ATTACK OF THE LIBERAL ELITE
I was responding to a dear friends observation.
I'm good
Mitt woulda been a much better choice for the economy
And IMO was quite a good candidate in the end
Took him too long to get his sea legs and comfort
Hopefully the Presidents bipartisanship photo op with CC
Is the beginning of something
I think this will work out

At a 60/40 favor Obama his popular vote count and percertage of votes cast increase notably.
Still waiting for support on that one.
Certainly not with his horrendous tax plan.
He was a terrible candidate really. Never seen a guy make so many gaffes before...
Palbert, I beleive everything is due November 20th... but I could be wrong... if I'm right, they better get that finished soon. It may impact the remaining two House races here in California up for grabs.. but I expect both democrats to win them (Ami Bera and Scott Peters).
An update on the House races remaining.. we are up to 198 now (and soon 199 once Peters race is called)...
http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalert...d-lungren.html - Democrat Ami Bera has booted out long time house republican Dan Lungren (51.1%-48.9%). Lungren was heading up the new Congressman orientation ironically. Ami Bera has won by 5,700 votes and AP has called the race. Bera was previously defeated 7% by Lungren prior to redistricting. If JQ was here he should know that Ami Bera is Indian-American (of Indian background, not Native American for clarification).
The remaining race in San Diego with Scott Peters (D) is still close and he leads by 2,200 votes, but he's expected to win it.
These two races represent the increasing lock democrats have on California... they represent the years of hard work the democrats have done to minimalize republicans in this state and take over the districts they still control. San Diego especially... once a leaning republican stronghold may no longer be.
Oh and apparently Allen West is still putting up a huge fuss about the "way" votes were counted. what a douchebag... he still wants to take Florida to court.
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/...essional-race/
Rep. Bilbray, long in the pockets of corporations which funded a very expensive campaign, has been unseated by Scott Peters and conceded defeat. Scott Peters won 50.7%-49.3% and this has widened with the democrat favorable early and absentee ballots still being counted. This solidifies democrats hold on California. Now San Diego is flipping to our direction.
We are up to 199 seats when Democrat Scott Peters kicked off tea party wacko and corporation supported Brian Bilbray ... maybe reaching 200 is purely symbolic... but there are two more races in contention. One in North Carolina involving Mike McIntyre and another involving Ron Barber in Arizona. There has been SERIOUS FUCKING DISENFRANCHISEMENT in Arizona with Latino voters, and that explains why Barber is so close.
As far as Bilbray... it's another tea party wacko we don't have to worry about:
http://www.scottpeters.com/press-rel...e-isnt-touting
Ron Barber's results should be done by Sunday... but I must say Arizona is seriously screwed up like Florida... they take forever to count their ballots.
http://www.gvnews.com/news/local/res...a4bcf887a.html - Presently Barber has increased his lead from around just 100 votes to 923. I'm cautiously optimistic he will win. Why do I keep talking about Barber? You guys may remember Representative Gabrielle Giffords... well that's HER district and Ron Barber was the one designated by the Democratic Party to replace her. This race is very symbolic and important. McSally is yet another tea party nut that has to be defeated.
http://www.wwaytv3.com/2012/11/16/mc...-grow-slightly - The race in North Carolina also shows Mike McIntyre (D)'s lead over his opponent increasing slightly. This race is even closer than Barber's.
Why are those places just taking so long to have their ballots counted and announced? If polls close on the same day, how come some folks elsewhere can get their shit together and declare whist these areas just can't count that fast?
Many states were still counting early ballots and absentee ballots... it's really slow. Arizona and Florida are notoriously slow with counting. California is getting all results in because we have a lot of voters...
Either way, it's all due Nov 20th I believe.
Edit: Oh and a Judge rejected Allen West's full recount bid. That basically puts the nail into his attempt to stay in power.
Remember some states had pages and pages of Amendments that voters had to read and vote on...Here in South Carolina I think we had 1 or 2 which meant I spent maybe 10-min in the booth...
Here in The States on a MAJOR election night if people are still standing in line when the polls are scheduled to close they still have a right to vote. The Polls will stay open until the last person in line votes....
Here's a good example...I'll use my Country Bumpkin State....Democrats always win big in my complacent home town of Columbia, SC....Dems lose about 99% state-wide in the surrounding Cities/rural areas....So even if I'm in Columbia waiting in line to Vote @ 1am in the morning if most of the polls have closed state-wide then the State is gonna go ahead and give South Carolina to Romney because he won every other city in the State except my hometown....
My Town is one of the biggest cities in the State but there's not enough people to match so many surrounding Towns that vote Republican....So, so Sad but I Love my state all the same...
Democrats need to start thinking about how they are going to win the House otherwise nothing will get done since Republicans will hold us to ransom
Thanks for explaining guys!![]()
Of the two remaining races:
http://www.sfgate.com/news/article/V...ly-4046327.php
Ron Barber has won after the continuing counts of remaining votes increased his to more than 1,400 votes. AP called that race.
It appears Mike McIntyre did win, but it is so close (655 votes) it could spark a recount if requested:

West gets a recount.

