Looking for advices - USA! Please!

Hey everyone.
So I'm from Sofia, Bulgaria, 20yrs old.
I sign a contract for student brigade in USA from May to October - WAT (Work and Travel) 2013 USA by Intrax. I want and I WILL work as waiter but still wait all waiter offers at USA to arrive and after that I will choose where to work.
I'm thinking about California and all South, Southwest/east states. Can you give me some advices where I should concentrate my efforts? Which states (and maybe cities) are good - for making money, gay life/clubs (because for first - I WANT to make a new friendships, etc ... ) and EVERYTHING which you think I must to know about.

I'd say LA, San Francisco, or San Diego if you're looking at California. But, beware! California is an expensive place to live relative to the rest of the USA. In the Southwest, you might think about Las Vegas, Tucson, Santa Fe, or Albuquerque. Also be aware the public transit west of the Mississippi River pretty much does not exist.

You might consider coastal Massachusetts (the Cape) or Southern coastal Maine (Bar Harbor south).

A lot of people told me about Massachusetts but I think the weather will be like 'spring' maybe 25-28*, I dunno. Usually I want place which is warmer than Bulgaria. With a lot of summer energy, life, people... : ) and the problem is that I must to chose the place where I want to go in the next two weeks.
