Went to Church, then to BJ's (wholesale club) to get some stuff - spent a lot more than I'd planned - there's a surprise, but the freezer has chicken, pork chops, and steelhead trout in it, now, as well as getting some milk and other stuff.

No Jay, my yard is nothing but rocks. A few people plant a special kind of grass in their yards but they have to constantly water it and it just looks like garbage when it's 118 degrees out. And rain is a huge deal here, it is the top story on the news and in newspapers haha.

I always wondered but never had a friend from the desert... what is your favorite feature in the desert?

Cold mornings? Baking afternoons? The rugged landscape? The hot guy broke down in a overheated jeep that needs a lift to town?

I really like the one about the hot guy that needs a lift into town, but I haven't had that experience yet

I guess my favorite thing about the desert is a combination of the warm dry weather and the landscape.

Yeah I think i could do dry in a part of the world where it doesnt mean crazy fucks wanna shoot you for being a whitey....

I havent had the pleasure of US deserts yet...

I will have to take that on once I retire and start roaming around the US like a gypsy...

When I was in Vegas, they had a product called VirtuaLawn. It was very hard to tell it was fake until you got really close. There's probably tons of similar stuff out there, but it's way better than astroturf.

I will take ya up on that offer... sadly it will be another six years.... but I will retire at 46....

Toph... that sounds kinda cool... what made it so real?

Yeah a few people have that down here, but if I remember correctly it is kind of expensive. Personally, I live in the desert because I like the desert scenery. Grass just doesn't look natural here in my opinion.

I never saw pricing, but I would imagine it was quite expensive. But no maintenance. It had variations in color and size and shape to make it more natural looking. It's an option if you want something other than rocks or cacti, but it can look out of place in a neighborhood.

I think i would lean in your direction there Brayden... you can go other places for grass. I still think it is interesting the lengths people go to in the desert to have a mayberry front yard...

My Uncle sent it to me.

Tomorrow's his birthday.
He's alive, in good health, and well on the road to recovery.

A couple broken bones are knitting, skin grafts I think are soon to be done - much to his short term displeasure I'm sure, but "sharkskin" only works so long . . .

the Action Fleet version of the Narcissus (escape pod from 1rst movie) is going for around $100 (boxed)...I remember when they were less than $5..shoulda bought one years ago

My mom tossed our Silver Artificial Christmas Tree, a la early '60s.
A year or two later, they were $900 on e-bay.

My wife did the same thing with our original Nintendo - Nostalgia's a great thing - too bad we didn't capitalize on it.

just found out that a model kit of the Nostromo( Alien) was made in the early 90's...pretty rare

one of the kits just sold on Ebay for around $325


I guess the new movie coming out is causing all of the stuff to move

they were the ones from the early to late 70's
