    Should I Send This?

As you know, if you've read my last thread, I've been fretting over my job for what I think are justified concerns. I've come to the decision, that despite my short time there, it's best for me to move on. (I'm saying this after waking up at 6:41am, on the verge of crying again and with a sour stomach).

I have to go back to the office at some point to finalize my time sheet, in order to get paid for the days I did out in, but also to hand in my set of office keys. As such, should I send this to my boss so that she is not completely blindsided, or should I wait until tomorrow to bring this all up anyways?

    -Redacted-,

Effective immediately I will be resigning my post as administrative coordinator with -Redacted-. Over the past few days I have given it a lot of thought, and this is not a choice I make lightly, but I feel that I'm not the right fit for the position (or the position for me), and I don't wish to waste any of -Redacted- time by filling a position that is better suited to someone other than myself.

I want to thank you for taking a chance on me, and I apologize for not being able to fulfil the position asked of me. I will be in Tuesday morning to hand in my keys and finalize my time sheet.

    Sincerely,

    Scott -redacted-

I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I'm afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently...

What considerations are there around offering notice?

    Re: Should I Send This?

I think you should not resign or at least delay it. This may be the challenge you need at this time in your life. If I understand correctly, you are been mostly unemployed or underemployed in recent month.
I realized the workplace is confusing with no instructions, but perhaps you are too used to being guided through everything and now is your time to make something of a very bad situation. Since we don't know much about your work, it's not easy to advise, but is there any part of the job you are able to do confidently. Deal with small things first, then move on to great, more difficult and complicated things. So, what if you can do everything exactly right. I think you a perfectionist and a messy job situation challenges you beyond what you thing you can handle. You can deal with crying and sour stomachs. Read stories of the most successful people and you realize they often had more failures than successes and were often unsure of themselves and their decisions.

Perhaps you are the one to turn things around. I assume you took the job working for a company you believed was worth your time and effort, right?

Most of us have wanted to run away from things that frightened us or overwhelmed us. But when we refused to do so, the rewards and personal satisfaction that came from hanging in there were more valuable than any paycheck.

If you choose to quit, your letter is fine.
Everyone wants to be heard. No one wants to listen.

didn't you just get the job like last week or something? how long have you been there?

and this is kind of the wrong time for you to quit especially before christmas? that's like in the next 5 weeks.
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry

The only problem is they probably won't give you a reference.

    Re: Should I Send This?

I haven't seen your earlier thread, so I don't know the background to this. It appears from what refuji says that you may only have had the job for a short while. I'd say that you should persevere rather than bail out at this stage. If the job really doesn't work out in the medium term, look for something else before you resign. It's far easier to find another job from a position of strength (ie employment) than when unemployed.

Don't burn your bridges behind you!

I have changed from a 5 day work week down to a 3 day week in an awful work situation so I can chase a part-time job or another position.
