, in particular, this question.
Honestly, though ,I know relatively little about secret societies. I do, however, see the Illuminati as a right-wing conspiracy fiction. As far as I can tell, no credible evidence whatsoever has surfaced that proves that the society actually exists.
By contrast, however, the Freemasons most certainly do exist, but I know little about them.
I was thought like that the first place but unsure to address since the sun and moon might not a good symbolism for pillar of severity (binah) or pillar of mercy (chokmah) The fool is always Kether (the eyes) no doubt. I thought Saturn as binah and Neptune/ Mazlot as chokmah but indeed there is positive-negative output on those pillars.
The freemasonry-kabbalistic symbolism is very complex..but yet they won't contradict one another, I believe.

Exactly. Since every other part of the glyph seems to be well considered, I would think that the artist was aware of what the tattoo commemorates, and added his own stylized statement... perhaps on this splinter group of the masons known as rogue masons...
The inverted pyramid in the center of the flower is also present.
This is the tarot image borrowed and altered to create the center upper image
Superimpose the eye over the head, and the leg cross and the foot point down, would correspond with the grounding element below the eye. Then You have the sun and the moon where the hands are holding the wands.
So if you put that over the eight lines, and put the Pleiades below the lines...
.............................................
The center of the flower image... invert and super impose these two images over the center of the flower... once again pointing to a rogue
One could never say if the Illuminatti are real, or a fictional design, of course.
But if there was such a thing, this is the kind of symbolism they would use and exactly the way they would use it in.
"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "![]()
