Jersey City/ New York City 2013

Just trying to gauge interest in a JUB meet the New York City area that will be centered in the Jersey City waterfront with trips by train and ferry into Manhattan for a weekend of JUB invading the Big Apple for a gay old time! If enough interest maybe twice to accomodate more who may be interested. Ride the subways, walk the bustling streets...take in the unique vibe of the City that never sleeps!

The first would be in late April..if there is a second it would occur around mid September. If by this time in February the interest is there would definitely do it. Any ideas or interest please chime in so we can make this happen!

Funding isn't a problem, but timing [late April] may be difficult...I hope for a second one in September (AFTER Labor Day weekend) and I would be pretty much assured of getting there.

It's so great to see some talk of a JUB meet, I just wish this particular Forum wasn't so terribly "hidden" from view. (It only comes up under the "View All Forums" option.) If, and as soon, as something becomes definite or close to it, please REMIND ME so that I can link to it in my signature.

I'm kind of disappointed this isn't really gaining any traction....I'm glad Frank you're still excited by the prospect and if I can do both, one for some in April and another for you and others in September, I'd do that. But it just doesn't look like there's much interest other than yourself..though I'd have no problem at all if only you showed up. Love to have ya...but just puxzzling New York area meets never gather too much real interest. Big Apple ain't boring!

Huntneo is coming to New York with his partner in an unrelated trip but he will be meeting with a few local Jubbers( don't know specifically who they are) in February, look forward to meeting him and the locals....hopefully this might spur interest in a arger scale meet. But if it were just you or only a few it would still be worth it.

June would rule me out entirely - I *never* travel "overnight" in that month (nor July)...

I'm all there for something after Labor Day, though.

Frank, that's perfect...I knew you would be able to do one in September and definitely would love you to come here in September if everything can work out in its favor. I'm just a bit bummed NOTHING even got any interest for April, but that's gone now and my brother and I will take a vacation for a few days instead...probably Las Vegas, wanna see the new hotels that have gone up since we were last there at the meet a few years back.

Just interested if anyone wants to do even an informal, no itinerary couple of days in June... with the backdrop of Manhattan, and Brooklyn and the whole New York experience just baffling no New York meet of any real kind....even informal with just a few people(which I know you like because of its intimacy and informality, can really just get to know each other a little better in that setting compared to a megameet like St. Louis)... July and August can get too sweltering and humid, so until September(which is near perfect in terms of weather for this area usually) last real opportunity to get together and have some fun.

Latest news is that I appear to have something going on in Illinois on September 14, an elusive thing I've been trying to pin down for a while now, so anything starting the 20th or later (that's the Friday, right?) should work for me. That includes pretty much all of October as well. I'd prefer to be doing something else ON October 5 (if that's the Saturday), but I could do that date, too, if nothing else works or it maximizes attendance for a JUB meet.

I agree entirely with Sausy; I'm surprised there aren't 20 to 45 JUB meets per year in the United States alone (and perhaps 10 to 30 more elsewhere), and sometimes as many as three geographically diverse ones on the same weekend, etc. I'm most surprised that the Northeast has NEVER had an announced one. I know at one point there was a group of 4 to 7 (???) JUB people getting together weekly in or near Boston, but those weren't "announced" meets and I think they were in the middle of the week.

JUB meets are a blast, and just about anybody who has ever gone to one has enjoyed it. I am not aware of anything like "hookup pressure" ambiance for those who may be skittish, either. Hookups can happen, but it's all about each other meeting, chillin' and having a good time.

I've been surprised for years that a "TYPICAL" weekend doesn't have JUB meets in Marseille, Hartford, Chicago, Houston, and San Jose, for example. (i.e. these places are mentioned only as examples, as well.)

Sausy is aware that I'm planning to be in the area, potentially as early as around the beginning of calendar Fall - when the weather is still often quite nice. It would be great to see you...but I guess I wouldn't know how to tell loki81 as he's no longer here. Criostoir and others, I would hope, might show up (and maybe some out of towners from places like North Carolina, etc.)
