Gas was @ $2.78 on Thursday then on Friday it shot back up to $3.09...
Using my Phone App "Gas Buddy", gas prices have not dropped much more. Chevron and Mobil are at $3.59 for regular. There is a Costco gas station but you need a membership card for that and it is $3.49. It appears that they may not decline much more... but one can always hope.
If anything is worried about any future increases, it probably won't happen seeing as summer continues on. Drops could actually happen in September (and should). External factors like Iran have diminished in ability to influence prices:
http://gulfnews.com/business/markets...shed-1.1046174
Oil prices have continued to fall steadily, however, any decline in gas price is much slower (primarily tied to refineries).
They're between $3.59 and $3.79 here. Not as low as they've been, but definitely better than the $4.79 they were earlier this year.
I was told gas here dropped to $3.59, but when I stopped at a station yesterday it was $3.69 again.
An online article I noticed said oil prices did an upward blip to over $100/bl, but it was brief, and they weren't sure it would do much to gas prices. The thing to watch is Iran: if the ayatollahs start yammering about closing the straits, we'll see $5/gal.

Over the weekend, it jumped here from $2.98 a gallon to $3.19. A week ago, I filled up the car for $2.82....sweet!
it was 3.27 here last weekend.... It is a bit higher than Misery.. (Missouri) BUT we got paved roads so that's a deal.

It's always better on this side border. Kansas continues with it's inferiority complex and delusions of reality obsession.
Don't forget the All-Star game on Tuesday -- direct from the right side of the state line.
The price of gas is all over the place here from $3.05 to $3.27
This afternoon while I was out getting Lunch ALL the Gas stations were in the Twilight Zone...One Station was as low as $2.77, then another one was @ $2.96, then I saw $2.99, then $3.05, then $3.01....
This was the FIRST time I've ever seen a number of stations not quite sure what to price the Gas they already have in the Ground...
Not surprising. The only reason it's fairly even here is that one guy owns almost all the gas stations. So everything ion town is like $3.69, but over right at the beach it's $3.99, and where a friend is in the city, he drives by a place where it's $4.07.
Places with little choice are higher.

Oh and from a Cincinnati Red fan you can keep the Royals... at least with the All Star game there will be successful baseball players at the K on both sides of the scoreboard...
But hey at least you guys have the Chiefs to look forward to.... oh... yeah. Sorry.![]()

All fun JH. Watching the Home Run Derby ... dummy Chris Berman still thinks he's in Kansas, after being corrected about 5 times.
Hopefully a good year for the Chefs -- fantasy football draft is coming up soon.
Yeah I caught a few games last year and had hella tailgate parties with a game of Giant Jinga that a friend had made... I swear at one game there were more fans watching us finish a 14 foot tall jinga than there were in the stadium... I always liked the Chiefs and hope they pull it together 'cuz what i really like is damn good football... I also wanna see the American Royal and a Sporting KC game this year...

$3.19 for regular.
Homophobia kills!
I paid $1.30 per liter this morning which works out to about $4.80 US per gallon at today's exchange rate. That was for regular, too. This is a holiday weekend for us so the price is always jacked up.

I just paid $3.37. Georgia should ALWAYS be the cheapest in the country since we have the lowest gas tax, but it defintiely doesn't always work out that way.
Filled up yesterday at $3.59 unleaded midgrade
It was 359nine when I left my Illinois town late Wednesday night. All across Illinois and Indiana, that was the lowest I saw, and I got 80 miles into Ohio, time to think about filling up. I saw a PILOT (usually one of the "better" prices) for 389nine, which had been the most common price on the trip so far...and across the interchange was a T/A for 355nine!! Guess where I stopped. I'm still running on that "cheap" gas and there is stuff around 370 here in Clarksburg, W. Va. and I'll probably top off before I leave. I was told by an "expert" not to expect 355nine in London, Ohio again on the way home. They probably just hadn't "gotten the call" yet.

