I've reluctantly continued to watch...but on DVR so I don't have to sit through all the bull they put into the show...haha

There are actually a few acts this year that I've liked...of course a few of the acts that made it through to the Judge's Houses I was kinda like...."Really?" but hey there are always contestants I don't think deserve to be on on these shows.

I thought the groups really stood out last night over the young adults.

I'm not understanding why so many people have sung "I'm Sexy and I Know It"...like it's a singing competition people...you're trying to show off your vocal skills.

Of the acts that made it to the judges' houses, I'm here for Paige Thomas and that girl group, Lylas.

I kinda like the group with Austin Corrini(spelling?), I think their name is Playback. Austin and Johnny Maxwell are so cute. The group was fun to watch, and I'm glad Simon saw something in them.

I also really like Carly Rose Sonenclare. Young, but amazing talent and I loved her audition. Cece comes off as a class A bitch, but I like her. And Arin Ray is alright too, definitely cute.

I like a lot of other groups and people, but those are the ones I remember.

Haven't watched last night's episode yet but I hope that group with the three brothers go home - the one that always had his shirt off.

And the girl with the print on her face, I hope she goes home. She does come off as unlikeable, and this fake act that she is putting on is just because she got called on it.

Agreed. I really liked their performance. It felt organic and you could tell they were having fun, which was entertaining to watch.

I liked Emblem 3 until Wednesday night's episode. They're kind of unlikable the more they talk, because they're always talking about how generic everyone else sounds when they sound like a Sublime cover band. And that one had the nerve to talk about how cheesy Playback was when he's walking around with his shirt off.

    Cece gotta go.

I like Playback and Diamond White. I'm still so so on the Rihanna clone.

I want Cece and three sisters to go home!

I'm liking LYLAS, Lyric 145, and Carly. I feel like Carly has a shot to win just not sure how successful she would be post show or who would buy her music. LYLAS has a shot to win also and I can see them being successful. I like Lyric 145 just not sure whether the viewers would vote for them, I don't think they appeal to the show's demo.

I liked Paige's first audition, but when put up against other contestants she seems very weak vocally, I'm not impressed by her. Jennel imo should have been put in the group.

This week was lame. X factor was delayed for about an hour. After it came back, the decisions for only the teens and the over 25's came on, then was interrupted by the MLB game. Streamed the show online and saw the results for the young adults and only half of the groups. Gotta wait till tuesday for the rerun of the full episode.

But so far, I'm quite happy with the judges' decisions.

I'll only be watching and choosing my favorites on the first night the show goes live. I briefly watched the whole Boot Camp crap and it seemed so fake.

    For example,

Day 1 - CeCe vs Paige
Day 2 - Oh look who they paired up again for singing together! CeCe and Paige! And look at the pair they saved for the last performance so CeCe has all the time in the world to brain fuck her competition!

The judges home rounds also seem very boring and filler-ish to me.

So I'll wait till the show goes live! I do like the category each judge got though.

X Factor renewed for a 3rd season. I am a bit surprised considering how low the ratings have been and how much they pay the judges/winner.

As to this season. Right now my favorite is Janell Garcia.....followed by Beatrice. Not convinced either can win though.

Still watching the first live show right now. LYLAS(or now 1432) did a nice job. I'm not mind blown by any of the acts so far tbh. I also really like David Correy, really strong vocals. Enjoyed Lyric 145's performance too. I'm still a little bitter that Playback got sent home. They should've taken Sister C's spot.

Just now, L.A. Reid seemed to be an obnoxious, vindictive, immature brat after Simon murdered Jason Brock's performance with his comments. I've gotta agree though that I hate the name '1432,' so I'll continue to call them LYLAS, but it seemed like L.A. was just trying to get back at Simon by taking it out on the group. So unprofessional.

I love Carly, love her voice, but the song choice really sucked. If her voice wasn't so incredible, I think she'd be out. Emblem 3 comes off as cocky dbags and I didn't really like them at the beginning of the season, but theirs was my favorite performance. Definitely going far.

Carly reminds me of that little girl, Charlotte Church. Y'all remember her? She just needs to go and sing opera or something, cause this is a pop star competition, and either you got it, or you do not. And she ain't got it.

The only person I am here for like that is Paige. But I'd be fine with Lylas/1432/whatever the fuck they're gonna be called next coming in second place.

    Re: The X-Factor (USA)

Okay so I finally took some time to watch the first live show and I was so disappointed. It seemed like a really lame talent show, not a singing competition. I hate how over produced every single performance was and really none of the singers impressed me at all. Can't also understand why it seems like everybody's mic is set on the lowest possible setting.

Britney seemed a bit low on adjectives (I can't even count how many times all she said was "amazing") and was trying to quickly rush through her critiques in a matter of 5-10 seconds. Demi did better than I thought and is actually a good judge, but I don't think she can pull in the target audience they expected her to pull in. Don't really care for LA. Simon did a good job but his reliability in critiquing has turned into a liability now, basically everyone expects him to be consistent with his critiques. So there's no surprise there.

