What kind of pie do you like best?

The biggest surprise with this poll is that so far, 5 people have voted they like pumpkin pie better than cherry. (I only eat pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving Day.) Also very surprising is that apple pie has beaten out cherry, and poor peach pie got ZERO votes.

that reminds me...peach cobbler is good too. Don't know if it could be considered a pie though

I eat pumpkin pie too, but I don't like the taste of the pie crust with it..I just eat the filling

Since peach cobbler lacks a bottom crust (U.S.), it's not considered a pie. Peach pie is my third favorite type.

Yeah, we don't see these pie-types in Australia. I imagine I'd like a berry or coconut one the best though. I pretty much live on berries and coconut.

I'm still floored by this pie hole poll...out of 46 people who voted in the poll, not a single one picked peach pie as their favorite! This just boggles my mind! Who knew? How is this possible, or even probable? So I'm bumping this thread to see if there's any new members with taste buds that are genetically predisposed to a preference for this delicious tasting pie.

New Zealand (and Australia for that matter) have different pies to you guys. We put meat in them. Beef mince pies with heaps of tomato sauce are my fave. Chicken and vegetable aren't bad either.

Not really... cherry pie is a dime a dozen whereas Pumpkin is unique to the time of year. If it was a multi-poll I could have chosen all of them... I just like PIE... but if all of them were sitting there I would take a fresh warm piece of pumpkin pie over anything.... well except Key lime ....

Dammmmmmit Now I am off to go buy a pie.

It's made with key lime juice, the "key" part coming from the Florida keys, There are two kinds, the creamy kind he pictured and this kind which is thicker.




I have a recipe that's not difficult if you can find key lime juice in your area

Many grocery stores -- even way up here -- carry fresh key limes. They are ripe when yellowish. Ask your produce manager to order them.

Blueberry is best, but according to my coworker who bakes a lot (and made me a blueberry pie once) buying enough blueberries for the pie is rather expensive.

Yeah, I was surprised how "close" the two are, when I finally had sweet potato pie. I suspect that sweet potato pie is "one of the healthy ones" as well, but probably not as healthy as pumpkin.

He could save money by replacing half the blueberries with strawberries, or buy pre-frozen blueberries which are usually cheaper than fresh.
