Always interesting to me the gas tax thingy here in GA. We supposedly have the cheapest or next to the cheapest gas tax in the nation yet we clearly do not have the cheapest gas. Yes, the EPA makes metro Atlanta areas pay extra for certain ozone friendly additives to go in the gas, but the rest of the state doesn't have to do this. So, why isn't gas cheaper here I always ask? Somebody's making out. Ah, kuli, to be Oregon and not have to pump your own gas...the good life.
Yeah where do you live cause I just search our area and it comes back as 3.16 the cheapest.... Sams?
I paid 3.22 at Ft Leavenworth.... which military bases pay no taxes BUT the gas stations to not completely undersell local stores offers gas at the average of the three lowest local prices.

Well, Jay...I'm in GA...we're often told by the state that we have...and this is merely recollection but came up during a referendum in the summer...that we have the 49th or 50th lowest gas tax in the nation...I believe it was 14.5 cents a gallon. So, one would deduct our fuel prices would be near the bottom. And they are not bad. But, many times I find gas cheaper in TN. Right now it's around 3.50 near my house but 3.35 across town.
The price reflects what the merchant can get from the local market as well. I just wanna know what type of store Jack is going to because I drive all over the KC area and can easily choose to fill up at whichever store that is especially if it is a full 20 cents cheaper.

I know you have posted your irrational hate for two feet to your left almost every five posts in JUB... we get it.
It is in all fifty states. They charge the same amount as local market and all additional funds go into the morale welfare and recreation fund. We also pay no tax on base shopping for food or any other item. Take it up with the congress from the 1900's when they started the practice.
I was looking for a store name. I have two fuel checkers that get info about every seller in the area and none have 2.99. So not doubting just want to know the store so I can purchase gas at such a low low price unavailable anywhere else in the region. The apps I use post all QT prices. weird that your store undersells all QT's by 20 cents and of course they dont report that like everyone of there other stores so they dont have a run on gas at that single unique location.

Gas prices have completely plunged but compared to what I'm hearing from you guys I'm still paying a premium.
It was $4.19 at a Chevron station... and that's the cheapest in the area right now. Maybe it'll go below $4... but we're still paying a high price. Nonetheless, the gas at that same Chevron hit $4.59 for regular at one point 2 weeks ago.
Thank goodness I have a Corolla.. fuel efficiency at its best.
'Twas so, once upon a time …
I blame Governor Perdue for the increase in Georgia’s fuel tax rates.
http://www.api.org/statistics/fuelta...el-summary.pdf
Oh my...thank Opin. Eye-opening. Our 'fuel tax' is low in GA. Our "other" is out fo control. Lots of hidden fees...you know, those fees that Sonny passed through where he and the Repubs could still say they had not raised taxes. I'm glad our 'zone' did not pass the recent transportations sales tax increase back in the summer.
Kuli, I really did love my week in Oregon having others pump my gas. Felt like I was creating jobsNot to mention nostalgic. Just wasn't always easy to find gas stations around there. Here there are 4 on every corner.
That's not why Oregon gas is so expensive, though. New Jersey is the other state where you are required to let the store pump your gas, and the New Jersey gas prices are traditionally the lowest in the Northeast.
The lowest I found while in Oregon three weeks ago, and again about two weeks ago, was $3.93 in Medford at Fred Meyer, but I don't have a store card for there. I should, though!
About 24 hours ago, here in AUSTIN, TEXAS (still traveling!), I paid 3.31nine. I actually saw a 3.28nine just after I filled up.
I don't call anything like this the "CHEAPEST" gas that I saw - I only say the "lowest." I only use the "cheapest" term when national gas prices are definitely low, like an average of $2.17 or something (well, anything below $2.50 I guess).
Good side.
Bad side.
You don't need to be that secretive, Jack - nobody's gonna come and "get" you, haha. I don't think of either side, in that area, as being the "bad" side.

New prices for regular. It's down another 5-10 cents since I last posted.
Arco - $3.99 (not worth it)
76 - $4.09
Chevron - $4.09 (LGBT friendly company I recently learned)
Corpus Christi Tx 3.12 and 3.19 at Valero
I paid $35 for 33L this morning but didn't notice the price… $1.06 per litre i guess...

