Error when looking for old threads
In the stories forum, it is often great to be able to scan old story title threads for stories you may be interested in. Up to about a week ago you were able to click on Page 1 of 27 and then after Jump to page, you could type in the number of the page you wanted to jump to (ie typing 6 would jump you to all the stories titles on page 6). It seems, at least on the 2 computers I use, that when I type in 6 now, at this point, it takes you only to page 2 (and not page 6). In order to get to page 6, you have to scroll through page 2,3,4 and so on in order to get there. So it appears there is some sort of error there and it has made stories incredibly difficult to find.
To be honest, I prefered the old system where the page numbers were displayed, and you could just click on that page number to go straight to that page of thread titles. This is just one of the inconveniences, in my opinion, especially in the stories forum, that have made the forum slightly less enjoyable compared to what it used to be, at least for me. For example, in the old forum you could see how many people had rated your story (or other peoples stories), which I thought probably used to encourage the writers. This option disappeared with the new forum.

Re: Error when looking for old threads
Further to the above, the same thing happens in individual threads. When you type in the page you want to jump to, it only seems to ever advance one page. For example, when reading a great story like GSDX's Watching Brad, it would take many sittings to read the whole thing. If you're say up to page 30, you have to laboriously scroll through 29 pages you have already read in order to get up to where you were (at least thats the case on both of my computers). In long threads, it makes the middle pages virtually inaccessible, unless you can sit here scrolling through pages, waiting for each of them to load in. Is there a reason you have made this navigating now such a time consuming task, or is there an error? Or am I doing something wrong and is there an easier way? Or is there something wrong with my browser?

Hello,
There is actually an easier way if I understand what you are trying to do correctly. At the top and bottom where it says "Page 1 of 20" or "Page 1 of 245"... Click that. It's actually a button. Then you'll get a pop down to enter the exact page number you want to go to. Please see the attachment and let me know if this solution works for you.

Re: Error when looking for old threads
Also, if you are in a thread like:
http://www.justusboys.com/forum/thre...g-Thread/page2
and want to go to page 800 (talk about a long thread!)
You can actually go to the address in your browser window and change the 2 to whatever page you want to go to ... like 800
http://www.justusboys.com/forum/thre...Thread/page800
I think the drop down mentioned in my post above is a little more user friendly but this is still another option to skip to whatever page you want.

Re: Error when looking for old threads
The drop down is what isn't currently working. (It used to work fine.) If I'm on page 1 and ask to go to page 55 (by typing 55 in the drop down) it takes me to page 6. If I'm on page 11 and use the drop down to ask to go to page 100 it takes me to page 16.
Being able to change the page number in the URL works nicely.

Re: Error when looking for old threads
Thanks Bryce. Having a link for a 5 page increment certainly helps, and thanks for the tip about changing the URL. Didn't think of that. Although statsguy is right. For me the drop down menu isn't working. It doesn't skip to the page number you specify. Typing in say 11 in Jump To in a long thread, now takes me to Page 6, instead of Page 11. I think whatever I type in takes me to page 6 actually.
