No surprise to me, and I'm a big Anderson fan. Enjoyed the show at first; loved when his mother was on. I remember her slogan back in the 70's and 80's when she was selling her clothing line "My Gloria Vanderbilt bottoms are the tops". IIRC???
Anyway, I started to find his show frustrating to watch as his "reporter gotcha kinda of schtick" that works on CNN did not translate well to a talk show format. He asks questions and before the responder can answer, boom, interrupted. It annoyed me so much I just stopped watching.
Poor Anderson Cooper.
The show was just a bit too bland tho. Sucks for him.
While I've only seen half an episode, I find it a shame.. I really like Anderson, he seems like such a nice man. I'm not worried for his future though. It's just the way the business is.
big fan of his too, but his talk show did suck. He makes a better CNN reporter than anything else. Somebody on here posted once that he has orgys at his place on the weekends, and ever since I read that, I picture that in my head everytime I see him now.
love him...still wanna fuck him
...but no suprise to me....his topics were ridiculous and his obsession with mentioning 'real housewives' every fuckin episode got old....quick
I dunno if this makes any sense but he was just "too serious" for daytime talk shows. It is next to impossible to make the transition from daytime to prime time and vice versa. How long did Katy Couric last as a nighttime news anchor? Exactly.

Katie lasted 14 months as news anchor. Put her in a 60 minutes type setting and she'd be okay but America still has a coded sexism when it comes to the news. How many female meteorologists, political corespondents and sports analysts do you see on the [local] news? Exactly.
well... that's true.there was one on nbc 4 and another one on channel 7 but the one on channel 7 was some crazy woman that falsely reported about being raped.
don't know what happened to her.
but if katie acts more alive and not like a dead fish scared to get dirty and hands on like ellen or oprah, she might last longer than anderson even though she's very likely to get cancelled.
but you're right though. she's finished.

well, he does kind of look scary when he throws on that serious "you're in trouble now" face when he reports the news sometimes.he is a bit overrated.
the thing about him is aside from a suit and him in a t-shirt ready to get dirty. i can only see him getting silly and telling dirty jokes as far as acting out of character. can't really see him being a freak at all. that is just something weird. if it was wolf blizter having orgies, that would seem way more believable than anderson cooper doing that. i think chris matthews and bill o'reilly are more freaky than anderson cooper.

I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did. Although he seems like a lovely man he's a colossal bore, and imo very uncomfortable in his own skin, not good for a talk show host.

Until he gets eyebrows, I just don't see good things happening. . .
Not Surprising Anderson should of never use the Regis and Kelly format. Every show that who uses that format show don't last long.
Hes a good reporter but probably the most boring man ever imo
He's Anderson Cooper. he'll be alright.
Also: a person can be an extremely different individual in their personal life than what they appear to be professionally.
I never watched it. I actually thought it was a brand new show altogether before reading the article (this is what I get for basing my information off of TV commercials).
Anderson has his own talk show??? His boyfriend is a total hottie!
BUT AC360 won't be cancelled.
I am working on what form my JUB reincarnation will take...
He had no business having a talk show. He's just not that kind of controversy-maven persona, and he's not a fit for trash time TV... if you're not one or the other, or Goddess Oprah The Omnipotent, May Her Name Be Praised And Her Throne Be Polished, then you don't fit these days.
Next to go? Ricki Lake.

