I early Voted today and had no issues @ the Elections Office..Any Early Voters across the nation?

Here in South Carolina a Registered voter only has to present one of the following; his Voter Registration Card, Drivers License or DMV State ID...Gov. Nikki Haley is still fighting to change that...We have NO voter fraud here in the State.

Like Always I voted Straight Democratic Ticket with the exception to the bipartisan seats and I wrote my name in ALL the open seats where the opponent was a Republican. I even wrote my name in against Joe "You Lie' Wilson..I decided to trust the Bipartisan cadidates that ran for offices so the ONLY way i could pick a candidate was to say "eenie-meenie-miney- mo".

There was about 4 Democrats running for all State wide offices INCLUDING Obama/Biden national ticket...The Republicans went unopposed in just about every office on the ballot...

The Amendment ballot was some crap about The LT Governor running on the same Party Ticket with the Candidates for Governor. If you vote Yes then the LT Gov. wouldn't have ANy control over the Senate if you vote No then the LT Gov would keep his current Powers...Of course I voted Yes...

Anybody plan on voting early in person?

No early voting in NYC. I'll vote on election day. I'm not sure there will be any Republicans on my ballot (at least none I recognize). I once voted for a dead guy. My congressman died right before the election, and the Republican on the ballot was a crazy nobody. The dead congressman won in a landslide.

I do not have a tight schedule at all, and I can go when it least inconveniences other people, such as during the middle of the day on election day.

Also, all Marylanders can vote by mail. I think they are less trustworthy than the booth though.

Hi - congrats on voting. I'd feel weird voting so early as even if I know I'm not going to change my mind, I like knowing I could. But that's just in my head. It makes sense to vote early. It would be just my like that the right guy would lose by one vote after I get hit by a truck waiting for my special election day.

Actually it makes me wonder how many deceased people do end up voting in an election because they cast early ballots then die.

Outwardly there doesn't seem to be much interest in the presidential election in the way of signs or bumper stickers.

I'm disappointed that the presidential candidates have only chosen to campaign in about 7 states --- if we did eliminate the Electoral College the current campaign would give us an idea what that kind of election would look like -- only several states matter.

From time to time I travel to different branches to train people or travel out of state for other work related training/issues. A lot of people might be in the same boat and cant Fly back into town on Nov 6th.

Some people have planned trips and other important engagements and can't return on Nov 6th....

We live in a Country that MOVES 24/7...Thank goodness the early voting policy is there for those of us that need to take advantage of it....

I live in Ga and early voting start on 10/15 I think. I will go in the Tues morning and vote. I have always voted early every since I can remember. I detest standing in long lines, maybe except black fridays, lol, but again, it better be a good sale. Yes I trust mailing my ballot. They allow over two weeks after the election for it to be delivered, as long as it was postmarked before election day.

Although I just noticed today the postage required is 65 cents; I don't remember it costing more than regular letter postage. This could actually prevent some people's ballots from being received in time, if they don't read the instructions carefully. The return envelope does not specify 65 cent postage on it, so this can easily be missed. That concerns me a bit.

I'm in Michigan. The state doesn't have Early Voting. I think the standards should be uniform across the nation. For example, I believe Wyoming has Early Voting. And what's dumb, comparing the two states, is that Wyoming is the lowest in population (even lower than non-state District of Columbia). Michigan, meanwhile, ranks as the No. 8 most-populous state in the country. Tell me how that makes sense for consistency!

The poll while being small shows Obama with such a large lead that it far exceeds the margin of error.

The right wing are attacking early voting sharply because they are afraid that people will be able to vote.... early voters are doing it because they don't want to be disenfranchised by the republican party and associated groups. Romney is already trying to downplay this.

I still don't understand the purpose of early voting. I understand that some people will be out of town on that day for business, vacation, etc. therefore they can vote absentee. In fact, I'll vote absentee myself on the 27th -- because I'll be an election judge on Election Day and am not allowed to vote that day.

It's just one day. Can't everyone make arrangements to vote one day?

The only reason I can come up with why early voting is being promoted so much is that "someone" can massage the vote -- be it a republican or democrat election board.

Some can't make arrangements to vote on that day. Many work many hours. The voting day in this country is often inconvenient for many. Election day would be better on the weekend like in other developed countries (but I'm sure republicans would bitterly oppose that). Obama carried a lot of early votes in the 2008 election and he's doing it again now. So that's a reason why Romney supporters hate it.

Elections should be on weekends so turn-out can be increased... but again that would be a serious disadvantage for republicans who hope for the lowest turn-out possible.