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country." John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
Errr wrong. That's for a partial recount and it still hasn't changed anything. West wanted a more complete recount but a judge denied his request.

Pay attention!
West really needs to go...

I wonder what his exucse will be when he loses again?
Huffington Post reports the Democrats are now up to 200 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Ron Barber officially won Gabby's seat!
Thank goodness! Martha McSally was another tea party nut... it was the absentee and early ballots that evaporated McSally's early election day lead (she was a few thousand votes ahead at one point).
I wonder what's going on with Mike McIntyre... he's one of the conservative bluedog democrats.
http://watchdogs.blogs.starnewsonlin...onal-district/
He supposedly beat Rouzer but by 660~ votes... which is only a fraction ahead. A recount could be ordered.
We could be up to 201 seats. This leaves us in good position to contest for the House in the midterms.
http://news.yahoo.com/floridas-west-...203104478.html
Sore loser West can't accept the result... he's making non-existent claims of voter fraud. Murphy's lawyers ask him to come up with proof and he doesn't present any. The partial lead HE DEMANDED increased Murphy's lead to 2,100 votes, even though that was done after the deadline and the original results will be presented since time ran out.
Someone can't accept defeat.
Seems that in many cases, the Republican's redistricting has Back fired on them, and hopefully it will back fire even more so in mid-term.

OMG.. he FINALLY conceded. It became obvious when any recounts actually increased Murphy's lead. Allen West has conceded. That's great... one tea party nut gone... one less windbag to hear about.
I been reading more about Patrick Murphy (who is only 29 years old) and he has an interesting story... he used to be republican and support Mitt Romney but abandoned the party just a year ago... and is pro-LGBT. In addition he also cares about the environment.
Oh and pending the results from Mike McIntyre's (D) race, we'll have 201 seats in the House. This leaves us in a good position for the 2014 midterms I think.
This man can smile.
Serious Irony Alert:
http://news.yahoo.com/irony-alert-mi...-election.html
As the vote has been tallied up, it appears Mitt Romney captured 47% of the vote... lol... poetic justice.
Mittens put his foot into his mouth repeatedly... much like some right wingers on here...
All Allen West had to do was Follow Crazy Joe Wilson's lead and shut the Fuck up...Allen just went on & on & on until he talked his way right out of office.....Just deserts...
I saw Patrick Murphy on one of the MSNBC's shows and he's deff an OLD 29..Attractive but I thought he was at least 39...The fact that he WAS a Republican that happily supported Mitt tells me he's a Moderate and NOT a true Democrat....
I thought it was strange Patrick said VERY little about the Dems or Obama winning the election during his interview on MSNBC...Now I know why he's deff NOT a real Democrat...
Patrick Murphy is a defender of the environment and is pro-LGBT rights... he's very much a democrat. He is a real democrat and he supported Obama in his re-election bid. LEts not be so dismissive.
Let’s not be dismissive over a Converted Republican?.......LOL…..Yeah,right…..Patrick is in a Republican District that happily backed that Nut-case A. West 2yrs ago. The Voters in that District didn’t like Obama then and they sure as hell don’t like Obama now. We’ll see how Mr. Murphy votes over the next 2 yrs..I have yet to see a Converted Republican drink out of the same Democratic punch Bowl alongside his Colleagues…
Some freshmen want to be Stars while others want to work hard for their Districts…I’ll wait and see where Patrick fits in…He’s doing National media and Loving every second of it…
That's not true at all. There have been stark demographic shifts in this country throughout. A county like Riverside County long had a history of right wing candidates in California... and suddenly they elect Raul Ruiz. Times are changing regardless.

You are FOREVER the Never-wavering King....LOL....That makes you very interesting and very stubborn....I wonder if you're the same way when you're not connected to Cyber-space...
I don't know if the counting has finished but there are states that had to count the Mail-in Absentee ballots...One of the states couldnt start counting until a week or more after the election.....The counting is usually completed before December...
Mitt and his Campaign staffers are still in Shock...Sometimes I wonder if Mitt is shocked that Obama out-campaigned him or by the Fact that the overwhelming White Vote he got did not carry him to Victory?
I have to admit I was surprised that a Historical number of White Christians didnt camp out @ the Polls and show up in Vans(we do EVERYTHING together as a Group in Vans)...I know Senator John Kerry is scratching his head...In the 2004 election they arrived at the Polls with Pitchforks they borrowed from The Devil...I would LOVE to know if Mitt's Mormonism played any kind of role with that particular voting Block...The Christian Community has been so freaking quiet...Very,very odd...
As little Baptists we were taught Mormonism was a cult that came from Satan.
ATTACK OF THE LIBERAL ELITE
No one ever said it, and the media tippy-toed around the whole issue - but I will contend religion was a bigger factor than anyone is willing to admit.
ATTACK OF THE LIBERAL ELITE
No that his fundie base had to overcome years of being taught his that religion was heretical and non-christian. That HE was a non-Christian heretic.
All my baptist relatives had problems with his Mormonism - it definitely damped down their enthusiasm for a candidate they were unsure about anyway. SOMEONE should have addressed it, from his campaign, but it was the great Elephant wearing magic undies in the room for the entire campaign.
