Re: What have you learnt today?
This made me think about something today. My boss got fired from my work today because she had sex with a coworker while at work. Mind you she has two lovely daughters and is married still. She literally just fucked up her entire life in fellow swoop and I often wonder why someone would basically throw it all away like that.

She's by far not the first to fuck up her life that way... it goes back to Helen of Troy and the Trojan wars right up to Jerry Springer's career.

Look up in some Looney Tunes.
I learned that the Ramones are all dead, and probably clean-rotten by now.

Re: What have you learnt today?
I've been wearing shoes with too thin a sole and since leaving the car on the drive to walk into town and back this last year or so, I've developed plantar faciitis - the tendon in the heel and underside of the foot has 'microtears in it. Luckily stretching the tendon has helped enormously as well as getting some new sports shoes.

... oh, and that I have definitely banned Keats from my Pantheon of Greater Scribblers for Posterity. His void will be filled up by Madame de Sévigné.
A most strange and unique case: I used to practicly adore him for his Lamia, and now he is not that much to me anymore, and precisely that poem even less than some others. The "Augustan-Romantic" period is now simply the "British English Classicism" era, basically Defoe, Austen and Byron.

Muriel Spark..: UAB. 1992. English philology. Freshpeople year. A Far Cry From Kensington. Blwweh!!
Apart from those stats and "pisseur de copie", Cyril Biggs/Aubrey something, the intake of beer on a sausage by a dog, a guy who apparently was too dark-haired to be genuinely of The Isles and the touches around the eyes of the lady prominently featured on the huge pic puc on the back cover, I remember nothing from it all...

^ Far Cry from Kensington is from her middle period. Her later ones are as taut and curt as telegrams.
She's kind of curt and bitchy and aware we are all full of garbage. A lot of them deal with hate and suicide in a witty way. The movie of The Drivers Seat with Liz Taylor and Andy Warhol in Rome is interesting.

1988 was "her middle period"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muriel_Spark

the only cool guy of seven brothers. He lived in our house when I was still a kid and I am really upset but it was not unexpected. He had ALS.
the only one alive of my uncles is the one who did not emigrate to Canada.

I'm learning that algebra is friggin' aggravating!!!
Actual problem on my homework that I'm working on, right now...
"Two minor league baseball players got a total of 340 hits. Washington had 16 more hits than Sanchez. Find the number of hits for each player."
Why I ♥ Betty White - Her quote to Huffington Post's Chris Harnick:
Oh! I didn't know I was a gay icon. I get a lot of mail -- but I don't get many bad letters -- but I got a woman the other day that was so upset with me because they said, "How do you feel about the gay marriage thing?" and my answer to that is, "I really don't care with whom you sleep, I just care what kind of a decent human being you are." I figure all the rest of it is your business and not mine. And not hers, incidentally.

he's the only one not allowed in Canada because of his criminal history.
we are not superficial here in Canada my parents and other immigrants made this city and country great.
imagine they accepted me for being the gay son and they came from a village of maybe 100 people
they were special.
