[merged] Why do some people make themselves more ugly?

It is a fact there are few good lookers, most of us are just average. In gay world, attraction is what most people want.
To be able to attract and get some love may be.

Funny, many men/boys make themselves ugly by having crazy pierced jewellery, smoking and gross tattoo. They really repel other people, it is the opposite of what they want. They have large tattoos, ear rings, nipple rings on top of their skinny bodies or fat bodies. How are they going to have a love life in a rewarding partnership?

Ok, but to them they enjoy that, and I'm sure they'll be able to find someone who equally enjoys, tattoos, smoking, etc.

.........How does a piercing or two make someone uglier? I have tattoos. I smoke. And I've never had an issue attracting people. Furthermore....this leaves out the possibility that people can also be attracted to personality.

However...I really don't feel like going on a diatribe.

Re: Why do some people make themselves more ugly?

man, i think it's very annoying to find all this superficiality, vanity and dumb shit where everyone is basically pushing everything about themselves with their face, their body, their clothes and basically how "good" they can look. it's ridiculous. at the end of the day, it's not all about your face and how you look. in fact, if someone has to go to that level, it's suggesting that something isn't right and they're using their looks to make up for something they're lacking. maybe a personality, maybe they're crazy, maybe something is up with them. in fact, if someone only likes you because you look good, you should question their motives because chances are they probably don't give a fuck about you.

with that said, i don't think it's also good to not care about your appearance either to the point where you tattoo your whole face up, stop with this body modification shit too and basically not give a fuck about yourself too. in some cases, how you look is also reflection of how you treat yourself or if there's something up with you too. just like it's said that people that have an excessive amount of tattoos where their whole body is tatted up may be trying to cover up past childhood traumas such as abuse or being too thin or being too fat may be someone with an eating disorder. it can also determine whether you're able to get a date because nobody wants to date someone that is a bum or if you get a job depending on how you market yourself such as presenting yourself like a worthy candidate for a job. there has to be a balance. you can't give too much and give little care about how you look.

but i have to say that today's society really cares way too much about how someone outer appearance to the point where people are dying over it. at some point, you have to say fuck it. you cannot worry about looking photogenic for every picture or look handsome every moment you step out the door and shit. you will go crazy over that. the real you is going to come out and your looks aren't really going to matter. you can still ugly even if you're attractive. as long as someone is content with how they look, i don't think it's an issue as long as it's not a sign that they need help or if it's something that's hurting them.

    Everybody finds different things attractive.

Personally, I have no tattoos, no piercings, don't smoke, don't wear any jewelry. If someone else does, that's up to them. It's just not for me.

I have had very little success attracting people. I know I'm not good looking. I think looks plays a big role. Superficial, yes, but that's the way the world works...

I certainly wouldn't hate anybody because they are beautiful. I would probably be envious, but hate is a very different thing.

Shit I have done alright with all of what you hate, but then again I might not be so fucking attracted to you. Your views here paint the invisible side of a person that is uglier then a rotting wild boar road killed covered in flies on a hot muggy July afternoon.

Re: Why do some people make themselves more ugly?

I'm sure someone has already said it, but I'll reiterate it. Attraction is different for everyone. While some people people believe there is a universal idea of beauty, there really isn't. For instance, I think large, crooked noses and big ears are some of the sexiest things a man can have in a purely superficial way. And although I would never get a tattoo or a piercing other than my earlobe, I think some piercings and creative tattoos are super attractive...I'm an artist obviously
Quite honestly, I find it more attractive for someone to do as they please and express themselves fully rather than to succumb to societal standards just to find a man. What kind of relationship would that even turn out to be if one partner weren't who they truly wanted to be? Only stable, strong, passionate men are able to do whatever the fuck they want. As long as they aren't hurting anyone, it's fine.
It's all about finding someone you're compatible with.

Made me think of this post. I'd date either of them. Bring them home to my parents and everything... (if their personalities were good, too.) Attachment 832253

    I don't have any tattoo's

    I don't have any piercings

I don't have any body modifications

I don't have crazy hair styled in weird colours

My situation has never benefited or hindered my love life, however I have been told that I should go out and get a tattoo or piercing. It is not my style so I won't, but unless it is butt ugly and stupid I don't have any right to judge other people on how they want to decorate their body.

By butt ugly and stupid, I am talking about things like bad tattoo art (amateur probably or cheap) with subjects such as girlfriend names, boyfriend names, silly catchphrases etc in places that they will regret.

edit; and I won't get a tattoo because I am a typical Libra personality when it comes to making choices. And guaranteed 100% I would regret a choice I make, then I am stuck with it. Piercing is more acceptable, however none of the jobs I have or apply for allow piercings.

I have a tattoo, a lip ring, and an earring in both ears. My boyfriend has several tattoos, and a piercing in both ears. he used to have eyebrow and labret as well, but removed them when he worked at Ferrerro. If we're doing it wrong, I don't want to do it right. If some idiot troll thinks I'm ugly, I'm not losing any sleep over the fact.

What do you think of tattooists

I know we live in a free country but when I look at perfect bodies with smooth tan skin being stamped by grafities, they are so tragic. The tattoes ruin nature's perfection. Not everybody has perfection but hot perfect bodies with grafity is criminal.
When I were a tattoist, I would tell the teen to think about it, come back in a week. The tattoist should be able to be charged

I agree...I am a nurse and I have seen many many old people botched up with tats...look terrible! Think ahead people, with age your skin is going to wrinkle and sag . I have seen a lot of tats on older people that are just patches of blurred ink. The worst of all are the people who have face tats, just imagine yourself at 60 years of age or older...Like I say think ahead.

I've never understood why people want Tats on their bodies..For the most part I think some people get them because they see one on someone else and are curious...Every man has his own Tat-story..

I've dated Men & Women that have Beautiful & Unique designs....It's just not my thing...

Re: What do you think of tattooists

Well, I do find tattoos a turn on, but they're not a necessity. If I were to get one, it would have to be perfect. And that would take forever. I'd be too indecisive. I really like nice tattoos with muscles, but just nice bodies are fine as well.

I'm sure there are some tattoo artists that tell customers, especially drunk ones, to think about it first.

This seems to be the resurrection of an old, old thread: tattoos - for or against? As far as I'm concerned, people can do what they like to or with their bodies. I happen to think that some tattoos look good on some people, and others look awful, and do you know what? - my opinion isn't worth shit. It's just what I think.

I happen not be tattooed or pierced anywhere (but I am circumcised). Somebody on these forums once said that the difference with tattooed people and un-tattooed people was that the tattooed people didn't care whether anybody else had tattoos or not.

I personally find Tattoo art fascinating. It's also very difficult since it's drawing on someone's skin (and can't undone it). Granted I am fine with small tattoos like a small cross or a circle is fine. But when it takes up half of the body it get's really distracting.

Old people skin looks like shit anyway tattoo or not. And if I make to 85 I really won't care what my tat looks like because by then the whole world looks like blurred ink and a gin and tonic.

Tell us nurse what does the old skin look like on a health nut body builder who pumped a lot of iron and build like the terminator when 40? Perhaps they shouldn't do that cause they look like a melted candle of fat at 80 too.

I think tattooes look gross but, as long as the tattooeist operates within the law, we have to accept that some idiots want to disfigure their bodies.

Personally I think they have body dismorphia. How the hell can they think their bodies look good covered in unsightly ink?

To each their own. There's good tat and bad ones. The best advice I heard was if someone wants a tat, pick a design and put it somewhere where you're going to see it every day, over and over. If you still like it after 6 months or so then you might have something you want on your body. Then go find a good tattoo artist.

