Until yesterday(?) all jub thread urls ended with:
where ###### was the thread id and YY was the page number.
Now the URLs end with:
This adds another qualifier and completely changes the final qualifier of the name. This change has the following impact:
- all the bookmarks of jub threads (past page 1) no longer work
- Current Google search results inside of JUB, except for the first page of a thread, are all invalid. Is there a reason that JUB no longer wants to let Google see the forums? I personally like that when I do a Google search it may include a JUB thread.
- In the past, when you saved a page of a thread, the the full thread name and the page# were included in the filename being saved. Now, when I save a page of a thread it is saved with a file name of "pageYY.html", which tells me nothing about which thread the page is from.
This is the second time that j.u.b. has changed the URLs for the various threads for no apparent reason and with no notification. I would like to see it changed back. See Bryce's explanation about why you don't allow threads to be renamed. It should apply here.
I'm also assuming that this is also why jumping into the middle of a thread is now broken. (See the thread titled "error when looking at old threads".)
