I early Voted today and had no issues @ the Elections Office..Any Early Voters across the nation?

Here in South Carolina a Registered voter only has to present one of the following; his Voter Registration Card, Drivers License or DMV State ID...Gov. Nikki Haley is still fighting to change that...We have NO voter fraud here in the State.

Like Always I voted Straight Democratic Ticket with the exception to the bipartisan seats and I wrote my name in ALL the open seats where the opponent was a Republican. I even wrote my name in against Joe "You Lie' Wilson..I decided to trust the Bipartisan cadidates that ran for offices so the ONLY way i could pick a candidate was to say "eenie-meenie-miney- mo".

There was about 4 Democrats running for all State wide offices INCLUDING Obama/Biden national ticket...The Republicans went unopposed in just about every office on the ballot...

The Amendment ballot was some crap about The LT Governor running on the same Party Ticket with the Candidates for Governor. If you vote Yes then the LT Gov. wouldn't have ANy control over the Senate if you vote No then the LT Gov would keep his current Powers...Of course I voted Yes...

Anybody plan on voting early in person?

Kudos for exercising the most important citizenship right!

I will be voting on election day. In Maryland, voters may be asked for their registration card voting the first time. I was not in 2006. Heavily Democratic, the Dream Act, Obama, and Senator Cardin need not worry, but we need every Marylander and his uncle to vote Yes on 6 for marriage equality!!!

I plan to vote on election day. And I don't plan on voting for the Democrats all the way. I'm actually voting against a gay Democratic state legislator who does creepy stuff like getting funding for a gay GOP sheriff for border security when his county is about 300 miles from the border. And they have sleepovers too which gives new meaning to the phrase "sleeping with the enemy."

And LMAO at South Carolina, Mr Majestic; your poor ass state voting like millionaires. Every time I hear about the South voting Republican, one song comes to mind:

The answer is jack shit. That's what the GOP has done for the South.

I mailed my request to get a mail ballot last week. So I am anticipating it arriving soon. But I will not be filling it out until just a few days before the election. The main reason I vote by mail is because I hate the extremely long lines in my district.

I actually did something interesting today and emailed Lizzie Warren about my concern in my hometown and the county that she is losing in this area.

Funnily enough, despite all my moving around the area, I never bothered to change my primary resident status. The paper work is downright atrocious to do which is the main reason. Still the smartest thing I've done is lease out a storage unit.

I will vote on Election Day.

What if something happens between now and Election Day and you can't change your vote?

You must live in Arizona's 29th state legislative district. I know whom your representative is, and boy is he a big ole whore. I swear some of these gay dudes that get into politics need to learn a little thing about taste and dignity. How are you going to have threesomes of somebody as twisted as that sheriff....?

Why should gay politicians be any different than straight ones (or gay ones who pretend to be straight)? There will always be politicians, gay or straight, or get up to some crazy shenanigans.

No early voting in NYC. I'll vote on election day. I'm not sure there will be any Republicans on my ballot (at least none I recognize). I once voted for a dead guy. My congressman died right before the election, and the Republican on the ballot was a crazy nobody. The dead congressman won in a landslide.

That was LBJ in a Texas state election.
I'm gonna vote on election day. I can see my polling place from my front porch!

I honestly don't get the early voting thing - save for people overseas, incapacitated, extenuating circumstances, etc.

I always thought election DAY was just that

And don't get the idea that 40 days BEFORE that day is a proper time to cast a ballot - seems somehow wrong

how funny is it that in this day and age

we have voting booths where you slide a curtain closed and do your business manually

"vote early and often" - LOL

What is your reason for not voting early if the polls are already open in your County? Why wait 4 more weeks when you can get it over with today?

Them's Fighting words in the Dirty South but its the TRUTH....LOL...We have Old Money here as well but Poor White Rural Republicans view the Republican Party as the Party for White Americans to STAND united..Remember South Carolina voted for Newt during the Primary. Gov. Nikki Haley's endorsement didnt do a thing for Romney because she's also low in the polls state wide. Christian Country Bumpkins are AFRAID of Mitt's Mormonism. It's viewed as a Cult. THE ONLY reason the Bumpkins will rush to the polls for Romney is because they HATE Obama. Christian Bumpkins would rather elect someone they view as a Devil worshiper into office before they see the same Black Family living in the White House another 4yrs....

Your County doesn't allow Early voting or absentee voting in person? You really trust mailing your ballot in days before the election?

Jack you know good and well you've already made up your mind about voting AGAINST Obama. There isn't anything left for Mitt to say or do to change the fact that he's a terrible Campaigner and very Unpresidential. He has shown us his true colors since the 90's and these 3 debates simply show us how consistent he is @ flip-flopping and smiling while doing it...

Who is your vote leaning towards at this time? Romney or the-so-called Libertarian Gary Johnson?

