I am completely embarrassed for our state because of this idiot. Claire McCaskill and he participated in a debate on Sept 21. In an interview on the 27th about the debate he tells the Kansas City Star:

“She had a confidence and was much more ladylike (in 2006), but in the debate on Friday she came out swinging, and I think that’s because she feels threatened.”

Ladylike? WTF? Meaning of course that she wasn't "ladylike" to him. Talk about misogynistic! What is she supposed to do? Dress up like June Cleaver and bring cookies to the debate? Looks to me like he is the one that feels threatened. Dumb-ass.

Akin is not toast, people in Missouri know McCaskill and how she has repeatedly tried to cheat the taxpayers with false expense reports and her voting record.

McCaskill has a lot of skeletons in her closet -- Akin needs to have the balls to talk about it and maybe he will with money coming back into his campaign. He has to do it with ads because most, if not all media will not cover what he says ... unless it sounds controversial.

People who are aghast with Romney and his supposed off-shore accounts would be horrified with the stuff that McCaskill and her current husband own that free from US taxes.

The election will be between rural/surburban and urban voters.

Personally, I don't care for the guy -- but care less for McCaskill. I'll hold my nose as most of the people I've talked to and vote for Akin.

If McCaskill loses she will only have herself to blame because she is the one who choose Akin to run against.

Like I said I'm not a big fan -- but I along with a lot of other Missourians don't like McCaskill. Akin is barely behind her in the polls and most polls reflect the voices of suburban and urban ... not rural.

After Akin's gaffe she was very nice but has recently gone back to the the same type of ads she ran during the primary -- taking a phase out-of-context from an Akin comment and turning it around to mean something else. Akin was right -- she's not very ladylike.

The election outcome will be interesting. Hopefully no crooked crap in STL or KC.

I've done a lot of traveling the last week around the state. There are lots of Akin signs -- big ones, small ones. I have not seen any McCaskill signs yet.

Another really odd thing -- there are no signs for either presidential candidate -- it's like an off year election -- no interest.

Local candidate signs, including congressional candidates but not most statewide candidates, are very visible. I've yet to see a sign proclaim the candidate is either a republican or democrat.

Who gets to decide if two jobs are the some and if two people are doing it as well? How many million do she and her lawyer collect if the jury disagrees with the employer. Another good reason to avoid hiring women in the first place, or send the job oversees and avoid the lawsuits.

I think you miss the point entirely. If there is a flat rate pay for both men and women, then there is less job AND pay discrimination. If a woman can do the job and be paid less than a man, then surely companies would employ more women to keep their overheads lower. This is job-discrimination against men isn't it? It is in everyone's interest to keep a level playing field with the same pay levels for males and females, but to boost productivity and motivation, the employer can be allowed to introduce performance incentives so that employees can do their utmost for the benefit of the business they work for and for themselves.

As for sending jobs overseas, you'd better talk to Romney about why employing people outside the US is better than employing US workers who demand higher wages for the same job some foreigner can do for less.

I really don't remember what the polls said at the time Carnahan died in the plane crash, other than they were close. I do remember that Carnahan and his son should never have flown in a small plane in that horrible thunderstorm to collect some campaign cash -- bad move on their part.

Many people were tired of Mel. I'm not sure he would have won -- it was very competitive and after all Bush won in 2000 and carried the state. Ashcroft was an incumbent which would have given him an edge.

I've looked for the KC Star article that goes into detail about how former Sen. Harriet Woods got a commitment from Jean Carnahan the night of the plane crash and before her husband's body was found. The article does not show up in the Star's archives. I thought at the time it was extremely disturbing and raw.