Re: What do you think of tattooists

People go way overboard with tattoos these days, I know so many young people who get the who get "the ink itch" on such a regular basis they tend to throw on any kind of tattoo. All you see on facebook "Itching for new Ink" and a few hours later they get a new tattoo. I know one girl who gauged out her ears now shes almost done College and guess what she has to get her ears fixed if she wants to be taken seriously for a job. I'm all for expressing your self but people need to learn how to do it in a moderation rather then getting everyone and their baby momma tattooed on your body. It may be fine for now but what about 20 years from now? and that Band that you were in at 20 is long gone and you don't talk to the members anymore? or that group you and your friends made up and you got the letters tattooed all over your body? Honestly i think god everyday i didn't made a stupid choice and get ink all over my body.

I just think a majority of people get tattoos just to look cool and try to fit in i don't think much people put any effort or time into getting tattoos. I always see people with the same tattoos or people who tattoos look like they got it done by a blind person. I know a few 16 year old kids and they have tattoos i feel bad for them because they are ugly.

I know three people who have their entire bodies tattooed...two guys and one girl...and all three of them are extraordinarily interesting and creative (and very intelligent) people. I love the art and I love looking at it...one of the guys has a snake on his cock. I asked to see it of course and then I wanted to see him get it hard...he obliged. Fascinating.

I was sitting in a tattoo parlor in Hong Kong once waiting to get a tattoo. I had taken some acid though and the guy getting the tattoo while I was waiting was screaming in pain and every scream he made went through my body like razors...so I left.

I got a small-sized (1 inch tall by 2 in. wide) variant of the HD logo in my sigpic below for my 30th birthday a few weeks ago. I didn't regret it then. I don't regret it, now. It's on my right bicep. And now, I have one of my bucket list items crossed off - I will die with a tattoo on me.

I don't like tattooes generally. But there is something strangely slutty about some men sporting some tattooes. Having said that I tend to think of tattoo art as schlock -- but only because the canvas is the human body. I think some tattoo artist are very talented. I'd just rather see their art hanging in a museum than walking the streets.

Most people want to look good but some want to make it ugly

Most normal people want to look good, to look attractive then others make themselves repellent by having
tattoos & piercing on the nose, belly button and nipples. They spend hours sculpting their bodies in the gym but they ruin their look.Click image for larger version.

Many of them have natural good look and hot body but they deface their good look. It is a lifetime grafitti but they are so flippant. With girls, tattoos look worse because the tattoos make them look like cheap hookers

I like tattoos and piercings, but I don't look down on those who don't have them.

I like tattoos and piercings within reason.
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.

Not everyone considers their body an ornament for society. They don't have to ask if all or most or any of us approve or like what they want to do to themselves. If they choose to tattoo themselves, pierce themselves, pearl themselves, or otherwise modify themselves, they don't have to run it by you. They don't have any responsibility to you to make themselves look how you'd like them to look.

I now don't mind tattoos as long as the guys are fit and healthy.
I understands it is an investment/ownership for them to have tattoos done.

    But i don't like piercing.

their body, their choice so who cares. with that said, i want to get a lip piercing on my bottom lip. that would be so rad. the plan is to grow my hair so i can get twists, then dye my hair blue with the twist in it and have a lip piercing. freak of nature indeed. thought about a nose piercing but not trying to look like dennis rodman

he sounds a lot like marco, doesnt he? he may not be using neon colours and giant fonts, but with the all-bold and his inability to separate between opinions and facts, hes already halfway there.

I still want to get "虹色" tattooed on my right inner ankle but my mom would never allow it and I respect her because I get monies from her. Some people definitely go overboard and it becomes disgusting. Fuck, [and FML for revisiting my past] but in particular, I find tramp stamps, especially on guys, repulsive and it is partially what turned me off from sex with my ex. Course, I could go through the motions with my various piercings but that is for you to find out where they were.

Then you're going to need a new avatar. But that should be no problem, since you change avatars faster than you change your underwear (I think anyway).

They can do what they want to their own body. Everyone has different tastes and some can find them more appealing with those tats. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, blah blah.

It will probably be a blow to the lovely people with tattoos that you think they look like cheap hookers...poor them.