We must deceive to belong..."
^ I agree with everything you put.
"...foolin' myself feels so sweet, reality looks black and white." - Everything Is Beautiful
The thing gets me is that it took nearly 2 seasons for The Powers that be to realize his show SUCKED-rocks and that the ratings were not going to improve...I made the effort by watching 2 episodes and BOTH sucked big-time...
The Producers thought because Andy's a Silver Fox and Respected in the world of Journalism that Daytime Talk Show Lovers would embrace him. It doesn't work like that. Barbara Walters is the Queen of Journalism but NOBODY wants to see her on The View without those 4 other women...She's simply not down-to-earth and she STRUGGLES telling the simplest of jokes.... She can't carry a Talk Show by herself....
Anderson is a great Journalist and anchoring/reporting the News is where his heart is at....He's just not Talk Show material...People wanted him to do the Co-hosting gig with Kelly Ripa but I figured the shows Producers wouldn't go for that because he doesn't have that down-to-earth-persona...
One thing I learned about Anderson since the Talk show and his coming out is that he's very, very, very strange...He has this Girly-Giggle thing going on that he claims is hard to control and with ALL his Millions he bought a REAL Firehouse to live in and kept most of the the interior portion of the Firehouse the same. He invited Big Mouth Wendy Williams over for a Party and she said his home is odd and interesting @ best....
Katie Couric doesnt know it but she's NEXT....Steve Harvey has good enough ratings from the jump to make it to season 2 next year but he JAMS 50 Topics into one show and he needs to figure out if he wants to be Dr. Phil-like or Montel Williams-like....It's hard to pull off both but his Loyal following in radio will sustain him on TV for as long as they can....
I am working on what form my JUB reincarnation will take...
Anderson was fine when he cohosted with Kelly (cannot stand the new guy she has at all) but he is not good solo.
His audiences were so senile.
Do you think that it's tougher to launch and keep a talk show on one of the major networks? When I channel surf and see stuff like the Bill Cunningham show, I wonder?
Or is it more personality driven? For example, I like watching the Bonnie Hunt show. It lasted two years; I believe it got some awards too? But ratings didn't support renewal?
How about Nate Berkus? There's a talented, attractive host, but I just couldn't watch more than a few episodes before I said no more.
For me, it was more about being bored by the content, rather than him. I think his "schtick" worked better as a periodic episode on the Oprah show. Ratings again...
I love love love the Ellen show. She just makes me happy. She makes me laugh out loud. She can make me tear up too. I think alot of her appeal to me is she strikes me as very real.
I can't watch the new Katie show regularly, as some topics are of little interest to me. I felt that way about the Oprah show, and struggle to watch some Dr. Phil shows. But, their ratings were/are very high?
Then you look at some of the "stuff" that's on other networks--Bill Cunningham show, Wendy Williams show, Steve Wilkos, etc. Don't get that at all.
Thoughts?
It was fun to see him make gay comments
I liked the show.
the boyfriend cheated on anderson (for anyone who didnt know)
the guy with no collarbone. Freaky'
Ellen has the hunks. What do the lesbians think . She failed them

Maybe I'm biased b/c I don't really like him but he seems way too stiff, uncomfortable and awkward to have a talk show like that. Maybe if he was a cohost alongside a bubbly personality to balance it off.
Honestly, none of the current U.S. talk shows are worth watching.
Nobody can do it like Oprah, tbh. I will just have to deal. ~

When Kelly Ripa revealed her new Co-host i had to DVR that episode...I Like how Michael came out and picked her up like she was a doll-baby then they Kissed each other right on the Lips....At first I thought they were the Odd-couple but then i watched them together and Kelly chose him because she's comfortable with him. She can still be herself and she doesnt have to compete with Michael's down-to-earth personality....
She needed a Fresh-face to sit next to her not an International Super-star Singer or world reknown Anchor...Michael was the right Call....He Looks GOOD in a pair of short-shorts to...he's a Tall & Built Hottie...
Another Talk Show bites the Dust...Love'ya Ricki but your time in Daytime has passed...Your Loyal Teen & Young Adult base from the 90's grew up and a lot of us arent watching Daytime Talk shows anymore...

Ricki Lake confirms cancellation of daytime talk show

Ricki Lake is bidding farewell to daytime television again. Confirming the news Monday, Lake and Twentieth Television say "The Ricki Lake Show" will cease production on March 28.
"I am so proud of the shows we completed this season, sparking important conversations about everything from raising children to mental illness to suicide prevention to coming out," Lake confirmed via B&C Monday. "I will continue to be an active and passionate voice for subjects that are close to my heart through a variety of platforms."
"The Ricki Lake Show" was one of several new daytime talk shows that premiered in the Fall. The all-new show featured Lake interviewing a number of guests, including celebrity talent like Tamar Braxton ("Braxton Family Values").
Lake's cancellation follows that of "Anderson Live," Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show, which aired for two seasons and will come to a close this Spring also.
While "The Ricki Lake Show" premiered with much fanfare, considering her success in the 1990s, the daytime talk show's ratings dropped by at least 30 percent.
"The Ricki Lake Show" will continue to air, with new episodes and repeats, through September.
damn. I didn't even know it had started.![]()
