    LOL girls girls....

Janis does an alright version but I prefer a mans voice singing "Holding Bobby's body close to mine" although the gasoline gargling acid queen was manly looking she still had a 'gruff' feminine voice...

"Lord wont you buy me a Mercedes Benz" was her deal... for me...

    Gas is still 3.32

And I love going to the birthplace of college basketball to hear them show out my name... it is inspiring...

$3.49 to $3.59, unless you can get it at the out-of-the-way corporate-only station, where it's $3.39.

Good. It's not his fault. It's never the fault of any president.

Regarding gas prices, metro Chicago is following right behind L.A. - $399.9 is average. Yesterday, I saw a few stations over $400.9, but the week is young. I'm "amused" that our prices are consistently above the national average.

It is always his fault. He controls the entire nation and the economy... he can snap his fingers and lower gas prices to $2 dollars... lulz

    I was only kidding

Yea, California prices are always higher because we have strict standards on the grade of gas (which keeps air cleaner), plus a bit more in tax.

CGY your gas prices whether it be diesel or electric are contained in your taxes. I like my transport it has followed me across the nation to 32 states with both dense and sparse population and even took me for a ride on a small island in the pacific...

not that I am against Transport but it doesn't meet all circumstances... AND we are woefully behind creating that infrastructure....

The media would be going after the President by now for the extreme increase in gas prices if he was a republican.

Paid $3.53 early on Sunday -- saw the price had gone up to $3.69 early Monday morning.

It's $4.15/gallon here... for the lowest. And no I'm not blaming the black guy still... because the President doesn't control the gas prices. The people that bankroll the GOP pretty much do.

    $3.69 -- big jump.

Ironically, the numbers all changed the day Senator Wyden was here for a town hall meeting where he related that figures he's seen as part of his energy committee work indicated there was going to be a big jump and there wouldn't be any explanation for it at all, meaning it's almost certainly nothing but speculators using the system to profit off the rest of us.

Reducing demand on oil is the only solution, e.g. increased fuel efficiency.

There has been no global growth in oil production since 2006, and there never will be again. Don't be fooled by announcements of new oil discoveries; most of them are only enough to satisfy global demand for a few weeks. No bandaid, such as busting big oil, is going to reduce prices.

I work more than one job because I actually enjoy the work I do [at least my "part-time" jobs]. You would need at least a household income of $80k to live "comfortably" in MA which is easier than it sounds. Fuck, I actually suggest that people come work up in MA for a decade or so and earn a shit ton of money and then move to a "lesser" area. I chuckle over the fact that I could pretty much buy a McMansion in Georgia for $300k and that would barely get you 1Ksqft in the Boston area.

    price is still $3.69

when Obama finishes his golf lessons with Tiger and says no to the XL pipeline -- you'll be able to watch the price explode.

Again with failed swings at Obama... have anymore naive swings to take at him? The XL pipeline would do next to nothing to reduce prices. This country is already producing more and more of its own oil... the issue is refinery production.

All republicans want is to destroy the environment by proposing a pipeline that would have next to no impact on reducing priecs. Yeah.. Get real.

This isn't me mining information. This is me being more coherent "buzzed" than many people are sober.

If you didn't drive an SUV that mandates you use "premium gasoline", I am sure your gas price would be lower. I will at least admonish that said SUV is not a gas guzzler [I prefer reversing the noun 'guzzler' only when modified by "cum"] that gets less than 20 combined MPGs.

The intent of the Keystone Pipeline will not do anything to alleviate gas prices, chance1 and Jack_Springer.

As the economy gets better, gas prices get worse. When the economy gets worse, gas prices get better. At some point between $4.50-$5.00 range, gas prices begin to choke the economy. Until we remove ourselves from the dependency of oil (not just foreign oil), we will never escape the vice grip of gasoline prices.

Fortunately, the Obama Administration has mandated higher fuel efficiencies for vehicles. So we may inevitably pay for higher gas prices, but they will be offset by driving vehicles that drive further on a gallon of gas. As we continue to build new solar and wind energy power, we will use less oil and gas to power our electricity. These are all ideas proposed by the Obama Administration.

We must abandon oil. No matter how much less gas we use here in the United States, or how much we produce, it won't matter. China and India will consume every barrel of oil we don't consume, plus more. There is no U.S. economic policy when it comes to oil that will bring down oil prices. So long as China and India's economies continue to grow, we will see 2.5 billion people exponentially use more oil every year.

This is the reality we live in. That is mathematical fact based on 2.5 billion people needing oil versus the 330 million of us. The demand for oil has only begun. Any status quo of pumping out more oil and refining it for gasoline to drive our economy is irrelevantly suicidal.

    here's the rest of that.

"ExxonMobil is the largest non-government owned company in the energy industry and produces about 3 percent of the world's oil and about 2 percent of the world's energy."