I will pick my favorite to win next week when the public decides to vote but really I was so disappointed. The one thing I will say though is that Mario Lopez works really well as a host. They might do well just cutting off Khloe next season because she seems a bit uncertain.

Also, Britney was basically brought into this show for a ratings boost and I don't see it happening. She is making about 10x more what Nicole made last year and also more than what Paula made. If the ratings aren't going anywhere I don't see any reason why the producers would want to keep her. They're basically paying so much more for 1 judge and not getting the expected results.

Overall though this show is a hot mess. For me the best reality singing competitions were Season 4 - 6 of Idol and of X Factor (UK).

I've been missing it, and the old shows don't last on Demand for more than a couple of days after they air

I liked Emblem3 and a few others, but now I'm not really sure. I saw my dad watching an episode. From what I heard, the girl was super flat -.-

    Re: The X-Factor (USA)

Okay, so I had some time on the weekend and just watched the live show, haven't seen the results so I don't know what's going to happen. But here's my quick little review.

The Show: Way better than last week overall and wasn't so much of a hot mess. I still think it is for the most part never going to get as great as the UK version was a few seasons ago. The UK version still is huge in the ratings there but I don't watch it anymore because the judging panel is boring as hell.

Hosts: Someone must've told Khloe that she shouts a lot into her mic and she was a bit better this week but I just feel like Mario Lopez is so much better than her. Khloe might improve over the weeks to come but she just looks very out of place and awkward at times with her comments and questions to the judges.

Judges: In terms of mentoring I think Britney has picked the best musical direction for her acts. However I feel that many of her acts have the same musical style and they could end up splitting votes later on leading to upsets. But Britney is by far making the best choices for her contestants and this just proves a point I made in another topic that while she doesn't have the best voice she has the actual field experience of an artist and she knows exactly what it takes to succeed in this business. I also think she stepped up a key on her adjectives while critiquing, but for some reason her critiques often seem a bit rushed and very Paula-ish in so much as she basically tries to find something nice to say all the time.

Demi is good at critiquing but she needs to learn to wait for her turn to speak because she comes off as annoying at times when she cuts off the other judges (mostly Simon). She also needs to pick better songs for her acts because I feel like they were given lazy song choices.

LA seems to have the most boring category and only two of his acts could do well, Tate or Vino but I feel Vino is better vocally. LA is reminisicnet of Randy in so much as nobody really cares about what he has to say on the judging table.

Simon just seems very desperate to find another One Direction. I don't like Simon on X Factor (US) because I feel that a lot of the stuff he says is utter bullshit just to promote the show. For example I have no idea why he says "the talent we have is immense". Bitch PLEASE. Anyone with ears knows the UK version is doing so much better in terms of talent.

    The performances:
    1. Arin Ray - Britney picked a great song and he did a great job with it. While I do think he can progress in the competition I don't think he will win the competition. Also don't think he's Britney's best.

    2. Paige Thomas - A good voice and a nice performance, but I don't see her doing well outside this competition because she's basically a poor man's Rihanna. But she probably is Demi's best chance at winning the show.

    3. Vino - Performed well, probably LA's best chance to win this show but I don't think he will.

    4. Emblem3 - Everything I hate in a group and it's a poor man's One Direction.

    5. Beatrice - A good voice but I always feel like while she's singing she's trying too hard to remember her stage movement steps in her head. Basically her inexperience shows. Don't think she can win.

    6. Jennel - Hated this performance. Basically a karoke performance. I don't see her winning.

    7. Tate - Good performance but not my cup of tea. Him or Vino are LA's best shot but I think Vino has a better shot. Either way I don't see him winning.

    8. Lyric145 - If you're high as fuck you could enjoy them otherwise it's basically trash.

    9. Diamond White - Not Britney's strongest contender. Dangerous song choice due to comparisons to Whitney and the fact that this song has been performed to death and beyond on these shows.

    10. CeCe Fray - Comes off as a manipulative bitch. No chance of winning and is there basically as a filler.

    11. Carly - Britney's best chance of winning the show and a great voice.

    12. Jason Brock - Britney said it best, Vegas show. I don't see him lasting long.

    13. Fifth Harmony - Actually my favorite of Simon's groups.

My favorite to win is Carly.

I don't think I'll be watching much of this show because it's really boring at times.

That was a nice summary, however I have to disagree on the quoted points.

Emblem 3 is actually something totally different that One Direction in every single way. They're not created, they are a family, they're together for years now, their style and image is completely different than OD's and really, there's nothing even remotely similiar between them and One Direction.

