Real Men Have Body Hair is like the male equivalent of Real Women Have Curves. Both are problematic and alienate all the real men and women who don't fit in to these ideals.

But freaking out over body hair is pretty immature, ngl.

    Yes, let's.

One would think that in a gay community there would be less ignorance and judgment being thrown around about something that one cannot change. It is what we are born with. It's one thing to have a preference, it's totally another to demean someone over a genetic characteristic. It's just absurd.

I think the whole idea of 'twinks think they are better than bears' and 'who is more manly and who is not and who is this and who is that' is rather tiresome. It's annoying to see that gay men and lesbian women attempt to oppress each other and bring each other down based on "heteronormative standards of beauty."

We're all different. But by insinuating that the differences we have make us better or worse in some way, we're using the same victimization tactics used on us on each other.

Btw, I'm not @ having preferences. But I'm @ the reaction Huntneo said he received just because he had body hair. Like, he doesn't even have that much anyway. Seems really OTT. I would sort of be more understanding if someone had a strong reaction to lot of ungroomed body hair but most people don't grow extreme amounts of body hair. (lmao, I don't even know where I saw a shirtless pic of you, I could just be imagining this but I think I saw it on Hot Topics as I don't visit the show yourself forum at all)

True, these standards of beauty can be oppressive. I mean there is nothing wrong with preferring hairy men or curvy women but saying things like "real___ have ___" is when it becomes an issue.

This what puzzled me. We face discrimination from outside from the community and within community itself. It just really tiring with people judging you and berated you. Can't we just accept who whatever they are and get along?

I have never heard of the stereotype that twinks think they're better than everyone else until I heard of it here. I've never experienced or observed it though.

I speak from experience as a cub who's delved into the hook-up/dating world.

It's not a universal truth, but it's definitely still all too common.

Re: just venting, airing out, talking shit, personal beefs, problems, anger management, and etc thread

Over the past few days, a single mosquito has been living inside my room. It would lay dormant during the day presumably, then feast upon me the minute I turned the lights off and got into bed. What makes it worse is that it's Summer right now, and the temperature has been pretty consistently over 30°C for the past week or so. Because of that, I've been sleeping in just my briefs without any covers on.

Over the course of three nights, I've been bitten three times on my right arm, twice on my left leg, twice on my left oblique, three times on my left arm, and once on my left hand. All of them occurring within five minutes of getting into bed each night. I always turned the light on and looked around my room for the mosquito after it bit me, but after a few minutes gave up on my search. Last night after she struck, I snapped and just started spraying bug spray randomly around my room in a fit of rage; behind the furniture, behind the curtains, under my bed etc.

After a random spray under my desk, the stupid motherfucker revealed herself and I smashed her so hard I thought it would put a hole in the wall. So much rage.

    Fuck mosquitoes.

I think it has more to do with my entire body itching like crazy when I'm trying to sleep or study. The worst is hearing the buzz when you're in bed trying to sleep though, because you just know that if you don't get up and kill it, you're going to wake up with at least two bites somewhere on your body. Most pointless and infuriating insect ever.

Speaking of others though, during the past week as the temperature has risen, huntsman spiders have been seeking refuge in my house. They're harmless, but they always sit in places that scare the shit out of you when you see them. A few days ago, one was waiting on the wall in the hallway just outside of my bedroom door. It was right in front of me when I stepped out in the morning. Coffee was not required that day. More recently though, one was waiting for me on the inside of the pantry, one of their favourite places it seems. A gigantic hairy spider is not something you want to encounter when you get up for a midnight snack.

In fairness Kien (Max's statement notwithstanding) the topic came up in reference to guys going "ew icky" about body hair... not about twinks or smooth guys being gross. And I would agree that that reaction is not at all uncommon (ew body hair.)

I say we combine it with the Canadian winter and take the average. Though mosquitoes are no better here. Still, no deadly spiders, snakes, or cockroaches.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

But if the mouse traps were to actually catch a mouse, it would only attract more huntsmans to feed upon the corpse.

Crap...those pics are frightening. I would not want to see them in my house. Me and my lover feed the daddy long legs in the corner semi live flies so they won't leave ...they kill all the other spiders...they are deadly to black widows.

We have coyotes and mountain lions and wild boar where I live.

I've been in communication with the huntsmen. They would rather not be distracted by the little prey, and are staying focused on the big carcass.

Moose are only dangerous if you hit them with your car. Or if you get out of your car to take a photo of a magical wilderness encounter and they charge you.