I'm glad you did, but early voting here starts Oct 27.

I do not have a tight schedule at all, and I can go when it least inconveniences other people, such as during the middle of the day on election day.

Also, all Marylanders can vote by mail. I think they are less trustworthy than the booth though.

Hi - congrats on voting. I'd feel weird voting so early as even if I know I'm not going to change my mind, I like knowing I could. But that's just in my head. It makes sense to vote early. It would be just my like that the right guy would lose by one vote after I get hit by a truck waiting for my special election day.

Actually it makes me wonder how many deceased people do end up voting in an election because they cast early ballots then die.

But that is not my point. I wanted to ask about half the stuff you're voting for because I don't understand it. I take it you have state elections at the same time as the federal one? Also, what is a straight ticket and a bipartisan seat? And why are you writing your name on the ballot?
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte.

There are other people running -- state and local candidates.

I'm sure I'll vote for Romney. I can't see the USA continuing in this awful state of economic stagnation. I'm not sure Romney has the answers but I know that Obama does not even understand the problems, much less have any ideas on how to solve them.

I'm not sure how anyone could be undecided at this point.

Outwardly there doesn't seem to be much interest in the presidential election in the way of signs or bumper stickers.

I'm disappointed that the presidential candidates have only chosen to campaign in about 7 states --- if we did eliminate the Electoral College the current campaign would give us an idea what that kind of election would look like -- only several states matter.

From time to time I travel to different branches to train people or travel out of state for other work related training/issues. A lot of people might be in the same boat and cant Fly back into town on Nov 6th.

Some people have planned trips and other important engagements and can't return on Nov 6th....

We live in a Country that MOVES 24/7...Thank goodness the early voting policy is there for those of us that need to take advantage of it....

Chance you talked AGAINST Obama all this year. Do you really need another month to make up your mind about who you're gonna vote for? You voted for Mitt Romney in the New York Republican Primary so naturally you're gonna vote for him next month...

Just the other day i heard a Republican say that Early Voting is WRONG, wrong, wrong. Then she stated she's voting for Romney and if early voting was allowed in her state she probably would take advantage of it. Huh?

I live in Ga and early voting start on 10/15 I think. I will go in the Tues morning and vote. I have always voted early every since I can remember. I detest standing in long lines, maybe except black fridays, lol, but again, it better be a good sale. I just like to get it out of the way and since I already know how I"m voting, I see no need in dragging it out.

I live in a vote by mail state. Because of that I tend to vote as soon as I get my ballot in the mail. That way I wont forget.

I do wish I could have voted at least once in a booth, but the election that I could first vote in was our first all vote by mail election.
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

The Presidential 4yr Election cycle is JUSt like the Summer Olympics.....If you got to get that ballot there by a Boat, train or Big balloon it doesnt matter as long as it gets there....

    Hear u MM

I am not a fan of the President as it relates to our economy which IMO is THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT SUBJECT

As for voting, I'm a registered Democrat - I live in NYC

And no I don't necessarily NEED another month but I will take the month

If I had to vote today, it would be for Romney - I think his problems are mostly campaign related - and it concerns me that he cannot seem to surround himself with smart people - or perhaps it's just that Obama's peeps are 4 years wiser - but they run circles around Mitt's team

Mitt has inserted foot in mouth but I believe him to be a moderate Republican who will exert MOST ALL of his efforts towards getting the unemployment rate lower and creating an atmosphere to improve the economy - the fact that he's rich or ran Bain doesn't bother me at all

I'm not CERTAIN - but it is my opinion that we need change - that we are NOT headed in the right direction

IF Hillary Clinton was President, it's likely I would be pulling the lever for her

IF Mitt were to expose himself terribly during these debates ......... I could perhaps change my mind

    Absentee voting in person?

I don't know if there is any early voting in person in my area. I never pursued it. I have no need; the absentee by mail works fine for me.
Yes I trust mailing my ballot. They allow over two weeks after the election for it to be delivered, as long as it was postmarked before election day.

Although I just noticed today the postage required is 65 cents; I don't remember it costing more than regular letter postage. This could actually prevent some people's ballots from being received in time, if they don't read the instructions carefully. The return envelope does not specify 65 cent postage on it, so this can easily be missed. That concerns me a bit.

In 2008, I had to re-register... new digs. I voted the same day I re-registered. I did not need a signed affidavit from the Pope. I live in a blue state.

Exactly. I don't give a shit if everyone knew the sheriff was gay so he "wasn't technically a self-loather." He's creepy: searching on the internet for a quick fuck. And a sheriff doing that?

And then having a sleepover with a state legislature who gives him border security funding and his county is nowhere near the border?

And you're writing on a gay hook-up site that you're "straight acting"? And you're in your 40's and still talking this way? WTF?