As to Cece - She comes off as a bitch beacuse it's all planned this way. Did you watch the show from the start? It's edited to make her look like a bitch. From day one she was the one to follow. The producers picked her as the ultimate villain of the second 2. And it's a pity, beacuse she's actually a great singer and I honestly have no idea why you think she has no chance of winning, but if you do think that, it has to be beacuse many people don't like her due to what the producers did.

Her rendition of I WIll Always Love You was absolutely stunning and she was CLEARLY the best of them all, including Carly.

Btw, I also think Carly is the favourite to win the whole show.

    My Top 5 are:
    1) LYLAS/Fifth Harmony/Whatever the fuck their name is this week
    2) Arin Ray
    3) Jennel Garcia (was #1 before this week)
    4) Lyric 145
    5) Carly Rose or Beautrice (the little girls are interchangeable for me - big voices, no way to market them to Top 40)

Not crazy about any of the acts this season. No one really blew me away. The country guy sang pretty good last night.

    Re: The X-Factor (USA)

I'd like either Carly or CeCe to win.

It's obvious that Tate gets so many votes because he's the only country act so he alone gets all the votes from country fans.

Britney is the worst judge but I wouldn't say she was only brought on the show for ratings. Perhaps the biggest reason but you also have to realize she has been in the business since she was a toddler and she knows her stuff. Although she is the worst judge she's a really good coach, perhaps the best one on the show.

It's kinda embarrassing to see young Demi next to Britney doing a better job as a judge. But when it comes to coaching she's probably the worst of them all. I honestly think that CeCe could have ended up as the winner with a better coach. Demi completely stripped away her personality by coloring her hair blonde and most of the times she makes her do songs which don't fit her voice well. It's so sad to see this happen to the girl who struck me first as the one with the most star quality.

So yeah Carly better win. Her voice is really good and the most unique one out of all the acts. If Tate ends up in 2nd place he has a better chance of making it, probably getting a Nashville contract.

I'm here for Demi's bops but she really is a horrible mentor. I think she's the reason Jenelle was eliminated so early because she took everything the audience loved about her in the audition eps and changed it. Same with CeCe and Paige. She tried too hard to make them edgy, and the only one who isn't drowning in it is Paige. Which is why she should win, tbh.

Yep, hate that Demi changed everyone. Dyed Cece's hair blond for whatever stupid reason(she looked much better as a brunette), shaved Paige's hair.

The votes were all over the place. Don't agree with most of the rankings, honestly.

This show is so weak compared to Idol. I hate how the judges decide everything. They pick the songs, they pick who goes home, they pick what the contestants look like, they pick stupid dancers to overdo the performances. The judges could pretty much launch their favorite to the finale just like on The Voice. Also only one solo male performer who's under 40 or so made it through to the live shows. I feel sorry for all the young guys who auditioned when they had no shot at making it through anyways. Owen from Playback should've made it to the live shows as a solo act over Beatrice. He was amazing and they put him in a group with weaker singers because they need someone strong to lead the group. Sort of like what they did to Elona and Arin last year with that InTENsity disaster.

As for the contestants, I'm rooting for Cece and Arin Ray. It sucks that both of them will probably leave soon and I will stop following the show after that. Cece was amazing before the live shows. Especially her "Sexy and I Know It" performance. Demi changed her looks and destroyed her confidence. The blonde hair doesn't fit and I actually really liked the leopard prints on her face. It made her look unique and it was an interesting look. Arin Ray's audition was amazing but he hasn't done anything that great since. If he could write songs like the one he wrote in the audition though, he could be the next Usher/Chris Brown. Ok maybe that's exaggerating but he could be the next Mario. I really liked Emblem3's audition song and performance but they've also haven't blown me away since their audition and they seem like huge douchebags other than the youngest one so it's too hard to root for them. I have a feeling their original stuff is probably good though.

This show is a hot mess. I feel like it has no sense of direction. The only ones that has potential is Sonenclaire and Tate. The rest are just overconfident jackasses. And I agree with Awesomeness...actually it's Simon who's controlling everything, the other 3 are just there for show.

Agreed on others saying how it's pretty much been a slop bucket (I didn't even watch the first season of US's version - doesn't interest me; only here for Britney). It's gotten more watchable/engaging during some Live portions of the show, but I personally can't wait to see Emblem3 and CeCe (StoneCold Face) go home... not here for their utter egomania and "wtf" moments when they get criticism. Tate or Carly Rose have it in the bag, and I won't be surprised to see them in the Top 4.

I was so happy to see Carly in 1st place last week.

Like I've said before Tate has always gotten the 1st spot for being the only country act.

But as the non-country acts get fewer, the votes they got are more likely to move to Carly than Tate.

My prediction is that Carly will win and Tate will get 2nd place.

Her voice is so amazing and unique so I'm really excited about her releasing an album.

I think Diamond White will get better as the competition goes on, and will give Britney 2 of the Final 4 acts, along with Tate and probably Emblem 3.