The cougars will come in to the city rarely. Once a decade or so. That could be a fatality if they come at you the wrong way. But four hour's driving through farmers fields between us and the mountains kind of cuts down on the wildlife quotient.

Redbacks and whitetails I see pretty much all year round, but mostly out in the shed, on the outside of window frames, or in shoes left unattended outside. Snakes are incredibly rare in my area, and in most suburban or city areas I would imagine. Huntsmans are frequent visitors during Summer, but are pretty rare to see in any other months. I've never seen a croc outside of a zoo.

I'm genuinely surprised you've never seen a huntsman before though. I think I need to move to wherever you're staying.

And bankside, I will readily admit that Australia is pretty deadly when it comes to wildlife, but if you avoid bodies of water, there's really nothing on the land that can compare to how terrifying bears are.

    Example:

Just my luck. Although there is a nest of some sort of water spiders living under my bed in Gold Coast. What about the spider that can create a water bubble to live in the water? it is poisonous as well.

    Anders by boy,

If they don't hurt people or their stuff, but get rid of pesty things,
they are your friends. Respect them. I have 2 spiders sharing my
office space They Live on my overhead light/paddle fan and visit
various parts of the room including my plants. Good neighbors. Quiet.

True. If I were about to be attacked by a shark, I'd think "Shit. I did it to myself. I put myself in their habitat. Mind you, if I can just make it to shore…home free!!!"

But a bear is happy to swim after you. That was a little brown bear. My family have run across those camping and were able to make a good retreat. As you can see, you can reason with one of those species if you have a stick and a nasty shout. But a grizzly would not be so easily persuaded. And a polar bear would just eat you. Then the stick. Then spit you out. Then eat the little bits of you he spit out. Kind of a furry, land-borne shark. Cute as cubs though! I've never seen them outside the zoo but could have easily enough in northern Manitoba when I was younger.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

I'm sure you wouldn't be saying this if you went into the kitchen at night and felt something fuzzy dart away from underneath your hand when you tried to turn the light on. I can deal with having a prankster for a friend, especially one who enjoys killing other bugs and spiders, but waiting on my light switch in pitch black darkness is just taking it too far.

The huntsmans have got to go.

    Three severed limbs later...

But a bear is happy to swim after you.
And to run after you. And to climb after you. All of which it can do faster than you can. There are effective anti-venoms for any of the snakes and spiders I'll encounter in my life, but there is no anti-venom for a bear mauling.

This is the appropriate mindset. Two fins up.

No, but they're capable of living in land. But I am really sure. There are so many species.

I hate mosquitoes I was bitten so often. Last year I go a bad fever due to it and was sent to the hospital.
Fleas are a bitch to deal with. I am still fighting them now God I hope my cousins send me those foggers soon. I just came back from holiday and I found some half dead fleas half leaping in my table

I've never seen a croc outside of a zoo.

I'm genuinely surprised you've never seen a huntsman before though. I think I need to move to wherever you're staying.

    Example:

The camera stopped. How did it turn out? Was he eaten? The worst things I have run into at work so far are Mountain Lions and Coyotes. Nothing like the video's encounter though.

We're all different. But by insinuating that the differences we have make us better or worse in some way, we're using the same victimization tactics used on us on each other.
Do lesbians really do this? This has always stood out to me as a form of immaturity far more present on our side than among our lesbian counterparts.

awww...you're sweet. Yes, I am pretty hairy. It's not always super noticeable by my pics, but if someone has an aversion to hair--they're not going to like me. lol I agree with you on the strong reactions deal. Some people are just extra as hell and can't help it.

    Come to Reno.

Bugs of any kind are very rare. I've never gotten bitten by a mosquito, and fleas can't live comfortably at the high altitude. Even roaches have a hard time.

    You do see ants.

This is one thing I certainly cherish about living in the high desert.

had a weird dream last night. right around the route 280, garden state parkway overpass in east orange too, it got all flooded like it was a river or something. there were a bunch of people and their cars all floating, swimming around wondering what to do. the water was all dirty. i swam from the route 280 garden state parkway connector ramp all the way past the toll to the garden state parkway. i was the only person swimming around there too while everybody was figuring out what to do. it was almost like that maxwell "woman's work" video where he was swimming in the street except there was actually water and i was swimming for real. i saw my brother's car on the garden state parkway all flooded and i saw him about to swim over there to his car. i told him not to go over there because it was too deep and he didn't even brother. the funny part about the whole thing is that i can't swim in real life so me swimming in a dream is like .
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry
