I brought a flash drive from bestbuy a month ago or so. I started copying video files to the flash drive it was working. I let it sit and it disconnected and now that error pops up "Usb flash drive please insert disk into drive" I tried to change the letter i get the same error is the drive damaged?

Re: Usb flash drive please insert disk into drive
There is the potential the drive is damaged and not reading... this is the problem with those. I have had several fail on me. What I would recommend is buying an SD Card reader and have SD cards... those are better and have lower chances of failing.
May I ask what brand it is?

Yeah, USB thumb drives are prone to failure, unfortunately, as GC says. If there's no valuable data on it, you can try re-formatting it to see if it comes back to life.

I lost a 24 slide presentation back in grad school two weeks before it was due... and didn't back it up anywhere else (my own fault!). That was when I switched to more stable SD cards.