Because of this, I will be voting for a Republican over Matt Heinz.

I'm in Michigan. The state doesn't have Early Voting. I think the standards should be uniform across the nation. For example, I believe Wyoming has Early Voting. And what's dumb, comparing the two states, is that Wyoming is the lowest in population (even lower than non-state District of Columbia). Michigan, meanwhile, ranks as the No. 8 most-populous state in the country. Tell me how that makes sense for consistency!

Sent in my ballet yesterday. Damn that was so much easier than fighting the lines and wading through the petitioners on Election Day.

Now I'm waiting for on-line voting to be instituted.

I am waiting for voting by telepathic thought.

As for the above issues regarding what if you can't change your vote???? I am sincerely confused. Haven't all of the candidates had a chance to address their constituency? You know where they stand so either you are for their view of the issues or you are against.

You would vote for Romney if he was found to be an axe murderer. And for the Republicans if they were found to have a secret slogan of Arbeit Macht Frei.

It isn't only the Prez you hate...you have be systematically against just about everything that the Democrats stand for as a party.

Pretending to be coy...as though anything would change the vote you cast for Romney, or as I remember it, any wacko Republican running in the primaries, the moment the gong sounded and the Republican primaries were over is not only disingenuous..it insults the intelligence of every person who who has watched you carry the water buckets for the Republican party for the last four years/

Face it. None of us give a shit that you'd vote for anyone but Barack. For whatever reasons. You are entitled to do this. Just know that not one word that you've written over the last two years has dissuaded one person from casting their ballot...not only in favour of the intellectually and morally superior Obama...but for the principles of a party that has had to help America recover from the raping and pillaging during the BushCo. years and the party that represents the best interests of the greatest number of people...including the beleaguered middle class.

And please do not come back at me with a whole lot of personal insults.

I might vote early as I am committed to Obama, but since early voting don't start til the 22nd I have time to decide. Well, sorry about that, there is nothing to decide. I'm innit!

I mailed it in October 7th.

And don't worry, there is no possibility of "voter fraud" because there was included a little computer print out thing on the back of the envelope with my name, so I'm in the system.

They do mail-in voting here (you can also take it to a drop-off location & save postage cost)
So I will be taking advantage of that once ballots arrive...

Pretty much plan to leave the presidential question blank (just can't vote for either of those 2...especially what we've got now)
but all others will be filled out.

We have to have early voting and mail in ballots, cause we cant change that outdated law from the Agrarian Period that election day should be in the Tuesday of November.

Its a right and not a privelege. Weekends are better suited for it, unless business really were kind enough to let an employee off for more than 2 hours.

Voted like a retiree... by absentee ballot.

And I voted down the line. When I got to the propositions, I just didn't vote. Didn't feel like reading and educating myself on them.

    Fuck Arizona anyways.

I heard Barack Obama has a huge lead in a poll among early voters... and there were more early voters then in 2008.

    http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/...-voters/127671

The poll while being small shows Obama with such a large lead that it far exceeds the margin of error.

The right wing are attacking early voting sharply because they are afraid that people will be able to vote.... early voters are doing it because they don't want to be disenfranchised by the republican party and associated groups. Romney is already trying to downplay this.

Don't quote me on this but i think for the FIRST time in History The President & First Lady will vote before election day...Flotus mailed her absentee ballot in yesterday and Obama says he'll vote in person on Oct 25th....What they're doing is a good move and it will encourage voters to take advantage of voting early...

Also Gov. Nikki Haley did win the South Carolina Voter ID appeal against the Department of Justice last week....Well, sorta..A very interesting part of the law simply requires citizens that can't obatin ID to State WHY...Any reason will do.....So Gov.Haley wasted tax payer dollars to earn Republican Ass-Kissing points and pretty much got nothing....

Now Romney can stop sweating whether he'll win or lose South Carolina...

Re: I early Voted today and had no issues @ the Elections Office..Any Early Voters across the nation?

I still don't understand the purpose of early voting. I understand that some people will be out of town on that day for business, vacation, etc. therefore they can vote absentee. In fact, I'll vote absentee myself on the 27th -- because I'll be an election judge on Election Day and am not allowed to vote that day.

It's just one day. Can't everyone make arrangements to vote one day?

The only reason I can come up with why early voting is being promoted so much is that "someone" can massage the vote -- be it a republican or democrat election board.

Some can't make arrangements to vote on that day. Many work many hours. The voting day in this country is often inconvenient for many. Election day would be better on the weekend like in other developed countries (but I'm sure republicans would bitterly oppose that). Obama carried a lot of early votes in the 2008 election and he's doing it again now. So that's a reason why Romney supporters hate it.

Elections should be on weekends so turn-out can be increased... but again that would be a serious disadvantage for republicans who hope for the lowest turn-out possible.
