KYLIE Minogue has called a halt to her music career just days after the end of celebrations of her 25th year as a singer, the Sunday Mirror can exclusively reveal..

The star has shocked her friends by splitting from her long-term manager Terry Blamey, who helped launch her into showbusiness when she was 19. It is claimed the Aussie was upset over tensions between Terry and her dad.

Kylie, now 44, has decided to concentrate on acting for the foreseeable future and take a break from music.

A source close to the star said yesterday: “Kylie’s decision to stop recording for the time being and part company with Terry has come as a massive shock.

Britain's Sunday Mirror had earlier reported that the 44-year-old singer had "called a halt to her music career" and would devote herself to acting, under the bombshell headline "Kylie Minogue quits singing."
The paper also claimed that she had split from her long-time manager Terry Blamey.
The news of Minogue's retirement from music sent shockwaves across Twitter, with some people questioning the wisdom of such a decision, the Age reported.
The pop diva's official Twitter account, @kylieminogue, denied the claim, with a post reading: "#lovers #notquitting," followed by tiny icons of a love heart, followed by a microphone, a movie camera and a bright red lipstick print, which translated to: "I love music, I love film, I love youse all."
Unfortunately, none of this stopped several media outlets from pushing the "Kylie quits" on TV and online, powered somewhat ironically by constant retweets of the rumor.
Her Australian publicist put the claim to rest, expanding on the #notquitting tweet. She told Fairfax, "Kylie was never quitting music and she tweeted that overnight."
Blamey's original media statement said, "Kylie has decided to pull back slightly from the pressures of her career and devote more time to herself and her acting career. This is not to say she will be retiring from music, just taking a bit of a break." (ANI)

Kylie Minogue to star in dark comedy-drama on Sky Arts

Kylie Minogue has taken her first TV acting job in over five years.

Minogue will star in a dark comedy-drama called Hey Diddly Dee airing as part of Sky Arts' Playhouse Presents... series. Minogue's co-stars in the one-off film include Peter Serafinowicz, Homeland's David Harewood and Mathew Horne from Gavin & Stacey.

Hey Diddly Dee was written and directed by former Hustle star Marc Warren, who does not appear in the film. Minogue said in a statement: "When the script was sent to me, I read it and knew instinctively I wanted to be part of this project. In Hey Diddly Dee, Marc has created a beautiful and quirky story. I have also enjoyed many of the Playhouse Presents… series and love that they have created a platform for this type of work."

Earlier this month it was reported that Minogue is planning to quit music to pursue an acting career. Minogue took to Twitter to dismiss this rumour, posting: "#lovers #notquitting".

THE boyfriend of Kylie Minogue has given a candid interview about how their relationship began as a "fling" and how he has no problem refusing his female admirers.

Sexy Spaniard Andres Velencoso, 34, has been dating the pop diva, 44, since meeting on a shoot for her men's fragrance, Inverse, in 2008.

"It started off as a fling with Kylie but it turned into love," he told Spanish Vanity Fair.
"I've found a woman who loves me, and I love her."

On the women who throw themselves at him, the model said: "I'm going to Miami next week and they will be waiting for me at the airport, in bikinis. (But) if you know what you want and who you are, then nothing will distract you."

Kylie joins record lable Roc Nation

Kylie Minogue has joined Jay Z's Roc Nation family, the label and entertainment company announced Wednesday. The Aussie singer's U.S. publicist confirms to Billboard that the partnership is for management services, while she is still signed to Parlophone as a recording artist.

"We would like to welcome Aussie singer, recording artist, songwriter, actress and designer Kylie Minogue to the Roc Nation family!" the statement reads. "In a career now spanning 25 years, Kylie has released 11 studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVDs, a greatest hits double album, and multiple video packages. She has released over 50 hit singles worldwide, including the Grammy-winning Come Into My World, and has sold more than 68 million albums worldwide. Needless to say, were excited to have Kylie join the Roc fam."

Minogue has already been added to the "Management" section of Roc Nation's site. She joins artists ranging from Rihanna, Solange, M.I.A, Shakira and Timbaland, another recent addition, on their roster.

Meanwhile, an industry source tells Billboard Minogue will release a new single "soon." She's been at work on a new studio album since at least the spring of 2012, as previously reported.

The forthcoming studio album will follow 2010's "Aphrodite," which debuted and peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 1 in the U.K. It generated four No. 1 singles on Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart: "All the Lovers," "Get Outta My Way," "Better Than Today" and "Put Your Hands Up (If You Feel Love)."

She supported the "Aphrodite" album by touring the world with the Aphrodite Les Folies/Aphrodite Live tour in 2011. The 77-show trek visited more than 20 countries. Of the tour's 41 concerts reported to Billboard Boxscore, Minogue grossed $32.5 million and finished 2011 with the No. 21 highest-grossing tour of the year.

The pop star's first single, "The Locomotion," was released in her native homeland of Australia in 1987. In her over quarter-century career, she has issued 11 studio albums and more than 50 singles.

She had been managed by Terry Blamey since her debut, and amicably parted ways with Blamey in January.

I did see the film a while back, but haven't been able to type this message out until now.

Kylie is in it for all of two minutes and has maybe 15 seconds of face time. The movie itself was very bizarre and not well written. To sum it up:
