How little republicans value life, and Americans?

So you have the most under achieving congress in history during one of most historical times of need.

You have a Presidential candidate who is trying to gain political points off the blood of an Ambassador before his body was cold.

A vice president candidate who prefers Americans die instead of Afgahni's for their country.

The republican party knowing eventually they would extend the debt ceiling held america hostage causing further decline and market instability.

The republican congress who failed to pass a farm bill until it was too late.

A republican congress that holds the middle class tax cut that both sides agree upon hostage to a tax cut for millionaires.

A republican party that has had member after member utter racist comments. To their credit that person loses the race BUT the fact that they feel comfortable saying those things.

A republican party that tried to deny the basic rights of Americans to vote just to win the office because they are positive nobody is buying what they are selling except the low information racist. A process that has been overturned just about every time it has faced a court challenge.

It is disgusting this red party in America. I think you have to be a unpatriotic america hater or a complete and utter moron to support this party.

So what say all of you? What turns your stomach about the republican party? I left off their hate based groups that they refer to as faith because tbqh it has never been about that for me.

I cannot disagree with that sentiment. I think it should be structured so they can not earn a retirement unless they provide 20 years government service and then the amount will be based on highest three years just the the military. Except i would include term limits for both senate and congress. Two terms in Senate and four terms in congress. That could still allow for career politicians but disallow the fiefdoms created by seniority.

Well, it's the GOP and its supporters that don't value life but eagerly call themselves Christians. They're nowhere to be found when Iraqis, Libyans, Syrians (now) die. They're totally fine with political points being scored over our ambassador's death. I can somewhat see Romney jumping on it; he was falling behind in the polls and needed to grab onto something to stay afloat. The thing is: the GOP doesn't have a bullshit filter and has that "Reality Bubble" that Bill Maher talks about, where facts don't matter and don't exist.

They're soulless, heartless people with no compunction. Bush has been asked numerous times about the Iraq choice and do you know how this dolt answers critics? "History will judge me kindly." Great. We'll all be dead before we can judge his mistake.

The GOP's cruel, inhumane outlook was why Romney pivoted from being a robot with no emotions to all of a sudden giving a damn about ordinary Americans during the debate.

All I can say is that time heals all. Out with the old, in with the new. This hardcore, insensitive platform just doesn't have an audience for people, say, this side of 70.

The thing I can't get over is their approach to the budget. It's such an obvious dog and pony show. Their overall answer is to cut programs that are really only a drop in the bucket with respect to the entire budget/deficit.

It's like being tasked with demolishing a building on a city block and then going out and taking a sledgehammer to the parking meter out in front until it's destroyed.

That and the major initiatives are exactly what Bush did and the results are in -- Bush's policies sucked even if we NEVER have a recession of epic proportions.

I just can't fathom folks I see as somewhat intelligent not grasping those facts clearly. There are a thousand things I would do differently than Obama BUT I would go back to Bush policies saying we need a new direction. That is just the epitome of ignorance to me.

What is it about Americans working together to build a better society that is so "personally destructive?" Is this the same Republican logic as banning gay marriage because it makes straight marriage so much less valuable? If people cooperate to build a better America, does that mean I am worthless as an individual?

What lobbyists is Obama in bed with? Obama is the only president in history to ban lobbyists from federal advisory committees. He is the only president in history to ban his staff from working as lobbyists for years after their service in his administration. He has returned campaign contributions when they were discovered to have come from lobbyists.

This president has been the most aggressively anti-lobbyist of any president in history. And yet, you somehow see that antagonism for lobbyists as support.

Your obsession with the deaths of four diplomats in Libya fascinates me.

It does not bother you that >4,000 Americans died in Iraq because of GWB's massive failures of intelligence and personal lies. It does not bother you that he still has never given us an explanation for why that war was started, and why it was so necessary for so many people to die.

It does not bother you that 12 Americans died in embassy bombings in 1998 in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya because Clinton's intelligence failed to predict that terrorist attacks were coming, and embassy security was inadequate to stop them when they did.

It does not bother you that 241 Americans died in Lebanon in 1983 because Reagan failed to have adequate security in place to protect an obvious American military target from terrorists.

It does not bother you that the American embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan was burnt to the ground in 1979 by an angry mob because Carter failed to provide enough security to protect it from a riot.

It does not bother you that FDR's security at the American embassy in Rome before WWII was so lax that Italian agents broke in, copied all of our diplomatic codes, and got out so stealthily that the operation was not discovered until after the war. (The massive security failure resulted in Italy listening in on our diplomatic communications around the world for the duration of the war).

It is Mitt Romney who is promising goodies in the form of tax cuts for the wealthy (and now also, apparently, for the middle class) which won't add to the deficit because they will be paid for by closing unspecified "loopholes." Regrettably, these loopholes must remain secret until after the election. However, they are so great that no one affected by them will even notice that they are paying more in taxes. (And if that sounds like a tax increase itself, it's not. Romney will cut taxes but more than compensate for this by having people pay more taxes through the elimination of loopholes. Revenue will actually increase, since people will be paying more. But, everyone will actually be paying fewer taxes overall because of the tax cuts.)

It is Mitt Romney who is promising $2 trillion more in defense spending which will be paid for by closing tax loopholes (which, again, cannot be revealed until after the election).

It is Mitt Romney who is promising a replacement for Obamacare which will provide universal health care without really involving the government and without costing anybody anything. Specifically, Romney will "repeal and replace" Obamacare with something really great that will work a lot better, and be free. There is even a goodie for those who like Obamacare - all the best parts of Obamacare are to be retained. Only the parts that people don't like will be repealed.

It is Mitt Romney who will save Medicare and make it a lot better by replacing it with a voucher system. This will provide more care for less money. This will be possible because free enterprise will drive down medical costs, just as it has in the private sector for the past five decades - and even though Romney will not permit Medicare to negotiate drug prices, as any private, free enterprise company would do. (Romney is a big fan of socialism when it can be used to throw excess government money at big drug companies.)

It is Mitt Romney who is promising Christian fundamentalists the ending of any possibility of homosexuals ever being allowed to marry, in any American state.

It is Mitt Romney who is promising Christian fundamentalists the ending of funding for Planned Parenthood.

It is Mitt Romney who is promising 8 million new jobs. How is this to be accomplished? By cutting taxes, of course, and burning more fossil fuels. (There is no human endeavor that cannot be accomplished through tax cuts).

It is Mitt Romney who is promising lots of free goodies that nobody will ever have to pay for. More jobs, more defense spending, universal health care, and a balanced budget. And what will this utopia cost us? Nothing, of course, your taxes will actually go down!

Obama wants to raise taxes on the wealthy and cut the military. He wants everyone to contribute to help provide healthcare for all of us. He wants us to find technological solutions that will make our vehicles more efficient. He wants us to invent a green energy industry. He is asking us to work together to build a better America. That is far from offering us the free goodies that Romney plans to pull out of his magical hat.
