I can't not think of my ex when this song plays.
My boyfriend loves Paulina Rubio... and this is one of his favorite songs... and when I hear it reminds me of him![]()

"Its better to burn out than fade away"
Hellogoodbye
"Baby, It's Fact"
Just in case they're wondering
They've got us pinned terribly
They don't believe our love is real
Cause they don't know how real love feels
You should know it's true
Just now, the part about my love for you
And how my heart's about burst
Into a thousand pieces
Oh it must be true
And They'll believe us to soon
Baby, it's fact
That our love is true
The way black is black
And blue is just blue
My love is true
It's a matter of fact
Oh, and you love me too
It's as simple as that
Baby, our love is true
They may say some awful things
But there's no point in listening
Your words are the only words
That I believe in afterwards.
You should know it's true
Just now, the part about my love for you
And how my heart's about burst
Into a thousand pieces
Oh it must be true
And They'll believe us to soon
Baby, it's fact
That our love is true
The way black is black
And blue is just blue
My love is true
It's a matter of fact
Oh, and you love me too
It's as simple as that
Baby, our love is true
none... following a breakup, pretty much any song associations in my head become negative ones.
had to delete every boy band off my playlist because of that.
Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson...
Inspired - but too tired.
You Make Me Feel, Mighty Real-Sylvester
We use to dance to this during the disco run, and one of our greatest times when we saw Sylvester in LA, I believe 1978.
My Guy
Nothing you could say
Can tear me away from my guy
Nothing you could do
'Cause I'm stuck like glue to my guy
I'm stickin' to my guy
Like a stamp to a letter
Like the birds of a feather
We stick together
I'm tellin' you from the start
I can't be torn apart from my guy
Nothing you can do
Could make me untrue to my guy
Nothing you could buy
Could make me tell a lie to my guy
I gave my guy my word of honor
To be faithful and I'm gonna
You best be believing
I won't be deceiving my guy
As a matter of opinion I think he's tops
My opinion is he's the cream of the crop
As a matter of taste to be exact
He's my ideal as a matter of fact
No muscle bound man
Could take my hand from my guy
No handsome face
Could ever take the place of my guy
He may not be a movie star
But when it comes to being happy we are
There's not a man today
Who could take me away from my guy
No muscle bound man
Could take my hand from my guy
No handsome face
Could ever take the place of my guy
He may not be a movie star
But when it comes to being happy we are
There's not a man today
Who could take me away from my guy
There's not a man today
Who could take me away from my guy
(Tell me more)
There's not a man today
Who could take me away from my guy
Pretty much sums it up
He Was a Friend of Mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I think of him
I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause he was a friend of mine
He died on the road
He died on the road
He just kept on moving
Never reaped what he could sow
And he was a friend of mine
I stole away and cried
I stole away and cried
'Cause I never had too much money
And I never been quite satisfied
And he was a friend of mine
He never done no wrong
He never done no wrong
A thousand miles from home
And he never harmed no woman
And he was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I hear his name Lord
I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause he was a friend of mine
My boyfriend showed me this song and whenever I hear it, I think of him. Beautiful.
A translation for the main lyrics
Flowing through my veins
There's no me without you
You're part of my life
I love you
There's another song which he sung to me while he was kind of drunk. I don't if I'll post it. It was funny though, you know... because he was drunk.

Husband of mine...
Man it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My munequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
Your my reason for reason
The step in my groove
And if you say this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Cause you're so smooth
And just like the ocean under the moon
Well that's the same emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin that can be so smooth
Gimme your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it
I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it would be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio, you hear my rhythm from your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
Turning you round and round

"How Do You Speak to an Angel" by the great Etta James*
It was playing the first time we kissed in front of our friends.
The kiss was not planned.
One of our good buddies asked if this was something they would need to get used to seeing.
We said "YES" in unison.
He said "Alright then".
We were only out to this circle of friends, at the time, but they had never seen us show such obvious affection.
They've seen lots of it since.
*sorry, I don't know how to post a YouTube video here.
Everyone wants to be heard. No one wants to listen.
the original version, the best version, the ONLY version...
Thank you, BP.
Everyone wants to be heard. No one wants to listen.
I play this one when I stalk them on facebook with a box of tissues beside me.

This was his favorite song. He was going through a very difficult time with his parents' divorce, and it consoled him. I learned to love it...and I found love in him. The only boy I've truly loved, and will love forever.
Unfortunately, fate did not bring us together. There were some issues that happened between other people aiming to keep us apart. We're still on speaking terms; he's in a relationship with another, ironically with the same first name. I've come to peace with it, and I'm glad he's happy. There's not a day that goes by when I don't think of him. I believe he's one of the reasons I never wanted to come out of the closet and date back in high school. I missed out on a lot because of it. I've never felt such a love to another person that wasn't a family member as I did for him. It was pure heartache losing him on such a simple mistake.
^This was originally a Bob Dylan song, but I like Willie's version better...
Remind me of fantastic dinner with him on Space Needle
"All Time High," by Rita Coolidge and, "Solid," by Ashford and Simpson.
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."--Dr. Seuss
Horrible!
~Courtney Hoyo.
We're both gamers; and were both playing Fallout 3 around the time we met, so this song kind of tied us together a little bit.
I'm sorry to have kept you waiting, but I'm afraid my walk has become rather sillier recently...
This was playing in a restaurant the first time I met him for a date. I was mesmerized by the time I spent with him when I first met him, excited that this might be something, yet very very afraid of what investing my feelings into someone else even meant for me and my future.
But mostly, I was excited to see him, to have dinner with me, sit across from his bedroom eyes and just get to know him.
And on top of all that good emotion, I remembered what a good song this was and how much I loved it when it first came out. It became a song I listened to on repeat for the following days and it always reminds me of him now, even after he's left my life.
Not my kind of music at all but this guy I had a major crush on told me to listen to this song and now I think of him everytime i hear it and wonder if I shoulda have confessed![]()
Not exactly an ex. Just a fling.