$3.97 is the lowest in town. I'm waiting for it to drop another dime before I buy any more.

^ 91 cents lower here in Oklahoma City than yours, K. I may see it even lower in Missouri before I'm home.

Dropped to $3.87. Word is we'd better all fill up now before the oil companies use Sandy as an excuse to gouge some more.

They better come up with a damn good reason to use Sandy... there isnt very much gasoline manufacturing going on on the eastern seaboard.
Damn.... check that there are six refineries on the sea board affected... yet the refineries are already back operating so how it can push prices higher for a long term is anyone's guess

I didn't go that way - I went straight east to Russellville, Arkansas instead...THENCE northward. I didn't see any prices matching Oklahoma City's 306nine (at one place I saw, with many more below 310). I got 318nine at Kingdom City, Missouri a few hours ago but that was the lowest I ever saw after leaving OK City.
I noticed it's 323nine here, which is VERY strange. Gas prices here in Ill-Noise are NEVER within five cents of the lowest prices that I see in Missouri.

$3.01 in East Tennessee.
Gas prices have plunged .20 cents since the last time I posted...
$3.75 - 76
$3.79 - Mobil
$3.83 - Chevron (this is my preferred station, because of Techron and their LGBT friendly policies)
Paid $2.96 on Sunday.
Just checked gas buddy -- $2.94 now

Yeah Jack it never made sense to me that the boonies would have cheaper gas than the cities.... same thing happened in memphis when I lived there.... Millington was always ten cents cheaper at a minimum.

Get ready for it.
The Energy Board of Canada is telling us that because of Hurricane Sandy, the decreased refinery output during this whole event is going to mean short supplies and higher prices as the oil companies seize the opportunity to extract higher prices.
So don't blame the government for this one. They don't control refining capacity.

On average it costs 3x more here than the US average.
It was a total shock for me when I visited a fuck buddy at the military base and he let me fill up my car with the cheap gas.
It always amazes me how Americans think their gas price is high.
Everything is relative Geiri.... you guys subsidize your entire public trans system with your exuberant taxes... we opt to not have a public trans and be fat green house gas contributors....

A lot of the difference in regional gas prices has to do with the taxes involved... if Mass charged nine dollars a gallon which would be similar to European rates then they could easily pay for mass transit and at that price would have plenty of customers....

$3.079 a gallon in Southwest Dallas as of this afternoon.
Never regret anything, because in that moment it's exactly what you wanted.![]()
We pay $3.79 for gas on average here in LA right now... but our Public transportation is a pile of sh*t. I have nothing nice to say about it. One time I was waiting in this desolate part of town for two hours for the bus. I was over there to return a cable TV box. I'm happy I have my Corolla now. In the US, there are very few cities with effective public transportation. LA isn't one of them. San Francisco is one that does have a good public transportation system.
We can't charge much more for gas in this country because many rely on their cars to get to work... if the public transportation existed then it would be better... but this is a pretty big country. Even LA is too sprawling for an effective public transportation system. It would be hideously expensive to expand the MTA into something that is effective...
Yup that is the problem with Public trans in the US. What works for Boston or New York or even San fran does not work for CIncinnati and is impossible to be employed in a place like Dallas FT Worth. That is why healthy trans has sprung up around cities that can use it properly...
Europe decided to provide every six inches with a rail stop and now pay hand over foot to maintain and operate that convenience.

Well the mentality in Europe is different and they are fine with paying for that. I understand it as I've been to Europe numerous times... and have family over there. People don't drive as much... and getting a driving license is a pain in the @$$. In Spain, it was 800 euros if I recall to take the test once. You need to study a huge book and memorize everything. The California DMV book is a joke... it's like 20 pages long lol.
The other difference is people from all walks of life use the metro system in Europe, including the wealthy. The public transportation in the US is used mainly by the working class generally speaking. They did try to extend light rail services in LA recently though... the Gold line... right into Pasadena... with the intention of getting more people using it. It worked... to an extent.
Anyways this is all off topic.![]()
I think we have a world record in car ownership here and the usage on public transport is very little (no tubes or trains just buses).
But then again it's a small nation in with big road system (for the population) so the tax needs to be high.
Other than few tunnels we don't have any places where they charge you toll.