I am paying between 3.299 and 3.339 around these parts....
i do find it cheaper to fill up when the republican party has rallies around here. my mazda3 hides nicely behind their Hummers and F150s plus I can fill my tank from their tanks and they dont even notice missing gas....![]()

That explains a lot about you: driving around in a glorified Honda. My friend has the coveted RSX (will never understand why they discontinued it), standard too, and you could look on the door and see an actual Honda sticker on it.
I believe I paid $3.42 for regular on my latest fill up. It was $41 for 12 gallons.
Jumped from $3.65 to $3.69 while I was camping.

Gas was going up 5-cents a week...NOW it's gone up 17-cents in just a few days...$3.47...
Thanks GiancarloC for burning down that oil-refinery in California...Is $4.00 bucks a gallon worth all the trouble?
I paid $3.47. A few miles down the road, a store did have $3.35
Along US 99E today, prices jumped from seven to nine cents over yesterday, ranging now from $3.65 to $4.08.

394nine down the road two miles (nearest petrol to me). I usually see a drop after Labor Day weekend, but not this year - it's up seventeen cents from what it was ON that weekend.
As we both said. Ain't happenin'.
If RobMe gets elected and he starts throwing missiles (or maybe even a nuke?) at Iran, would you believe $20/gallon during that brief period that the human race manages to survive before total annihilation? He has certainly openly threatened to bomb Iran preemptively.
I have absolutely no doubt at all that such an action would cause World War Three - or, as space aliens may call it (because none of us would be left to call it anything), Earth's Final War.
Oh, but it IS Obama's fault, don'cha see? That's why the prices are going up so much now (currently at the very highest price that I have ever seen in this town). He SECRETLY wants to step down after his first term and he's making it happen by issuing edicts to the world markets and OPEC to PLEASE charge us more for the oil.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, not that either. It would be AS MUCH *FAIL* as blaming Obama. And for the same reasons.
However, I don't put it "past" OPEC, etc., to know "what side their bread is buttered on." That, combined with their certainty that the U. S. market is a massive portion of their business, may influence their market behaviour, if they think that manipulating market prices in the short term may affect the outcome of an important election in the United States.
These foreign entities well know that Republican policies, and a Republican President, are *LIKELY* to follow policies more profitable for them, than Democrats might follow otherwise. For example, Republicans will never be any significant part of passing any types of laws which mandate more energy-efficient cars [better Miles Per Gallon], or encouraging further efforts toward energy alternatives, etc. Republicans are generally all about DRILL, BABY, DRILL.
Is it possible that prices aren't going down, because these foreign cabals are making sure that EITHER the market price is being kept high, OR the supply is being restrictively manipulated, or both? They would probably like to see the entire United States map turn "red" from sea to shining sea.
Yet these are the same Republicans who are wanting to start more and more wars, and throw around as many bombs as they can, all over the Middle East - and the Party who seems to be ready to wage a 21st-Century version of the Crusades all over the region. Such a conundrum, such a contradiction...it seems like that would make them NOT want to see more and more Republicans determining U. S. foreign policy, but the politics of decisions made at that level are seldom logical these days.
One thing for certain: This is "bigger" than mere individuals like Romney or Obama.

Sorry, I would have responded earlier -- but I was helping to plan a new war.
There were so many new ideas of where and whom to go to war with that we ran over our time schedule.
There was also some discussion on how high we wanted the gas prices to go. Some felt that we should go for the $8.00/gal that Obama wants but felt that if we did -- it would just give Obama more votes by fulfilling a campaign promise.
Oh well, now onto fixing the stock prices for Friday ... a republican's work is never done.

Gas shot up to $4.79 at one point like two weeks ago for regular, after a refinery outage and electrical problems supposedly (in reality, price gouging and market manipulation), and have now plummeted to $4.29 at the cheapest 76.
Chance, this thread is just to discuss local gas prices. Not for a political agenda.
