WTF? You apparently didn't read my post. Chavez is not attacking our cities. If anything he is just hurting the people of Venezuela. What oil companies do you get your gas? Our Valero and Citgo do tremendous work for charities around here. Exxon doesn't. You could look at it that I get the cheapest and that what is Valero.
I always get the cheapest. My point of view is to get rid of this oil dependency quicker we need to use it all up.
I am doing my damnedest.

Yeah Kuli without the mission I am doing including me driving my ass all over three states I would be sipping just a wee bit. I drop about 600 a month on gas in the government vehicles....
My own see maybe 100 unless I go on a trip.
I wanna see baja with my pooch someday... perhaps after a long tour through napa...

I did take Baja slowly, so I'd get a new month's income to spend along the way.
BTW, gas this evening had dropped to $4.04. (How so they decide on the cents digit? For months the price has moved by a nickle one way or the other at a time, but this wasn't divisible by five.)

Honeslty kuli i have no idea but I imagine after the price drops by the barrel then the refinery changes slightly and then the taxable amount alters slightly making the whole mess difficult to predict for actual prices.

Fred Meyer this morning is at $3.99.

Using my gas prices app "Gas Buddy" on my droid:
Costco Gas: $3.79 (this is usually cheaper, but you need member card)
Mobil: $3.89
Prices are still falling...
This week alone BP-Gas went from $3.06 back down to $3.01......I'm guessing Wal-Mart Gas gotta be @ $2.99 or lower...

In Leeds today the cheapest is £1.28 per litre (which equates to US$1.99 per litre or US$9.05 per gallon), but about 2/3rds of that is tax. A complete rip off.
I'm happy to report that Valero is charging 3.19 9. So how is that Arab oil compare with Chavez' oil?Quote Originally Posted by White Eagle View Post

For every 40 houses or so there is a whole block that is a park. Usually baseball or soccer fields. They keep up the premises. I saw also that they donated oil to the northeast for heating in the winters.
Even if it is Chavez' company I like it and will buy their gas.
For example even if it is from 2006:
Valero Gas Stations= CITGO = Venezuela = Chavez
That link that you posted a few posts back by Debbie Schlussel, that she made back in 2006 just shows how ignert she is about how the Energy Industry actually works, and who's doing what to who's dog and for how much money.
White Eagle you should be proud to know that Valero Energy Corporation is Texas Based out of San Antonio, and it's THE LARGEST REFINER in North America, and a refinery in the U.K.
Meaning that most Brits buy Valero Gasoline even if they think that they're buying it from a local competitor.
In Addition:
Source: CommunityValero employees in 2011 devoted more than 143,000 volunteer hours to improving people's lives and giving back to the communities where they live and work. They are ambassadors of hope and service for organizations where Valero operates, from children's charities and senior services to grassroots civic events. Employees from every Valero location – from retail stores to refineries to corporate headquarters – are dedicated to making a difference.
How Many North American base employees of Valero would be doing all of that if Chavez anything to do with the company?
So be proud in knowing that Valero doesn't have anything to do with Chavez, or Venezalua.
In fact the name Valero comes from Mission San Antonio de Valero, aka The Alamo.
Valero Corner Store prices in far East Dallas as of today: 3.149 per gallon for Regular Unleaded.
Full disclosure, centexfarmer works in management for Valero's retail division.

Okaaaay! Leave it to you for some teachings. I didn't know that. I was only going with the local examples of what I knew.
I did see a story that they were in San Antonio but I couldn't imagine just where a refinery was. San Antonio is far from
the coast. 250 miles from us. And we have a large Citgo refinery here.
So, Springer has no right to accuse me of using gas from a dictatorship.

