Okay, this is going to be a bit of an experiment. So bear with me...

In the past, JUB members have started threads that open up a question and answer session to the OP. They're fun and engaging and specific to one person. This thread is going to try to do that for everyone.

In this thread, I ask that posters pose a question to the member above. The question should address that member specifically and seek to find out something you don't already know about them. If you've been asked a question, reply to the best of your abilities by quoting the post and then posit a new question for the most recent poster.

If you're posting in this thread, you should be willing to participate. Only answer questions that you're comfortable answering. Ask legitimate questions that are conducive to conversation, whether it's serious or fun.

If you're interested in getting to know more about your fellow JUB members, let's try this. Let's build bridges, laugh a little, and enjoy each other's company.

Never successfully, no. I managed to bring two friends from different parts of my life together and it didn't turn out. Which made for some awkward interactions for a bit.

oh.... i just wanted to be silly. you can say that i'm getting more and more comfortable with my sexuality where i can actually put barbie dolls in the avatar without feeling ashamed, uncomfortable, or grossed out.

Tons to do. Live on a lake -- we call them ponds -- so have usual summer fun and in winter ice-fishing and ice-sailing; pond is 400+ acres. Social life a little limited because state is so spread out.

I left JUB because I had been in a good place where I no longer needed what this place provided for me. Things, sometimes, can unravel quickly and am back to seek solace in some ways.

We still have thousands of years before apocalypse..

I have pictures of myself in my album, friends can see me, and I've had myself in my avatar too. I don't think I'll be posting myself in the picture thread because I don't want the attention. As for my voice, well I still haven't figured out how to, or what to say, plus I'm sick right now so I sound awful. I'll do that though.

Thank you. I don't know who it is, BENDERBOY posted it in the 'what you think JUBBERS look like' thread to represent me. I saw it and thought it was a nice picture for my avatar because I often dress like that when it's hot and have a similar build. If I don't use my own picture I like ones that represent me in some way.

What is your backgroud that you are so helpful in Health & WB/ing and in Coming Out?

The positive feedback of quite a few people give me the idea that they appreciate my answers and that they like the way how I try to help them with solving some problems. Besides that, I like to improve my written skills of English and my skills to make quick replies in English.

68, retired attorney (civil corporate law). Moved to Maine to get away from smog, pollution, and hirdes of people. Now coping with neuropathy (legs) or beginning Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Have 3 acres on a 460 ac lake, which I enjoy immensely. Have a middle aged gay married couple to take care of me. All in all, life is good, for now.

Very comfortable. It's just not an issue, especially along the Coast. Of course if you stay in the closet you create your own problems. Generally when i go into like a drs. office I'll flat out say "I'm gay."

^ I know that was directed to someone else--but I'll step in and answer. I have given advice on JUB quite a bit, but yes--I have and still do need 'help' sometimes.

I grew up in the right era and in the right place, I think. Despite Applalachia's reputation as a bastion of rednecks, one can find oases of higher learning there. Not far away from Knoxville lies Oak Ridge, which the US government built during WW2 to develop the nuclear isotopes for the nuclear bomb. Since I grew up there, I and my classmates had a lot of pressure placed on us during the 1970s to get a good education. Indeed, Oak Ridge has the second highest concentration of PhDs in the country (Los Alamos is the first); Oak Ridge offers second-year Calculus in its local high school.

Moreover, during the 70s, we didn't have cellphones or the Internet, and we only had two (or three, if it rained) channels to watch on the TV, so I, having very little to do, read voraciously. If I had nothing else to read, I'd read the encyclopedia or even the dictionary. (No wonder I was so smart in those days )

Since then, I have taken steps to improve my writing, as well. Thank you for noticing.
