I learned that Frederick Delius is very boring. His music sounds like clock winding down. It has descending phrases which go slower then slower.

(an exception his 1888 Florida Suite which sounds like a Stephen Speelburg soundtrack)

I learned that in Japan when fire trucks respond with sirens, the firefighters apologize to drivers over loud speakers for making everyone pull over and they also politely ask drivers on the road to give them way. In Western world, firetrucks blow their horns and expect you to pull over because it is the law.

I learned that learned can be spelled "learnt". Or spelt learnt.

No for realzies though, I learned that William Shatner is 82! 82 frikkin' years old! Granted he had had work done but still he looks to me no more than like 65. Easily could pass for being in his 50s. I'm blown away. Holy crap.

That's the idea of pulling the face behind the ears, filling up the remaining furrows and replant the barren pits... as long as there are people able to buy it.

In the 2012 election, certain individuals tried to amend my state's constitution to create a "personhood bill" similar to the one that will be voted on in North Dakota. They didn't even get enough signatures to put it on the ballot, though.

    No.

No, this isn't a video of me playing the piano. I wanted music which was both bold and happy to mark an event. I hadn't noticed the event —until that nice man Borg mentioned to me in a PM— that this is my first post in my second millenium in JUBland.

Mike Nesmith's mum invented correction fluid (it's probably common knowledge but news travels slowly round here). Business thrived and when Mike inherited her fortune he devoted it to good works: he co-produced the film Repo Man. He also wrote the song Different Drum. Linda Ronstadt's original backing group were the Eagles.
Yesterday a midwife on the telly was explaining that umbilical cords are not all the same: some are long, thin and straight, some are curved, some are short and thick, some have kinks in them and so on. I meant to post that yesterday but I was so intrigued by Archilochus that I forgot why I opened the thread.
