Saw this film a few weeks ago. Walking out of the cinema, I was pretty dissapointed in what seemed like a pointless and over-long exercise in style over substance. Over the next few days I caught myself thinking about the film, particularly of the relationship between Freddie, Lancaster and Freddie's wife. Have my own conclusions but suffice to say it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was initially. Also, Hoffman never dissapoints and he really carries this film (IMHO).

I remember being engrossed and impressed watching his "There Will Be Blood" but somehow I'm not feeling motivated to sit through all that angst again.
