help me find a reliable laptop: Dell, HP, Sony or ???
looking to buy a laptop for my upcoming trip
some things i desire
- core i5, i7 preferred, would settle for AMD or i3
- 1tb hard drive, would settle for 500gb
- dedicated graphics card desired for gaming, not essential
- blu ray player, not essential but wanted
- at least 4gigs of ram
- most importantly...something that wont crap out
my price range is about $450-600
can someone recommend a website or a product they own that has performed above your expectations?

LENOVO. They have overtaken HP in product sales, and they are pure quality. I just bought one of their laptops.
However in that price range you'll be hard pressed to find a 1TB hard-drive. Most laptops in that price range either have 320GB or maybe 500GB. Also in that price range you'll mainly get i3 and MAYBE i5. I7 is much more expensive. In addition, most laptops in that range have shared graphics card. You might want to up your price tag a bit.

A blu-ray player is also a tad difficult to get in that range. But, the bottomline for me is that Lenovo offers quality HP and Dell simply don't have. And they are well rated and have a low rate of failure. Sony is also good, but I still like Lenovo more.

This one does have a blu-ray player, but not quite the specs as the second Lenovo I mentioned. And a much smaller screen which isn't conducive for gaming if you use it for that. Ultimately the choice is yours.
