She makes no sense. Civil rights are not something that black people are owed because of the legacy of slavery; rather, they are owed civil rights because they are *people*. That's how civil rights work, and that's why women, LGBT people, etc. all deserve civil rights. The idea is not that you "earn" them by being treated horribly, the idea is that you should be granted them as equal members of a fair society. Jesus Christ.

I found this comment best summed up my own reaction to Coulter's utterly misguided misunderstanding of why civil rights exist. They aren't a reward. They aren't compensation. They are the fundamental basis of civil society. The idea that all people should be treated equally doesn't have to be exclusive.

Whoopi & Sherry went at her for her total ignorance about Blacks & race relations. Joy was unexpectantly pleasant, Elizabeth said nothing much. Barbara finally had enough & called the interview quits. No ganging up. I don't understand why this hateful woman is even invited to these shows, except for publicity. It's certainly the only reason she appears, to sell her books to the misguided souls who read them & believe them.

I heard Ann on The Rusty Humphries radio show on Thursday night I believe..A caller called in and said he was a Gay Republican and wanted Ann's Legendary advice on how to convert Gay Liberals over to the GOP..The caller said Gay liberals only care about the Marriage issue and nothing else and tend to be brain-washed by the Democrats...

Ann agreed and said that she was the First speaker at some group or event called GOP-Proud. She said NONE of the Gays there or even the Gays she knows cares about Marriage. She encouraged the caller to give his Gay liberal friends one of her many books to help in the conversion...

Another caller called in and asked Ann if she felt President Obama was not a true Patriot. She didnt answer him and she danced around the question and she began talking about the policies she doesnt agree with...

People get mad at Ann for saying the things she says about Blacks & Gays but at least she doesnt hide behind her true feelings and you know how to deal with her...
