Brent Corrigan (Sean Paul Lockhart) is currently filming a new horror movie called, KISSING DARKNESS.


KISSING DARKNESS synopsis:
A group of college boys, bored with the every day “gay life” of LA, decide to skip Pride weekend in exchange for a camping trip in the woods. Quickly overcome with boredom in their new surroundings, the boys venture into a game that ultimately unleashes the vengeful spirit of a local legend known as Malice Valeria. Overcome by her deadly plan of tainted love and her thirst to take back what was lost long ago, the boys must now band together before they fall victim to the poisons of a broken heart…

The film also stars Ronnie Kroell, who has appeared in PlayGirl Magazine

I do like supporting low budget films. I liked Sideline Secrets. It all has to be kept in perspective and u have to appreciate what is being created with almost no $. We think of low budget at the theatre as a couple million but were not even talking about that. Perhaps James can enlighten us on what a typical budge is for this kind of film. Sideline did hold my interest despite some of the actors being bad...other performances in it were quite good. I enjoyed the nudity in it, too...I must confess

Ronnie Kroell may be a great guy, but I've seen him try to act and it wasn't pretty. Unless his role is to silently take off his clothes, his presence doesn't bode well for the quality of this movie. (I actually have fewer concerns about Corrigan and any other porn actors who may be participating handling their acting responsibilities.)

lets just say the original SIDELINE SECRETS was made for a measly $1,300 (yes one thousand, three hundred dollars!)
Kissing Darkness is a vast improvement on that budget, but still very small. Just enough to pay actors, supply food, cover some wardrobe... a lot of dedicated time from crew and friends helping out. a lot of donated props and locations, etc.
making low budget films is far from glamorous.
The cabin we filmed out, house the entire cast, and three crew members for the week on location there. the cast slept on the floor and shared one bathroom. It was totally a camp-out experience!

are they useless? taking into consideration, they pay my bills, and my current release LUNA PARK is actually the #2 Bestseller right on on TLA-- I think that answers the question pretty fairly as to why i "produce useless movies"

For $1300, that was a very good film indeed.

I like low budget films, I can't belive the poster calls them 'junk'. It is a free market...not every thing should be $100 million dollar Lucas and Spielberg films. The marketplace has room for films of all budgets.

From my own viewing experience, low budget dramas are much safer bets in regards to quality than films that require use of more special effects. The SciFi / horror genres, unless intentional, usually end up embarrassing. But for dramatic films, you don't need big $ to tell a quality story about real life and emotions effectively.

I wrote and directed the film. Our main target audience is actually males 35-50.. at least that is what sales report tend to show on majority of our releases.

If there is anything worse than low budget gay films, it's low budget gay horror films. You know the "acting" part in the beginning of porn scenes before they start to fuck? These movies are like extended versions of those scenes. Softcore porn which nobody would bother to check out if it didn't have hot guys.

So yeah I've pretty much given up on these type of movies but still good luck with it.

I could sit and watch Ronnie Kroell read a menu for hours, he's just awesome.

Love the promo, the script seems pretty sharp, the blonde guy saying "it smells like wilderness" got a laugh out of me.

I'll have to keep an eye for it's release to DVD, buying films from Amazon and TLA online are the only way I can manage to get hold of them in Australia.

Kyle Blitch is playing the all too common but painful gay cliché. I think that idea is a bit outdated.


However, I respect independent filmmaking. I wish you all the luck in the world with this movie and your future projects as well.
