Fox News argues over Obama win

This is hilarious. I saw Huff Post mention this earlier and well to put it succinctly

    Fact and Fox News collide

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/1...tml?ref=topbar
Fox News had what can only be described as an insane argument with itself over whether or not President Obama had won Ohio, and the presidency.

The network seemed quite confident in its projections at first, but suddenly, pundit Karl Rove who, as leader of a huge conservative Super PAC has something of an interest in the outcome of the race began to pour cold water on the call.

LOL... Obama is ahead by 85,000 votes in Ohio, 56,000 in Florida and 50,000 in Virginia.

Fox News is in SEVERE denial about the facts... they can't accept their massive loss. 332 Electoral Votes is my final projection. Florida will be called for Obama soon.

I think the American people didn't fall for his crap. Karl Rove is just a Bush era parasite. I wish he would just go away. The idiot called 300+ electoral votes... but he was wrong about who was getting them.

The 61 year-old, a high profile political pundit for the Rupert Murdoch-owned television network, warned presenters needed to be “careful” before counting had finished and lambasted presenters for "intruding on the process".
His comments provoked an extraordinary row with anchor Chris Wallace, who was left visibly stunned by the questioning. Another presenter, Bret Baier, later suggested Mr Rove potentially needed to be examined by a psychiatrist.

    And I missed it all.

At the time he was talking, he had a point; it really shouldn't have been called yet. But what he wasn't saying was that the Republican areas that still hadn't reported were less populous than the Democratic areas, which meant that Obama's 900 vote lead was destined to start increasing, and unlikely to get overtaken. Sure, if Cincinnati had suddenly voted wildly differently than in the past, Romney coud have pulled it out, but none of the precincts in the area had deviated significantly from historical patterns, so there was no reason to even hope those yet unreported would be anything different.

In short, Rove had a point -- it shouldn't really have been called for Obama at that time -- but in order to get what he was implying, that Romney could still pull it off, required some rather outlandish assumptions.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Seen a clip of Oreilly saying if Obama wins its because they know they can get free stuff if he is POTUS. I have many friends who work like I do and we don't get shit and neither do a lot of his supporters. Is he implying no Republican supporters are not on gov assistance or unemployment ? Dumb fuck.

It did change the election, but not enough to change the game. It might have given Virginia to Obama, but that's about all I can see.

Perhaps but not by that much. I think Obama's popularity in Ohio with auto workers got him that state... and Ohio's solid economy.

Rove thought that with x% left and Republican "to come" that maybe the call was too early

megan kelly going into the fact folks was pretty good

    and they stood their ground

    this is a bullshit story

rove has credibility - his role in getting gwb elected 2x gives him that

Rove thought wrongly. Most of the votes left in Ohio were from URBAN areas like Cuyahoga County (Cleveland) and in the county where Toledo is (I forget the name of it). Obama ended up with a 100,000+ vote lead.

rove has credibility - his role in getting gwb elected 2x gives him that
Rove has no credibility. He lost it in 2008 and he lost it completely in 2012. He said Romney would get in excess of 300 electoral votes. The man has no understanding of what is going on... and his entire system failed to organize voters. All he got was those stupid crossroads video ads that cost $300+ milllion and didn't describe shit. Those ads even came on here in California... who knows why... they had these paid actors who usually said "I voted democrat in 2004, 2008 but this year I'm going to change".

Here is a quote from a conservative... acknowledge some truth that Super PACs like Rove's American Crossroads have no credibility anymore.

Conservative activist Richard Viguerie said in a statement Wednesday that "in any logical universe," Rove "would never be hired to run or consult on a national campaign again and no one would give a dime to their ineffective Super PACs, such as American Crossroads."

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/p...,2643102.story

His ads were complete crap and couldn't even attack on the issues. The republican party failed miserably in organization on the ground and that is something democrats are very effective on.

now chris matthews saying he was glad for hurricane sandy ......... that's something else
So what? Chris Matthews doesn't represent those on the left. He misspoke.

FEMA has already paid out millions. Fox News bringing on one person to do an interview doesn't constitute what most people in Staten Island and Brooklyn think. Most approve of the government's handling.

It's extremely hard for me to accept that you think that no one is suffering from the horrors of Sandy and now the snow storm.

The news of the hurricane will slowly leak out during the coming days and weeks.

    Rove is over.

He both helped make and then destroy the Republican party as a credible opposition force for the White House.

Maybe all the billionaires who gave Rove huge piles of other people's money to play with should re-think their strategies.

This is pathetic. People voted for Obama because he offered oppressed groups dignity rather than more oppression, and the people overall - a direction forward. You can try to trash his victory, but it makes you look like nothing other than a sore loser. The American people made a clear decision as to who they prefer, and it showed through not just the electoral, but the popular vote. Deal with it with at least a little bit of grace before you embarrass yourself completely.
That we are capable only of being what we are, remains our unforgivable sin.

Well, thats good, you shouldn't accept it because that is not what he said. Of course people are suffering, how is FEMA suppose to help everyone in 10 days.

You might want to reread what he said.

It took less than 10 days for the press and dem's to make Katrina a political and racial issue.

It's extremely hard for most of us to believe that you keep reading statements and claiming things they don't say.

You mean the college-educated whites, especially those with a post-graduate degree?

Ten days after Katrina, FEMA was still failing to do its job. Ten days after that, it was still failing.

    This time, they acted.

He doesn't like that. If he says Obama went back to campaigning during Sandy, that's an important issue to be discussed. If you say that Katrina was a relief disaster and Sandy has been dealt with much more swiftly and efficiently, that's politicizing.

I mean, seriously, Kuli, get with the program!

    Heh.

I have a helpful perspective about FEMA: in the last few disasters we've had here, they've sometimes been fantastic and sometimes been total boobs. I no longer expect them to do anything but bumble through, so when they do better than that, I applaud.

I'm waiting to see if they can match this performance the next time around.
