Bill says Jon will be on his show tonight

guessing they'll tease the cage match

Bill made an excellent case for Romney's 47 - much better than Mitt - duh

Bill is noxious but a reasonable fellow most of the time btw

why isn't ALL of the money going to charity btw? it's not like these 2 guys aren't mega wealthy

This was precisely the first thing I though when I read the OP's post. I hope neither is receiving any of the non-charity portion...

And, quite frankly, I find both to be a bit much... O'Reilly because I feel he panders beliefs even he doesn't believe to his audience and Stewart because I simply don't think he is as funny as he gets credit for (I'll take Colbert over him anyday).

    Still, should be quite entertaining.

Stewart has great delivery. I credit both him and Colbert with finding a way to deliver current events to a un-associated youth mainly not interested.

I haven't decided if I will watch. probably be a last minute thing if I am near something to watch it on when it goes down...

Here's the full debate from last night. I've watched about half so far, but right now my impression is that I am almost thinking about writing in Jon's name on my ballot. He makes a better case for giving BO four more years than BO does.

Thank you! I saw it first today, and of course the debate was yesterday. I better start paying attention to what y'all post.

Stewart, O'Reilly rumble in 'refreshingly rude' debate

    http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2...-o-reilly.html

Probably the only really honest political debate that the country will experience this year.

Good on both of them. they have great chemistry together. It would be great to see Stewart, O'Reilly and Brian Williams in a threesome.

Bill-O also accused Jon for making sweeping generalizations about Fox News viewers. But making sweeping generalizations with no supporting facts obviously is something Bill-O has always been good at.

    I watched the whole thing.
O'Reilly was friendly (compared to his show at fox) but Stewart won the debate.
Both of them was like a married couple which is a good thing.

Re: Debate date announced ... Jon Stewart vs Bill O'Reilly!

Great show, it didn't disappoint. When Stewart opened with the line "My friend Bill O'Reilly is full of shit." I nearly peed my pants.

Both guys did a great job. Both are really funny guys. Stewart won on facts, but Bill O' won a few himself - he was right about Jon's bad budget math, for example. Bill's weird little Powerpoint cards reinforced his "old man" image. Stewart laughed when Bill used "Gerry And the Pacemakers" as a musical reference, so Bill zinged back by changing it to Lil' Wayne. BOOOM!

At the end, they discuss what they respect about each other, and it's quite touching. Despite being political opposites, they both have a clear respect for each other, and they enjoy these sparring matches.

I watched it twice. If only the real debates were this entertaining AND intelligent.

I was only going to watch the first ten minutes, but got sucked into over an hour when I had a busy day to attend. Going to finish the rest tonight. The debate has been 100x better than the actual presidential debate. It's a damn shame when our pundits can argue the facts and debate the issues in this country better than the men running for the highest office.

Those two should moderate the next presidential debate.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Re: Debate date announced ... Jon Stewart vs Bill O'Reilly!

I didn't watch this debate but saw a clip last night on CNN. I found the clip interesting because O'Reilly gave a thoughtful answer about media discourse via the extremists. He said that, of course, it comes from capitalism. They want to make money and, he added, that some radio and TV personalities (he didn't name names but think Hannity, Beck and Limbaugh) from both sides don't believe half of what they espouse but are simply telling people what they want to hear because it brings in the jack. Not really shocking but the people who often bow to these 'personalities' totally buy-in. It was nice to hear Bill at least come right and call BS on them.

I don't like O'Reilly. Far too smug. But, one thing I do like about both he and Stewart is that while they lean different politically, they both have no qualms with calling BS on their own parties. So many "info-entertainers" march in line with their party's gospel nearly 100% of the time.

Looks like Bill O got some serious love here on a board that generally loathes him

    That's a start

    Still have not seen it

I think Bill in the same room as Jon helps Bill's brand and while he supports the concept of Fox News being "fair and balanced" (party line) he recognizes Sean is a conservative putz

He was talking about himself and others like him.
Also he was trying to sell 2 books during the debate.