$3.34 to $3.44 for a gallon of unleaded regular here.
It will be under $3 by September / October.
Post #41 of this thread by my fellow Texan TX-Beau?
Irving, Texas situated between Dallas and Fort Worth, and just North of the D/FW International Airport is the WORLD WIDE CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS OF EXXON/MOBILE.
Funny, I didn't see Valero mentioned in that post.
But now that we're on the subject!
Exxon/Mobile, to my knowledge own refineries or at least controlling interests in some, but their principle business isn't refining, but rather finding and extracting.Originally Posted by White Eagle
They also own a small retail market where they sale their gas and 44oz soft drinks.
Tiger Marts, I think they're called (google it).
Valero has the same operation, but the majority of their gas is sold by what the industry calls "jobbers."
For example, if you see a Valero Station with Valero Signage and Colors, and Valero Pumps outside, but the name of the building is something other than Corner Store, then that location is a "jobber" or a "wholesaler" of Valero Refined Gasoline and Diesel.
Point of fact, neither Exxon/Mobile, Shell, Conoco, Citgo, Racetrac, QT, Valero or any number of "gas stations" set the price at the pump.
Oil is a commodity, and it's bought and sold on "futures" or future value.
And it's sold at the pump as such too.
In fact it's factored into the daily margins of profits gained and lost at each location where you choose to purchase your "go juice."
Which is why you can see a few cents fluctuation between competitors at any given intersection in your area.
If anyone one of those given companies sales 18 billion gallons of gas in one year, do the math and figure out how much 1 cent on the dollar adds up to.
Americans pay far cheaper gas prices at the pump than other countries, primarily because the Federal Government subsidizes the oil and natural gas industry.
The Federal Government also taxes the sale of that oil and natural gas too.
So pick something to bitch about.
End the subsidies on "Big Oil" and pay for it at the pump.
Cut state and federal taxes on each gallon pumped, and pay somewhere else; street, bridges and highway funding for example.
The "jobbers" and the "corporate retailers" aren't stupid.
But they also have a very small margin that they can play with to draw you into their locations.
So they try to get you in (like local a local QT; .69 cents for a 32oz drink, you're choice).
Or fresh baked goods, or a garden salad.
I thought that the majority of customers just "paid at the pump" either "debit or credit" but I've seen the numbers it's just not so.
More than 30% of the business that most "convenience stores" bring in is now "retail."
Everything from Redbox, to fresh baked pastries, donuts, danish, to regional fare like Kolaches, and Gourmet Coffee/Espresso.
That's the draw now, not which of the "competitors" has the lowest or cheapest gas prices.
Those are mostly "market driven" meaning, whatever the market is willing to pay.
And not just in any given region, but also now within certain zip codes and demographics.
You wanna live in that area? You're going to pay for what that market can bear.![]()

Well, fuck. I gotta go to bed and come up in the am to see what the fuck you just said.
It's true, I was afraid someone would explain what is going on. Now just fuck!
Gas has gone up here -- $3.27 now was $2.99 a week and a half ago.
They suck. On June 4, I reported 3.899. Today, they're about the same. There's some existential reason why the prices have not dropped here, but I'm not interested. The multi-national oil corporations can go cram it.![]()
$3.35 at the BP

BP is now down to $2.92...That's the lowest its been in years....
Mobil was $3.299 today for regular. Special for some reason is still pretty high at $3.379
The last one I posted was 3.19 ^^^^
So it's gone up some.
AAA Texas: Retail gas prices down another nickel across state
Pump prices in Corpus Christi averaged about $3.25, nearly 30 cents less than a year ago and 35 cents less than a month ago.
Valero 1602 S Padre Island Dr
Corpus Christi, TX, 78416 $3.259
Unbranded 2222 Airline Rd
Corpus Christi, TX, 78414 $3.299
Stripes 9602 S Padre Island Dr
Corpus Christi, TX, 78418 $3.259
Stripes 601 S Port Ave $3.159
Corpus Christi, TX, 78405
I just saw thaat Stripes was #3.159. I think that is Citgo's stores.
They still suck. Paid 3.75.99 Saturday. Way above the national average.
We're down to $3.68 for a 76 Station (as I said before I don't count Arco as I don't consider it any good). It's falling and falling...
That does suck CR.... I just paid 3.43 for my "Go Juice" However the average price at all location in MO and KS has been around 3.59 for the last week of so driving around both states....

Maryland is about averaging about $3.23 for Regular.
Still telling it like it is.
Gas prices continue to rise here -- $3.32/gal regular
No change recently. It's nice being thirty cents lower than early last month, but we're still sixty cents higher than most of the country.

Petroleum distillates are sensitive demand driven products.
$2.xx will be a bad sign so long as the U.S. isn't planning on replacing its interstate highway system.
Prices are still going down, albeit more slowly... I think we are nearing the end of any immediate declines unless something drastic happens in the market. $3.63 is the lowest i've seen... so about a 5 cent drop since my last post.
