The president apparently has promised to review any voter petition that has more than 25,000 signatures on it.

Texas hit 64,000 yesterday, but Gov Perry has indicated the state of Texas is declining to take legal action. If the people that signed that petition want to secede, they have to get rid of Perry and replace him with someone who is more secessionist than him.

Good luck on that one.

It would seem that the Texas Gov't has decided to also go forward with the affordable care act. Perry doesn't want to lose Texas's place at the Teat of Federal funds.

Who would have thought that Mr Secessionist Perry would decide to not support the admittedly foolish petition because he wants the benefits of Obamacare.

The Texas Democratic Party can't find their asses out of a paper bag, even if provided with a flashlight, a map, and GPS smartphone.

Their strategy seems to be to "wait" until the Latino vote is large enough to actually make a difference in State Wide Politics.

And I'm thinking, that the State Democratic Party could ACTUALLY LEAD!

Texas Latinos voted for Paul Sadler by a nearly 3 to 1 margin over the "Tea Party" favorite Ted Cruz who's only connection with Texas Latinos (or Texans for that matter) is that he has a Latin Surname.

Texas Democrats, and the State Party platform is right on Education, Right on Healthcare, Right on the State's infrastructure, Right on Bi-Partisanship, Right on Gay Equality, Right on Religious Freedoms, but the State Party holds back their financial political "war chests" for "just the right" candidate.

That and the State Democratic Party takes its marching orders from the Democratic National Committee.

Which is one of the reasons why Texas Democrats, and Texans as a whole lose, and have been losing State wide Elections since 1994.

The DNC doesn't want Texas to be a "swing state." It's too big, there are too many counties, too many precincts, and a ground game would be to expensive for the National Party to fight here.

The Republican National Committee knows that to, so the two national parties have reduced Texas (and the loudmouth extremists here) as some sort of "political backwater."

Texas Republicans put their party before the people in every election in this State, and TX-Beau is right:

I read a rather scholarly article on it recently, and the authors said they were being conservative in their estimates to hold it to eighty percent -- that it could have been ninety.

And the diseases spread fast enough that by the time Lewis and Clark got to bargaining for horses to cross the Rockies, the tribes they dealt with had been rebounding in population for at least four generations. The article noted that via trade links, infections brought by the Conquistadors would have reached British Columbia within a single generation.
